Hi Guys! Big wave will redeem herself on this journey! She has been gone over with a fine tooth comb.Looking forward to your week of posts.I feel like I am riding along enjoying the car and beautiful scenery. I really enjoy all your posts whether you a cruisin, wrenchin or at the beach! I like VGG, Nicks Garage and now GNARLY S. S. I hope you have safe travels and a Amazing adventure!
I’m 30 miles from Santa Cruz and this reminds me I haven’t been to the boardwalk since COVID. I need to take my C6 and cruise it over there soon. Love to see you having a great time up on our part of the coast.
I just did a 22 hundred mile excursion on my 69 impala with engine compression of 125.. gasoline prices weren't a bad outside of California.. almost half the price...
Great video! Looks like you guys had an absolute blast! I need to stop by the Madonna Inn next time I'm up that way to grab a bite to eat. That place is a TRIP! Way cool!
Get some weather stripping for the Temp st. The deck lid will leak when it rains. It would be awesome if you could take Duke and your camper trailer to Gaviota! Good choice on the Madonna Inn! There's no place like it. The guy who built the road built that in about 1954. It finally opened in '58. Room 137 is The Cave Man. That's the room Elvis stayed in when he was there. You guys are doing everything I did back in the day. You remind me of a lot of good times in my life.
i really enjoy all your videos.I watch all of them. But for some reason I really really enjoyed this one especially.Dont know why.Maybe cause I always wanted to go that far up north.(originlly from Bklyn NY but now in Scottsdale). You guys look like you really enjoy eachothers company.Beautiful thing to see.
Awesome day 1! This really makes me want to do a road trip in the Nova - it's been a while since I've done more than 150miles. For reference, I typically get about 15mpg on the highway with a cammed 10.25:1 6.0, Magnum-F 6 speed, 3.73s and 25.6in tall tires. I think driving 5-10mph slower can help a lot as I've seen a best of 18mpg when I was doing closer to 60mph instead of a more typical 70mph.
Don't mind me, guys - I'm watching these out of sequence, so there's going to be a fair amount of free association on my end. This vid rang a little bell in me noggin, so I did some spot research on the Garggle and found out that they're still running the Silver State Classic Challenge every year. For those not familiar with it, the SSC {originally known as the Silver State Road Race} is run in Nevada. Ninety miles of Nevada State Route 318 are closed to the public so the participants can run all out, and I do mean all out - there are NO speed limits whatsoever. If you've got a rail that can top 300mph at Bonneville, you can run that fast - or even faster - in the SSC, provided you've got nerves of steel and kevlar in the twisties! It is THE Mother Of All road rallies, bar none. If you remember the Cannonball Run and Gumball Rally films, the SSC was the direct inspiration for both movie franchises. It also tops my gearhead bucket list. Maybe one day I'll make it happen, even if I'm reduced to piloting a Toro zero-turn lawn tractor, or even a Segwayy. As for you two, I think Daniel-san's Slayer might be a dandy go-to car, if you ever decide to give the SSC a try yourselves. No offense to Big Wave, 'cos he's more cruiser than cruise-missile, knowhutImean? Stay safe, and enjoy the fun to the nth degree; I'm with you both, in spirit.😎
YIKES! 1,800 miles divided by 14.5 MPG = 124 gallons X $6.59 = $818 for fuel! LOL I drove the "Daily Driver" less than 500 miles last year. I still have 1/2 a tank and probably paid $4.25 for that gas (and I thought it was high then). Have a safe journey.
What time will you two be getting to Samoa Drag Strip on Wednesday? Takes about 3 1/2 hrs from Redding on 299. It will start to cool down west of Willow Creek. Your going to Love our drag strip, it's right on the beach. See you to there..
If you want to get better mileage, shut the windows, use the hvac, pump up the tires to maximum cold air pressure. I don't remember if you have a cruise control, but being an LS, it shouldn't be hard to figure something out so you drive at constant speed on the highway (changing speed kills fuel economy). Painkiller drink Olivia, huh? Judas Priest fan??? lol Great video :)!
Damn those drinks you guys were sipping on made me thirsty ! Danny has been looking a little more comfortable in front of the camera since you guys started...and good luck on the drag and drive...intend to do 1 myself someday.
Being from the South East the gas prices made my heart flutter.I wonder how much it gets people to stop driving or is just the state of California using you as a cash cow.
That 67 Tempest is looking beautiful and that 6.0L LS with over 500 HP sounds beastly.

The bucket list trip from Detroit...Route 66, the Pacific Coast Hwy, and US 2. But holy crap, that west coast gas...

Nice. I haven't seen that place in over 20 years. I'm going to have to go back just for a visit. Definitely miss the Beach and Boardwalk in Santa Cruz

Love that 6.0 Tempest. A flowmaster exhaust would really make it sound awesome 😎. Love the videos. You guys are cool 😎.
That 6.0 Tempest not only looks but sounds wayyyyyyy better than the rebadged Holden Monaro from Australia (aka the 04-06 GTO).

Good luck with everything on your trip.
Wow that trip you guys took was incredible. Lots of fun. God bless
Good luck guys thank you for the video I’ve bee looking for a new video for days
I'm so jealous, got to do that trip sometime.
Looks fun guy's n nice cruise!❤❤
20 mpg on the hiway all warmed up, no head winds.
Massachusetts unbranded gas 87-$3.39 93-$3,99
Awesome video. Best of luck to you guys. ❤

Paul from Ohio….love your channel….gas here last week…$ 3.38 @ Costco…..those prices are insane….😮😮😮.
That old 67 Tempest looks a million times better than the 04-06 GTO (aka the rebadged Holden Monaro from Australia mate).
Hopefully you don’t run Out of gas good luck on the trip
Damn those drinks you guys were sipping on made me thirsty ! Danny has been looking a little more comfortable in front of the camera since you guys started...and good luck on the drag and drive...intend to do 1 myself someday.
Gotta catch one of those three eyed catfish LOL!!
Gas in Texas is $3.48 a gallon
Y’all get it!!!💪💥
Did you see the men's restroom cave at the Madonna Inn?
What’s the specs on the 400?
Seems way faster than a stock 67 gto with automatic
Love that hotel where is that at??
The only cars that good mpg's, was the Carolla and the Bug and the Datsun 510.
Paint the tempest...
Forget the patina
Better check the rules. Most drag and drives do not allow a hard tire on the tracks when racing
I know what a BLT is but what is a GLT?
Being from the South East the gas prices made my heart flutter.I wonder how much it gets people to stop driving or is just the state of California using you as a cash cow.
Compare the trunk of a F150 to a Tempest. Surprise they are almost the same size. Lol.
Another good video, looks like you had a fun day, alittle jealous, i would of loved to have some good seafood at that restaurant .
I rather take the beautiful 67 Pontiac Tempest with the 6.0L LS2 V8 in it over any Stupid Tesla anyday.
SO JEALOUS!!
