- "Shaken baby syndrome" is back in the spotlight. On Friday, a leading doctor and expert witness, Dr Waney Squier, was found to have mislead courts by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service. She stands by her evidence. John Sweeney reported on the issue for Newsnight in 2007 - and interviewed Dr Squier. Having babies is not for the faint of heart. Pregnancy is dangerous, and children can be traumatizing.
I raised three kids and never once did it cross my mind to shake one of them.

Thank the Gods she was cleared in the end, spending life in prison for a crime you didnt commit is a terrible thing. Good for Kyle's family for supporting Suzanne and the truth, they saw through the emotion and pain of Kyle's death and helped see justice done.
She was declared innocent in 2008 and released

I believe she is innocent, normally I'd not believe it but there is so much more to the story than what has been told. Seizures and a broken eye socket and he was not even in her care when that happened, also falling out of a buggy...god bless that woman if she is innocent you have committed a crime sending a innocent woman to prison.
She IS innocent. They cleared her of murder and released her in 2008.

@@ghosto.o1704 I wonder how anyone can make up after putting an innocent person into prison for such a long time. Not just her, her whole family had to suffer. Especially her child growing up without her mother
From what it sounds like thi little angel was never abused but had undiagnosed epilepsy and other medical issues 😦

The injury to his eye makes me think of a really bad fall into the corner of like a TV stand if he ran full force as little ones do. The right angle and just right amount of pressure would so it. I dont think she did it

Who caused the eye injury?
My heart breaks for the poor baby who passed away. Who would hurt an innocent child? Sure they can be fussy and figuring out their wants or needs can be hard, but that doesn’t call for child abuse or even killing a child.

This report is one of the good things Sweeney did. A shame about how he treated Tommy Robinson though.. real shame.

@@HansAronofsky Just the way she said it made it seem she did it. She didn't seem very sincere in her answers to the questions they were asking. If she didn't cause the eye injury or the seizure, who or what did?
Even the father doesn't belive she did it. Just because someone isn't acting like you would expect it, doesn't mean she is guilty. So don't judge her
@@saraflint2982 she was the babysitter and not the mother or partner, stupid. And she is a free person now. You no why idoit? Because medical evidence proved her innocence. Even the video already showed that the eye and head injury was probably the cause of death and that happend in the care of the mother and not the babysitter.
