The Sequels are horrible, especially TROS and TLJ. However, even though TFA is bad, it is possible to watch it, and if you push the envelope, the film might get a 5 rating, but the other two.... ☠️

As far as the CGI goes, that was not fair. CGI wasn’t even invented or at least in any practical use yet in 1977. I personally love all of the practical effects in the OT.

The way I see it, A New Hope should've won cinematography and cgi for the time period it was made in. You couldn't find anything better it was years and years ahead of its time. You definitely can't say that of TFA. However, TFA needed free points somewhere.
My theory is that the new hope to return of the jedi are happening and the phantom menace to revenge of the sith is someone telling luke the story of anakin Skywalker and the force awaken to the rise of Skywalker is whats happening after luke turned old so i also think anakin vs obi wan took place in the 1900s and vader vs obi wan happened on new hope
A new hope should’ve won cinematography considering it came out in the 70s while Force Awakens came out 37 years later and was much much less innovative
Even if it was mostly a copy episode 7 was still a good movie imo if they had followed up good on it instead of just making each movie be one where an original character died they could have had so much more potential
