Spent the past week with this new medieval strategy city building game… and I’ve had a real good time. Loving the game so far, looking forward to playing more.
Glad you are enjoying the early access. There has been a lot of love and effort put into every piece of the game. I am working on the animations down to facial expressions trying to bring some soul to the inhabitants
I don’t know if you are actually the dev but I really like some of the voice lines that they have especially in the market like you say it gives the game some soul, would love to see where the relationship system goes with like the letters.
Can't believe I missed that feature after all this time, I don't recall seeing anything about it in the tutorial. Thanks for the heads up, it's very cool!
With regards to the family stuff, not sure what the time speed is but I think it would be really cool to have family attributes assigned over time depending on how much time the family is assigned to a certain job. Then after a certain amount of time, having that a permanent attribute carry through the family line or something, creating a "family lineage" of sorts.
Force you can actually walk around as a Manor Lord if you click the eye icon on your portrait in top right. At least that's how it was in the demo, give it a shot!
Wow, I didn't even know about this game until this video came across my feed and now I think I'll buy it. This seems like the exact cozy game that I need and it's even better that it's done with a medieval premise.
This game looks really cool and I'm definitely interest but I also said the same thing about Medieval Dynasty and let's just say there's good reason why the number 1 most downloaded mod for that game is a literal spreadsheet.
Honestly a great sign they let people review it a full two weeks before release. A lot of publishers these days will place tough restrictions on reviews near launch!
Would love a mechanic where you could take your host out of bounds into a new area controlled by a different lord and raid/sack settlements to take their regional wealth and bring it to one of your settlements. Could even create an army supplies system where you can take supply carts into the enemy territory, and that can act as a timer for how long you can stay in hostile lands.
This reminds me of an upgraded Stronghold 2. The cool thing about Stronghold was you could actually control the King. Life is Feudal-Forest Village stepped that up, and let you control residents in 1st person. Really enjoyed having the ability to do that.
@@vknight7497 I played both of them but none of them I enjoyed as I enjoyed Zeus.. Man when those gods arrived in my city I felt so thrilled ..and when the events like heroes killing the monsters .it was a different kind of excitement
The only thing I wish the game had is an organic pathing system. As in the paths that people travel gets turned into a footpath organically just via the foot traffic stomping out the grass instead of you just placing down a pre-planned path.
Played a lot of the Total War series especially Rome Total War, played Medieval War 1, 2 and some others. Played Stronghold 1,2, 3 and some others. So like this type of game and am very excited. Also the graphics in Manor Lord is amazing. Edit: how did I forget to mention Rise of Nations, that's a masterpiece.
well sorry to say but this game is mostly like the settlers series its honestly almost a 1 to 1 game that and anno its very much not like those you mention except its medieval
Thank you for your review. This looks great, has super detail and immersion, but...I already have two jobs. This is a time sink, arguably a fun one, but I have no time to sink into it. I wish everyone well in their enjoyment! 😎
This sounds more and more like Farthest Frontier, which is another medieval city builder in early access. Ngl that's a good thing though, as Farthest Frontier is so much fun. Really looking forward to try Manor Lords:)
Not many games make you time travel in real life , I've played a handful of them right now it's Vintage Story and it's one that I've played the longest with out getting burnt out it's a sign of a well built game . I haven't played a city builder sens I was a kid and this looks like one I need to try.
I dont see this to be that great compared to other City Building games out there. we have much better ones than this. This feels samey with the other generic city builder Some more interesting ones are - Against The Storm - Frost Punk - Frontiers - Clanfolks - or any Hooded Horse games which this is part off. but eitherway still a good addition, we who enjoys city builders are eating good
So far I like what I've seen of this game. Some more customization for the villager NPCs would be nice and personality. A bit more SIMS mixed in, like the families actually having babies and growing into other families as time passes. Marriages among the families, disputes, being able to befriend or antagonize opposing towns/cities/kingdoms, their leaders having a personality that could dictate friend or foe, etc. If things like that co-existed with what I've seen this game do thus far it would blow my mind.
I loved the demo I played it had so much potential, I'm so glad is finally coming out, and kudos to the dev to be doing the majority of the game solo, and congrats for getting microsoft to publish it... I cannot wait for the 26th, for now I'll play some Furthest Frontier
The game does look good, but god damnit its yet another early-access game. I get it why developers utilize the early-access, but I'm sick and tired of having to wait 1-3 years for full release every time a new game pops up. 😮💨 And some games never even graduates from the early-access. ( I'm looking at you Valheim ! )
It's finally coming. I got into this cus of the battle stuff. Some other youtubers I watched from like total war were all showing the combat depth. Total War gone down abit and stronghold hasn't made a game in years. Aoe hasn't been amazing since 2 to be honest so this is needed
This seems like a game I'd enjoy a lot, and really looks like it's been made with love and proper attention to detail. So.... I won't be playing it, ahahah. I'd struggle to keep my irl things sorted!
I hop videos pretty often so I don't know if he got around to it. Rather than just zooming in close, you can walk around as your lord instead of a camera.
Hello, force gaming, I want to say that I enjoy videos and your detailed analysis of these games. I have recently saved up enough money to get myself a gaming PC. I want to get into the "MMORPG" Genre but dont know which one to play and invest money + time into, any good recommendations, and what game are you currently maining at? Thank you 💜
It's definitely a pretty looking game but it's NOT worth buying until the Dev adds real "dials and cranks" to controlling and scheduling the actual A.I. behavior of the peasants. Apparently a lot of them just run around like chickens with their heads cut off and there's no way to restrict them to their intended work areas.
This is really really early access, it has a lot of unfinished works like cities for AI, diplomacy, castles even horses etc but I'll buy it for support I hope future updates will not take long time, game looks amazing
Families worker system is amazing but am I wrong in thinking stronghold did this decades ago? How has is taken so long for someone to take up the torch!?
I played the beta and was looking forward to it coming out. It sounds like you enjoyed it. It will likely be the next game i purchase after I'm done with Dragon's Dogma 2.
I want to be a game influencer just so I could play THIS game early! The demo had me STOKED. And have yet to hear a bad thing from peeps that have had early access.
Glad you are enjoying the early access. There has been a lot of love and effort put into every piece of the game. I am working on the animations down to facial expressions trying to bring some soul to the inhabitants

