How it feels to Drive a True MUSCLE CAR on a Racetrack | V8 Pure Sound!

- August equals Winter down here in New Zealand, this time we got blessed by stunning weather and an even better turnout for Chrome Festival NZ, the biggest winter event for cruising, racing and Show'n'Shine display in the whole Country.
Jump onboard with me on 'KINGXY' for a legendary ride around Hampton Downs Motorsport Park, with an all-new and improved setup on new suspensions, new rear axles with billet splines, new diff, new gearbox and a total output of roughly 1200hp on a 555ci Big Block Ford, 8/71 TBS Supercharger, running on 15psi of pressure and C16 race fuel / E85 Ethanol mix.
Keep in mind this was a cruising session and we were not allowed to go too fast, most of the action you'll see here is half to partially full open throttle. It's scary to think that the full potential of this car is still unattainable even on a racetrack. We believe the real potential of this Ford Falcon could be seen on a Quarter Mile or even Half Mile race, time will tell....

That sound is BRUTAL. Pretty refreshing to see a blown V8 on the track rather than just shredding tires or blowing down a drag strip...
We did and filmed the latter too, just thought it would have been entertaining to see it going on a racetrack. I think this video really hit the mark
@@musclecars.universeBro you were driving the shit out of that car. Hell yeah.
The 6th gen Camaro ZL1 (especially with the 1LE package) is an absolute track animal with a blown pushrod V-8.
I mean, it’s not carborated and doesn’t have a scoop out of the hood, but its 100% American muscle powered. So much fun on the track!
Ricers vs Kamungus
@@preyforcougars3601if it doesn't come out of the hood, is it even really supercharged?😂
I mostly like it how the car sways and rocks when you hit the gas pedal 😁
You mean loses traction?
@@rorsche No, not if it loses traction. When the car shakes from left to right due to engine torque when you step on the gas pedal. I dont know the exact english term for it.
@@LeDibeau You spoke perfectly, bud.. These import kids just don't know what TORQUE is or does..lol
That torque
Torque > high RPM any day. This modified muscle car proves it with how it rockets past everything else on the track.
Nice and for a 1200HP super charged v8 with too big an engine to fit nicely under the bonnet, seems to go around corners reasonably well.
Yes it really does I was honestly surprised
Yes! Did a hundred times better than I expected.
Though, on exists, skills are required.
Great driver!
This was my concern when i saw the thumbnail lol
I didn’t actually see it in a corner.
whats to.outrun a old acura and a vw van some other mainstream econorice a ronis ,id say respect got you by most of em ,looked plenty fun anyways
everyone on the track was so courteous i wish the public roads be safe like this :D
..becuase these are actual car enthusiasts not boofheads..and I guess having no insurance if you bend your car on a track is another big incentive to drive respectfully!
@@KnightIndustries572 "boofheads" hahahaa
Yeah, they heard that sound and saw that supercharger that looks like it will eat them! Awesome
I was thinking the same great awareness, no jackelopes doing dumb stuff
Because they are person who tooks cars in different way, not some goofy soccer mom that think car is just a box that used to carry you from point A to B, they doesn't care if it's damaged, as long it runs and carry their kids to school it's fine for them.
I am deeply impressed with that relentless power, what a handful she must be, well driven mate
Yes the power never stops
And ON DEMAND with that big SC huh 🍺

@@musclecars.universe ABSOLUTELY 🍺🍺🍺
That was extremely impressive. 20 past that Japanese minivan.. I guess nobody else realized they were actually racing lol
Yea those other cars are just casually driving. Definitely. But seeing a muscle car mashing it on the track is satisfying

