My wife and I call Coosbay Speedway our happy place . We drove over for the day to watch all of you . We were impressed with all of you . Great job to all involved 😎👍
Glad y'all are out there having fun and you were able to keep the car straight when it kicked sideways on you! It was super cool seeing Jake's Javelin make an appearance in the video as well!
Glad you are ok, sorry you didn't get the pass you were looking for. Danny reaction was spot on what I was thinking from the live look, good thing you have quality aftermarket QA1 suspension components. Thanks for sharing this trip. I'm still trying to get caught up to your latest videos. 🍻 From 25:20 to 27:43 the video is frozen, just a heads up is all.
Liv, you might consider leaving some items in your trunk for traction ballast. A tool tote or bag placed as far back as possible in the trunk might do you good.
She can get traction by cleaning the tires with a small burnout and lower the PSI a bit in the tires. Just because they are hard tires does not mean a burnout and playing with air pressure is not required. I leaned these things when I first started racing. It's something you don't need to do on hard tires but it's a night and day difference when you do it
sure glad you were able to bring the tempest back under control and you did an awesome job of that and racing your car. a little better hookin up should help your e.t. for sure. thanks for the wonderfull video content
Wow that was an eye opener. I keep rewatching it and to me it looked like you got out of the grove just a little tiny bit, and on a dirty track, that's all it takes, but what a NICE SAVE!🏁
@@dennisnbrown from my understanding the fast guys don't like it when a street tire runs in the grove. The etiquette I was told is to stay slightly out of it.
Another guy suggested putting a toolbox in the trunk for extra grip. Course drag slicks is ur Best option! Along with stall conv & lower gear. Go getum Liv! 😉
you should try lowering the air pressure in the back tires a little softer tire will grip better the a hard tire. it will help the wheel hop issue. too bad you don't have front adjustable shocks to help get the nose to go up to send the weight back to help traction
Are you doing a burnout. A small burn out should help, even on street tires, you could try lowering air pressure abit, if you have double adjustable shocks out back, loosen up the extension, keep the rebound tight.
We love Coos Bay speedway here in Oregon the pits are dirt the staging lanes are pavement never had the problems like you had Tire spin water problems I2 Race Street Tires Friday night Grudge Match would love to do dragon drive with you guys
Glad you didn't hit the wall, good save. Work on the editing, you are cutting away a we bit too soon. Javelin was cool.....too bad the video froze up for so long and cut out. Enough complaining, looks like you are enjoying the trip, and thanks for sharing.
The track will look wet but it's the glue they put on the track that makes it like that unless there is water but the track guys would clean that right away
if you dont want to lower the back, maybe leave all your stuff in the truck and see if that helps and shift it manually at the rpm you want, just have fun and learn for ne t time.
I agree it's all about having fun plus she is learning so she should not stress about it but it would of been a good idea if she went to a couple test and tune nights around her place before doing the rally so she would of had things better set and learned more tricks and tips.
All you have to do is really spin the tires you don't have to do a full "Burnout" with smoke all you need is a small burnout to clean the tires off but it's good to do it every time but you don't have to do a big smoky burnout like you would if you were running slicks or radials
You should do a little burnout that way it cleans the tires off so you don't have the tires full of dirt and rocks that's why many hard tires cars do burnouts it's not to get them hot it's to clean the crap off the tires that way you have better traction then if you tires have dirt and rocks on them
I didn't like that track. It looked like it had an incline at the end and a curve. You never looked in trouble to me. Big Wave is a forgiving soul. Good job you had a suspension that kept you out of trouble. I'm all about using the racing slicks myself anyway. The '66 Nova run was almost John Force worthy.
Now look here, Missy. If I'm gonna have your back, that doesn't mean it's time for your best "Roscoe P. Coaltrain in hot pursuit" impression, savvy?? Daniel-San freaked but good - and I wound up with a skid mark in my britches!! Super Dave Osborne would have been proud, God Bless and Keep him. Seriously though, you've got some pretty good reflexes, so the balance was there - I'll wager it looked a lot worse than it actually was. If nothing else, you veered AWAY from the other lane. My dear, this is what is known as a "greasy" driving condition. You had a thin layer of dirt on your tread; just enough to interfere with traction, once water gets involved. Think of it as a warm-weather equivalent to hitting a patch of black ice - greasy tires don't hook any better than icy ones do. That's what put you sideways, and the jouncing likely was the track compound breaking through the film at odd moments, giving tiny bursts of hook instead of the continuous grip you needed. Here in Cornhusker land, our county roads are a mixture of sand and pea-gravel; it only takes about five days without rain before the dust starts accumulating in layers, just waiting for a bit of moisture. And when the H20 finally does arrive, it's a real slip-and-slide adventure for the first half hour or so, until the greasy is fully emulsified, and no longer a pain in the ol' vertical smile. Since I drive on the rocks for two miles at the beginning and end of my commute five days a week, I'm more than a little bit blas`e about the phenomenon, but I can easily sympathize and empathize with the terror one might endure if they're not familiar with the situation themselves. The best thing about it all is that you safely rode it out like a trouper. Big Wave's bulk came in handy, too - think what that ride would have been like if you were piloting something that weighed around 2800 pounds like a Chevy Monza, or whatever. Okay, I'll shut up for now - but not before declaring that you owe Daniel-San a good back rub, and me a two-gallon pitcher of Colortini's!! {And I'm sure Danny will give you a back rub as well}. Y'all know the drill; safe, fun, 10-Q for content, blah-blah, woof-woof, Yadda-Yodda {sic}, Excelsior!!! Rest up and hit a hot tub ASAP. Couldn't hurt.😎 Cheers!!!
You let the motion of the car cause you to move the steering wheel left, right, left right and so forth after it got loose. Don't do that! You would have lost it if you were moving fast. Hopefully you learned something from that mistake.
Myself I wouldn't paint it, I would leave it like it is, you have to consider, you live in California, so don't make it attractive enough to be stolen, just my opinion okay 😊

