    Thank you for showing us the Something Fishy book. I had never seen it and think my youngest would really enjoy it for words that I notice she needs more practice for. Thanks!

      Nice to meet you! I am a homeschool momma of 3 kiddos. Ages 16, 14, 10. I'm glad I was able to carve out the time to make the video. Trying to make one for my 8th grader this coming week and my 11th grader at some other point in the summer. As you know, time is not plentiful lol! Glad to have you on my channel :)

    do you mind giving a description of your 5th graders day and how you have structured it with the order of subjects and amount of time? he sounds a lot like my 5th grader who is easily distracted and does not like to write.

      I basically let him get up and make his own breakfast every day. After he cleans up, he looks at a checklist, on Monday morning usually, and makes his list for the week on his own. I like to give him choices on days that he does things. So for instance Monday and Tuesdays he does his reading, math, and language arts, and I’ll add our science or history in the afternoon after lunch. I just make sure he’s in control of doing the choices of what he does in a day as long as he meets the expectations I have for the week which are usually a few lessons in each subject. We have never been a strict schedule type homeschool but more guiding the kids as to how to manage their time the best according to the days they know they have the most time and energy.
      Hope this helps ❤️

    Yea, another mom that uses CLE we love it!

      We just started CLE for math this year (but have used it in the past with other kiddos)-I'm thankful for it's simplicity and it's quite an advanced program! I actually just had to order CLE Math 4, the second half of it, because I realized my little guy may need to do a few units before plunging into level 5. Love being able to customize! I subscribed to your channel and cant wait to check out your family homeschool style :)

      @@driftingforward looking forward to it! I'm so glad you found something that works for your family! My family has always homeschooled and I swear we have just about used ever curriculum out there between all three kids at some point or another. It is such a relief to find something that works! Can't wait to see some of your videos as well! Have a great summer!

    Were you able to use the same America's Story book for all of your kids or did you need to repurchase?

    • @homeschoolOG
      @homeschoolOG  Год назад +1

      we used the same book for all of my kiddos. There is the text (reusable) and the teachers guide (consumable), but we do not use the teachers guide, rather just read the text aloud. This is why it's been through all of my kiddos time and time again :)

    Hi, thanks for the video!! How do you like EIW? I have rising 5th graders and I was looking for a new program.

    • @homeschoolOG
      @homeschoolOG  5 месяцев назад

      We really enjoy EIW! I have used it with my oldest from level 4-10 and she just finished her first college writing class with an A. It prepared her well for sure. I wouldnt say it's "exciting" of "fun" but since the lessons are short and sweet, my kids don't complain. So we stick with it!