if that's what your inference is, lol
this comment is underrated lol
Hiace is THE workhorse of down under. We ain’t got abundance of Silverados - it’s worth a fukkin fortune here. I’m gutted just thinking about it.
the muscle car wasnt even racing
62 years old. Grew up at the dragstrip. My late brother earned a Wally in early 70's. Indy summer national. Stock eliminations. Gasoline is for washing parts. Alcohol is for drinking. Nitro is for racing. 🦅🤔🙀
Damn that's a great story, thanks for sharing it with us buddy
Bros are running on methanol injection now... even when daily driving, because in Europe, running on methanol is cheaper...
And what fuel can people use to race if they aren't made of money? Or are you suggesting that only the rich should be able to race?
@@AnnatarTheMaia how expensive is expensive like how much per litre of normal fuel/ unleaded we call it in Australia?? I don’t know what use call it over there every country seems to have their own different terms/ names for the same thing. Most people over here are running e85 here for boosted street use & those with money to waste run 98 octane unleaded with 2 bottles of octane boost per tank just to meet the octane level required for their expensive built engines. One thing I don’t like about e85 tho is how it draws water from the atmosphere into your tank so you have to make sure you use your fuel fast or make sure you keep your tank full & try keep any air out/ running a fuel cell is the safest way but not that practical for road use.
That’s not going into what fuels people use for the track or drag strip or burnout comps tho obviously that’s usually methanol or nitro or avgas
It's awesome seeing this...rather than just at a car show, or another drag race.
Yeah same as I thought. Nice to see it stretch its legs in a different environment
Why? it was just a public track day for people to have fun and experience a track, not one other person besides him was driving anything other than casually and taking their time, he sat in the lane that the other cars weren't in the entire time which at these events you only use if you want to pass someone and he sat there the whole time passing everyone he could even sometimes when other cars were in the other lane passing cars he would split the middle and he would pass in corners, he was driving too fast and aggressively for a casual public track day, no one else was being competitive at all even though there were plenty of cars that could have beaten him with half of the hp and then he uses a Eats Everything caption in the thumbnail like it was an actual racing event and he was competing against other people, pretty easy to "Eat Everything" when everyone else is driving slower on purpose and not trying to go fast, alot of tracks would have booted him after his first lap for doing that during a friendly public event where there are probably people on the track who have never been on one before and with no racing experience.
@@King_Flippy_Nipswere you there? Everyone gives it a stomp at these events no it's not competitive track racing but it's cool to see it go from an already rolling start that's the point.
Plus it's an old muscle car for fuck sake. Which was begging for the owner to floor it and hear that blown V8 roar.
@@TheSilverShadow17 we were literally at half throttle most of the time

Yeah, but it’s crazy how that nova has so much straight line power
@@ralphlazio505 it's a Ford Falcon. The bro is in Australia mate.
I know, he had so much left and I wanted to se another hit. I was equally impressed by the breaks on the Falcon, dude was last off the throttle last on the breaks every corner.
@@AnnatarTheMaia New Zealand actually.
The muscle car was only struggling for traction that's all
This is basically my racing theory in every racing game
It's funny when the driver says "it's fast for Big car." The Falcon was considered a compact car when it was made.
Yeah true that. Cars these days are like appliances on wheels
I wouldnt even be mad for being overtaken by this Aussie Monster, racing side by side with this is like livin the dream
The sweetest of V8 sounds. Music to my ears.
It's crazy how much power he's putting to such little tires. Needless to say, I can see why it laps everybody in the straight away.
Imagine looking in your rear view mirror and seeing this blue mad max coming in full bore… that blower would be menacing to say the least!
Night Rider will tell you all about it....
If only you had a street slick. This was so awesome. I always wanted to see something like this. Made me smile after a hard, hot ass day at work. This is awesome. Thank you
Thanks for your kind words, glad it made a difference for you. Events like this happen twice a year here in Auckland, we gotta make the best out of it!
Oh I wish we had a track like that here in the States. Plus looks like most drivers were respecting the turn. Here in the states everyone thinks they are a pro drag racer or pro drifter. I enjoyed the front and rear shots. Love how you walked everyone not to mention you did it without roasting the tires. Put a larger/softer compound (R888) and a set of coilovers and you will rule the nest!
Here I New Zealand we have very strict rules for events like these. Plus we're fully aware that if everyone was to mess up we would not have a second chance ever again
What are you on about? Every HPDE I've gone to for 15+ years looks like this except faster. There is probably a track within 5 hours of you where you can do this in the US. Probably less than 2. Pretty much every German sedan would crush this thing in the corners so badly it wouldn't catch them in the straights.
@@carlsjr7975
‘This thing’ has adjustable coilovers and disc brakes. It also weighs less than pretty much any German sedan, so, no.
Dude we have an amazing selection of tracks here in the US and 99% of people that go are hella cool and a great time. Shit I live in redneck Northern, CA and I have Sonoma raceway and Thunder Hill both within driving distance for a track weekend.
Clueless
This is a testament to the validity of true muscle car racing!
Now that's what I'm talking about! V8 power all day
I really appreciate this Andy. There's nothing like a blown big block 🌝
Haha awesome man, I just thought it would be good to see it from the driver's perspective
What about a blown V12...?
No a blown v12 isn't like a blown big block.
@@junit7590 The sound is different yes though can have the same or more displacement than that V8
@@kaedeschulz5422a blown v12 still won't make the torque of a big block V8
I read the info to see what kind of event this was because it didn’t look like any track day I’d been to… still had to be a lot of fun to just open it up in that setting even if your speed was being restricted due to the “cruising” rules. It’d be wild to see something like this with a good suspension and brake setup out at a proper track event.
Awesome sounds brah. Could listen to that sweet hum of the super charger all night. Must be a buzz stepping on the gas.
Thank You 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Love how most of the time it’s just coasting, can’t beat muscle power 😎💪
All my life I've always love jdm cars but man....after seeing this v8 thrust through these dream cars...dam...I'm loving it😊