how crazy is it that people are more hype for games like this than many AAA games
AAA games are busy securing lones from ESG & DEI and B.R.I.D.G.E. social engineering funds
because most AAA games are failures
It isn't crazy at all bc indie >AAA has been the status quo for the industry for about 4+ years. Where have you been?
@@brandondeakins564 Bet he was there all along.
u mean 40yo boomers yes.
This is my most anticipated game for the last 2 years. Literally CANNOT wait to try it
Well, you literally can and literally will wait…
@@NicholasAdamDemonte isnt it goin early access on a couple of weeks?
This and Falling Frontier.
Game sucks wish i could refund. Over hyped
This sounds straight up like a "Banished but with combat". I LOVE IT. Definitely looking forward to playing it.
Thinking the same thing, Banished is really fun even without the combat.
Yeah but with the option to turn off combat if you just wanna build and chill.
The lack of combat is why i did not buy Banished. I have plenty of non-combat city/settlement/colony builders. This is too tempting.
This is banished, total war and cities skylines all in one, basically.
@@renealbrechtsen9743 yep, and that sounds like the best thing ever
This game is on my steam wishlist since September 2020. So happy its turning out to be as good as I had hoped
Next time you play, press the eye icon near your portrait and you will be surprised and get even more immersed.
Can't believe I missed that feature after all this time, I don't recall seeing anything about it in the tutorial. Thanks for the heads up, it's very cool!
What does it do?
@@hegemon3 You can control your lord in third person and take a stroll around your town. You can't interact with anything but it feels nice.
That's a great idea
@@tonechild5929 yea until some families start disappearing into the forest with the good looking live stock
Family craft or trade buff, makes sense.
There are no dynasty mechanics or family.
Those close up shoots look so cool ! Cant wait to try it
I've spend way too many hours in Banished and Farthest Frontier and ready again to sacrifice all of it for this one.. Bring on the immersion!
Best demo I ever played -- and that was a while ago. I was wondering earlier this year where this was, so glad I can play it again soon.
Really impressed with the depth from what I can see, and the zoom in level. Looking forward to it!

Smart pause is something devs underestimate. A huge quality of life improvement in any game.

I love the little details, that is why I loved Settlers.
Honestly a great sign they let people review it a full two weeks before release.

So good to see Kingdoms and Castles finally getting a graphics overhaul.
It's more realistic-looking than Farthest Frontier, but apart from the regions, it doesn't offer much depth (yet).
This reminds me of an upgraded Stronghold 2. The cool thing about Stronghold was you could actually control the King. Life is Feudal-Forest Village stepped that up, and let you control residents in 1st person. Really enjoyed having the ability to do that.

The little details in this game are what make it so great.
Its basically Lords of the Realm with better graphics, which is perfectly fine.

Good times, looking forward to this one.

I hope the Kingdom Come sequel allows us to build like this but with first person of course.
The tech put into this game is very cool.
God damn I've been looking forward to this so much it's almost torture to watch people play it so long before it comes out...

I just wish the landscape wasnt so boring. Needs swamps, coast, streams, lakes, rivers, hills, and mountains.
I remember playing demo few years ago for Manor Lords.. my most anticipated game with Age of Mythology retold.
Its looking super fun. I hope they add massive maps and tons of content. Looks promising.
You talk about immersion and zooming in, but you didn't click the eye 👁🗨 next to your lord top right. Now that's immersion!