GREAT VIDEO AND THANKS FOR SHARING. I LEARNED SO MUCH.
That was a great save 😊, I have been watching you, on your road trip, I wish I could have done that myself, but I am retired now 😊
You’re doing great! It’s all about the journey

GREAT JOB SAVING THE SIDEWAYS CAR!!!!
If that was a Crustang it would have been straight in the wall!
Good job y’all on taking me with y’all. Excuse my lingo but I really enjoy y’all’s videos and. GO BIG WAVE 🌊

ZhpGarage on the move! I can tune shift points for you….everyone needs a Master mechanic in there life.
I live in Coos county in Far Northern New Hampshire pronounced Co-Oss , You two are on a trip of a life time!!!
Keep enjoying!!!👍
That scared me. Nice save.
Great episode guys. Also gave save on your last run!
Wow that was an eye opener. I keep rewatching it and to me it looked like you got out of the grove just a little tiny bit, and on a dirty track, that's all it takes, but what a NICE SAVE!🏁
I stayed out of the groove because Im on a street tire
I don’t understand. The groove is the cleanest part of the track. Regardless of tire it is the best place to run
@@dennisnbrown from my understanding the fast guys don't like it when a street tire runs in the grove. The etiquette I was told is to stay slightly out of it.
That's why you gotta do a small burnout to clean the tires off or you will have those issues all the time

Great save!
fun fun fun love your videos keep having fun and be careful

Javelin looks like a mad maxmobile.
Great save Liv. Is this the first event you guys have done? If not, how does it compare to other ones?
Nice save girl.
The car runs very good. A bit mor aggressive gear and dot race tires would really wake it up.
That was crazy run. Think about lowering tire pressure.
Yeah a small burnout to clean the tires and lowering tire pressure is the trick on hooking or spinning
I forget which track it is that Billy on the street race channel races at the shut down is up hill I love the outlaw back woods tracks
Great track. Getting sideways and saving it was good to see. Cheers U 2.
I AM GLAD YOU ARE OKAY.
Great job glad you saved it and the javelin looks like it should be in road warrior cool ok later ❤ hey we're Slayer 😁
Omg 😮. Almost lost it. Was gnarly.

You have to fix that charger with a big block to make 1500hp and show them how its done GO GET THEM guys ❤❤❤
Glad you didn't hit the wall, good save.

Javelin was cool.....too bad the video froze up for so long and cut out.

How long has that track been there? Had a buddy who lived there and he never mentioned it. (although he had just moved up there)
Wow great job saving the wall from any damage👍🏻 Sure looked wet 🤷🏽♂️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
The track will look wet but it's the glue they put on the track that makes it like that unless there is water but the track guys would clean that right away
Great save, didn't want to see the ole Pontiac crash.
I LOVE MY HOT ROD FAMILY!!!!! SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Keep your chin up and learn from the experience. You're doing good.
Thank you, I will
The right lane was better on track. Not sure if you had lane choice? Just glad you are safe Olivia, and that the Pontiac just had a scare.
She is a driver 👍🏻

Awesome day, Awesome company….. Racing hot rods and making friends ……Nothin better. Well there is Fishin, but besides that 😉
That 6.0 is a beast!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾‼️
Does the video freeze at the 26 minute mark for anyone else?
You’re stressing too much on times it’s a street car …. Have fun Olivia! 😄

Hi Olivia and Danny
Coos bay has the most beautiful sand dunes.
Nice recovery actually! That would have been way worse if you didn't have amazing reflex on your control.
GNARLY got a deep hook set in me. 👍
i see all the old videos have been removed
man i would hate to see your car wrecked glad you caught it!

OMG!!!! New wheels next time for the haters and kick ass. No cry babies at the race track.
oh you know jake? haha ive hung out with him some !

I did do a burnout before that pass, we just didn't have footage
U may need to let some air out of tires when raceing if ur not already doing that
A Diesel Chevelle??
Would have sucked flipping it at that speed....some harness straps or roll cage might be smart.

Just dry the tires off don't burn them out if you smoked a radial tire it'll make it greasy
Are you legit sponsored by Steve Austin's Beer?
Yes. Technically it's El Segundo Brewing Company
@@GnarlySpeedShop that's so rad!

I don’t know why you aren’t doing a small burnout each time. Even street tires need a cleaning. You’ve wasted a lot of time on every pass.
Welcome to my state!!!