That's cool man, thanks for sharing your story!
@2:31 - that four second "warming the tires up" looked like fun.
It was fun from start to end
The car is beautiful, powerful and also stable! The beauty and performance is insane! Also it is a circuit race, it's hard to see a muscle car in circuit races... People waste so much time building them for drag races, now you do an amazing video showing it on a circuit race! Amazing video dude! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much for the positive remarks, we really enjoyed ourselves and glad I was able to transmit that to you all
This wasn't a race dude. Everyone was clearly just cruising.
@@user-tc7fp1nu6t Well, at least it was shown on a real race track, not a drag 😅
I fricken love how he's just cruising it into the turns then nails it outta the turn and straight leave everybody in the rear view loli can't get enough of it, he must've spent 250 on gas easy lol
Yeah and it's C16 / E85 so yeah not cheap. But it's Smile Per Gallon at the end of the day
Oh trust me brother I totally agree with you 100 percent, in Hawaii everyone uses diesel for there tow trucks but for me it's big block all the way!!!
I've been road racing a muscle car for decades, a bad ass car, really road racing, it is a riot.
That blown engine and the drivers accent instantly made me think of Mad Max. "Last of the V8s".
Haha best comment so far
Thats the way to use a muscle car! Drag racing and burnouts dont give the true picture of how much fun a muscle car can be. This car shows the way, although I'd sooner live without the big blower sticking out the bonnet.
It was like watching a video game of a level ten car, driven on a level one track ......amazing !!!
nothing cooler than true aussie muscle fangin round a track with a polished blower takin the main stage
Someone gets it finally!
That is a bad ass car, very impressive.

