Great video I own a 6125 2wd just like yours except for one thing. The. rear window is not scalloped on each lower corner.which leaves no access ports to run implement wiring harness in to the cab. White engineers really dropped the ball on these early model run UNITS! Only way to get wires in the cab is crack open the rear window run the wires in and duct tape the open area around the window!!!
Cool Beans! You make me believe I could do that. Soil temps here in NC Indiana are still below 40. Not getting too excited.......yet. Brother headed out with the 185 and 271 with Brillion packer later this morning.
@@ThatOliverGuyChris I feel like the footage probably exists, but the dialogue wasn’t PG enough for this channel. Getting those bolts loose can make a preacher cuss sometimes lol
The seed does gravity flow down the a seed disc. The air pressure fan the fan holds the seed to the seed disc, that turns and then drops the seed down the tube to the trench. Check out my video from last year, it explains it in the first couple of minutes. ruclips.net/video/PI9ouarqYjw/видео.html
Well I seeded 2 weeks ago at 20c. Since then we have seen -6c (Celsius) and even snow flurries! Today I could see some life but last night we even had a heavy frost. At this point it’s out of my hands. 🤞
You scared me. I thought it was Sunday.... Gone are the days of just hooking the hitch pin and the trip rope, or even just the pin and the hoses to the same lift cylinder you used on the plow, disc, or drill. Planting is underway around here. Just watch a 24-row planter working today. Bigger ones than that are not unusual with the big boys.
I think today is our first date for crop insurance coverage. I haven't seen any planters rolling yet, unless you count oats and hay. My oats are popping up nicely!
No, but I wonder if there might be a date stamped in it. I've got another that I think came with the dealership, it has a lot of wear in it but still works.
The transmission. The 6124 uses the Massey Ferguson dyna shift. It has only 4 powershift speeds in each of 8 gears, for a total of 32 speeds. The 6125 uses the Funk 18 speed full powershift with the White rear end. I personally prefer the 6125, that full powershift is nice, but I can see where it might be more expensive to rebuild someday down the road.
Couple observations? 1. White missed a real opportunity, they could have run tubes out to the chains from those bleeders, walla self lubricating planter?? LOL!! 2. I read on another website a few years ago, there are 55,000 drips in a quart of oil. Just sayin'! LOL!!
@@ThatOliverGuyChris coulter and hub stay together but it comes off bearings and I have to press bearings back in to hub. I'm not sure if bearings or hub is wore.
@@ThatOliverGuyChris the notched blade. I've took a punch and roughed the inside of hub up and put some strong lock tight on them mostly works but there's that one you know
So you can insert bearings without having to remove the disc from the hub? The blades I use have a center hole that is a little smaller than the bearings. I have to unbolt the blade from the hub to change bearings.
You are a very good mechanic and at repairing things and fixing things a make it look easy
Thank you!
So almost 3 years ago when you did this video. Nice to get a visual of the hydraulic cylinder repair, thanks. I hope you have a blessed Easter!
Thanks! Happy Easter
Sounds like a Cummins in the tractor. I prefer planting with a medium sized non four wheel drive tractor.
Yep, 5.9 Cummins. 2wd is nice for maneuverability, but I wish I had spent the extra for fwa.

Mine is one of the last ones. There were quite a few little changes for the last couple model years
Should a Oliver 1800a have a positive ground or a negative ground.
Factory was positive ground with a generator, but if it has been updated to an alternator, it needs to be negative ground.
Thanks Chris good video
I put an invitation in the mail for my tractor ride should get it soon
Cool 👍
Tractor, darn phone

@@rosstheoliverman The video was ok, but some reason the audio didn't record. Maybe it was the automatic censor on the gopro.
@@ThatOliverGuyChris they’ve thought of everything these days 😂😂😂
Neat tool for cylinder work is a “seal twister” kit on the amazon. It gently folds the ram seal for installation.
I've been looking at getting one. It seems pricey for all there is to it, but when I am fighting a U cup seal, it would be worth every penny.
What is the air for on the planter? Don't the seeds just gravity flow out of the boxes?

Was going well till I got a face full of dust bro, I noticed you coughed too. Enjoyed this video. Safe travels

Just did one of the assist cylinders on our white planter last week..
That tractor and planter combination looks darn good

Just about. We did get a little snow this morning...
@@ThatOliverGuyChris yeah it’s actually supposed to snow in Connecticut here a little bit tomorrow morning as well lol..
One of favorite times of the year planting
Seems like most guys like harvest best. Planting is my favorite season on the farm.

Do you have any trouble with those fertilizer coulters pushing hub off bearings??
Nope. They shouldn't be able to do that since hole in the disc is smaller than the outer race of the bearings
