We have a petrol price hike at the moment down under. Price I paid per litre was $2.32 which equates to about $8.70 a gallon. Beautiful places there but we have some like that here as well. Should do a holiday trip down here in Australia one day.
Ah, don't sweat the timeslips - Big Wave is still in the test-and-tune stage of his development!! What some people don't realize is that every drag-n-drive is a bit of a compromise. I mean, the 200-odd highway miles between tracks on this leg is equivalent to EIGHT HUNDRED passes on the strip. Unless you have deeper pockets than that Elon felller, you're gonna have to compensate for simple wear and tear six ways from Sunday, if nothing else. And highway wear and tear is a little bit different than track w&t. Add in the factor of you all being rookies at this sort of thing, and the big picture becomes much clearer. Oh yeah, and let's not forget the FABULOUS amount of content that you're so kindly sharing with us every day, over and above all the other 1001 capers surrounding your junket. IMHO, two things need to happen, here. The "fringe" of your fan base needs to clam up and cut you LOTS of slack. And you two need to develop a "kevlar skin" mindset, when it comes to dealing with the critics. Myself, I don't care if you have to time Big Wave with a calendar - I'm in this for the vicarious fun and surprises, period. I'm certain Big Wave will come into his own eventually, and I'm fully prepared to make like Job in the interim. It's the least I can do, dig? Stay safe, and keep having a blast. I'm raising my Colortini snifter to you both, in humble salute. 🍷 PROST!!!😎
I read every word and appreciate you so much!! Thank you for your constant support. Doing the absolute best we can with what we've got, and like you said. Just a rookie out here having fun!
@@GnarlySpeedShop Right back at ya, Luv!! Every gearhead needs a cool uncle to "have their backs," so I guess I'm yours. You and Daniel-San concentrate on having as good a time as possible, and I'll run interference when necessary. All shall be Well..........😎
Good to meet you at Samoa. You were just as gracious as I expected. I was standing next to you at the drivers meeting. You’re really capturing the “awesomeness”. What a cool event! I definitely want in next year in my Olds.
Loving the trip. I live in New Zealand but love CA and Oregon and have done that drive up the coast and through the redwoods and the scenery is stunning ! Your eyes during the drags are intense, don't blink at all ! Danny is at one with nature and the slots, loving the humour, keep it up !
Hell Yeah! I LOVED this video! You are becoming my favorite channel! Your time slip was great too!! Almost in the 8s is fast! Faster than anything I've ever driven... I need to get a faster car and do a drag n drive... Looks like so much fun
Wow I'm enjoying watching this video. If you want to stay a little more consistent on your launch off the line. You might consider using a idle up solenoid. If you can rig one up on there on your next event. It does a lot of things to help you stay consistent. You don't burn up your converter you don't have to worry about touching the gas pedal just rest your foot on it to get ready to move off the line. And if you have somebody taking a little more time on the staging you won't burn through your converter. It helped me my 60-foot swore the same I never has worried about anything but cutting a light. And then just turn the switch off as you're going through your gears
It takes time to get off line the way you want to. Once you get your reaction time right. Your times will improve. And some truly beautiful scenery. And hope you don’t loose too much!
Such a great time you guys are having! Thanks for sharing the journey. And man those gas prices! I paid 4.39 for 91 filling up my wife's car just the other day.
Kind of looks like a before and after shot at 6:30 in the video what your car would look like after it got the paint and body work done don't get me wrong though I like the patina look
Really enjoying your trip. Have you seen the California Proposal to create zero emissions zones not allowing classic cars to drive? It's insane. End of an era.
How does it feel you guys to be famous? I've always thought that would be cool to get recognize by people all over the world... might not be movie stars but y'all are still getting recognized.... good job... peace.... here in North Carolina gas is $3.36 and I thought that was high... geeze 😭
Could I ask what cam and improvements you did to the engine? I also saw at the chevron station the 87 octane was 6.79...here in N.C. its 3.38 per gal...what a difference.
Gary if You are interested in the details, the posted videos show the internals used in the engine build and other parts, components too. All The Best, Sincerely
I loved your launch, the drive thru the forest was picturesque, i know it's hard work getting the video's out, after a full day, but you're doing a great job.
I appreciate each of your videos ❤
build some pressure in the brake lines by pumping them before you stage and it will hold much better

Nice videos. My friend Jason in the light green 57 Chevy wagon is a friend of mine. If you get a chance to visit he is super nice.
Sounds like the trans is shifting out of 1st gear to early.
Agreed. Shift points need to be adjusted. 2-3 is pretty bad
Blink Olivia blink! 9:28 Lol

Sounds SO SWEET ! 👍🏻
That was a great video, really enjoyed watching, have fun and be safe ❤❤
It looks like you might have went through Orick California, where that elk was, and then maybe the Ave Of The Giants where that big tree was.
Such a great time you guys are having! Thanks for sharing the journey. And man those gas prices! I paid 4.39 for 91 filling up my wife's car just the other day.
Beautiful drive
The Elk were checking out your car. One said COOL.

Nice
I have to hit that next year's event.
What a great trip but can't believe you haven't fitted modern seatbelts especially for the drag racing
I like the Lopping of the Cam.
Maybe a different smaller steering wheel and a Rollback Tow truck.
Next year I’m going!
I loved your launch, the drive thru the forest was picturesque, i know it's hard work getting the video's out, after a full day, but you're doing a great job.
I was seeing the interior light is it side ways or is that how they came
How do they justify to the people of CA $7 a gallon gas?
So Crusin' the USA! I bet that Elk wanted to race an ELK,amino ,,,and did you see Bigfoot peeking around a tree?
What compression ratio are you running. Does it warrant using 91 octane?
Yes, common misconception about required and beneficial fuel. :-)
👍👍😎
question is the track at sea level ? 😁
There are NEVER any good signs on a slot machine! They are designed to do one thing, and one thing only, TAKE YOUR MONEY!
Party pooper 😂
Truth teller 😊
Please pull your visor down. Get a routine. Visor down, pre stage. Waite for opponent. Stage. Make the run.
I like Tennessee alot more don't get that vibe at all from the east myself looks more like a chore than fun to me
What Kind of MPG is the Pancho getting ?
First to second shifts too soon make it 1000 more rpm's. The third shift is too late by 300to500 rpm's.let some air out of the rear tires.
Can you post a map of the rally. Google has a map but no cities.
No rain
👍🇨🇦
A bit late at the late or the GTO jumped the light.
Always love driving hwy 101
1/8 of of a mile , racing 1/4 is alot better 12.8 in a Cutlass S 350 rocket 72 at Cayuga Raceway. 1973
You should try blinking a little when your racing 😅
I gunned it
High gas prices - Thanks for the reminder, NEVER go to California.
Great ET 0.092