That's how we do it here in New Zealand
power to weight ratio is phenomenal, leaves all others like they're sitting still. Great video thanks..
Thanks for watching!
Nah, It's pretty obvious this is just a track cruise after a car meet or something. They aren't racing. At 5:29 you can see a McLaren Senna just chillin in traffic.
@@SZfiftyfourDefenitly, either that or this ride has phenomenal handling.
yea that because it was a friendly public track day and most people were driving so casually and just relaxing and having fun they were effectively sitting still, at events like this when a car drives up and is going faster and in the lane the other cars arent then you let them pass, its basically an unwritten rule and is why most of the time all the cars were following the same line and taking their time, it was only when they wanted to pass that they would move to the other lane and speed up unlike this guy who sat in the "passing" lane the entire time and passed everyone every chance he could including in corners, also at least 75% of the people were in their daily drivers and most of the other cars had half or less of the hp of his car and a lot were likely bone stock, all the other cars were taking their time and having fun since the track was way too crowded and it was a friendly public track day, i noticed a lot of cars which would have destroyed his car if it were a race and they had a reason to compete, anyone of the decent AWD lighter cars on that track would have beaten him with less than half the hp especially one with a mid or midrear mounted engine, being able to explode out of corners and in straightaways is not going to let you win let alone compete on a track with a lot of corners, you just lose too much time due to the weight, bad aerodynamics and rear end only drive and also a weight ratio that is likely 60% front 40% rear at best.
I love muscle cars with the 68 Camaro being my favorite, the only reason i posted is because of the Eats Everything clickbait caption in the thumbnail which is just being delusional and pure fantasy for a muscle car on a track, and then when i noticed it was just a friendly public track day and that he was the only person driving aggressively and sat in the unofficial "passing" lane the entire time passing people who were driving casually in their daily drivers with alot being bone stock it kind of pissed me off a little, if your going to have an ego and brag in your thumbnail then maybe try doing it in an actual competitive event and showcase your build and driving skills and earning a reason to gloat.
Anyone with enough cash and some know how can build a 1000+ hp car in their garage just buying from the internet, there are so many good aftermarket parts and custom ECU's and wiring harnesses, transmissions etc... available these days and most come almost completely prebuilt with all the parts you need including adapters and extra parts that a couple of guys could build a car in a few weekends and the most they would likely require is someone to spend a couple of hours tuning it for them and setting up the timing if they didnt have the parts or knowledge, and anyone who was building a car for track racing would not choose a muscle car and most of them would likely be smart enough to film themselves being the only guy driving aggressively and passing everyone he can every chance he gets at a public track day while everyone else is just having fun.
I'm surprised you didn't get booted off the track, most tracks have rules even for public track days, all the bigger ones like nurburging for example stagger the time between each car let on the track by a decent margin and limit the number on the track at any given time and you are only allowed a couple of laps then you have to re-queue, there were far to many cars on that track at once especially for you to be driving like that and weaving in and out of cars that were 2 wide and going too fast into corners for a public event, you may be confident in your driving skills but it may have been the first time on a track for a lot of those people and lets face it as good as you think your car is you are far to heavy and do not have the brake capacity to stop quickly or move out of the way in an emergency or to correct if you spun out.
Also a goodcar with AWD with a power to weight ratio about 1/3 of what his car has would have gapped him after the first couple of corners, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS has the 5th fastest nurburgring lap of all time at 6:44 and it has half the power to weight ratio of his car and both are stock production models, the closest thing to a muscle car that performed well at nurburgring is the corvette C7 with the 39th fastest time and you can't even call that a muscle car anymore, its basically a budget supercar now.
I've never seen a car with a big blower going round a racetrack. Good stuff.
Dafuq kinda madness did I just witness? Sounds like a chaotically blissful symphony. Sweet vid.
that is a powerful, car eating beast!!!! what a violent work of art
When you make everyone look like they are going backwards, that's MUSCLE 😊😊
more like, everyone is cruising. no one is on the racing line. Cool car but it's not like other drivers are pushing from the looks of it

Nice power! Here in the States, we like our cars planted to the ground. Despite how many thousand horsepower you make, you can still keep body roll and flex to a min. Movement in any direction is a loss of performance forward.
Very impressive performance! It leaves the small cars way behind lol
All of the other cars were giving him tons of room and getting clear of the wreck that would eventually occur.
Yes looked that way.
Nah no risk of wreck at all, we were in control all of the time we spent on track

Much safer than driving daily on the streets in America ! Thanks for responding
Yes because that blower was creating a vacuum, no air left for them😂😂😂
When all you drive is a hammer, the track becomes a nail lol
Glad to see you went out there with discs, otherwise the pucker factor would be quite high
Thanks for sharing - this was bad ass !!!!!! 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Thanks for watching!
Man you were killing those Toyota trucks and mini vans. That 78 Honda cvcc never had a chance 🤦♂️
In an actual track day, that car couldn't pass anything lol. It does sound awesome though and fun in a straight line.
Looks fun! Bad ass cars out there.
Well well that was a fun ride!
2 laps pit for fuel.
Haha pretty much! Given it was E85 and C16 race fuel mix, we put in 40L and got two sessions out of it. She thirsty!
I want it as alarm clock! 😅
