    I've had an N+1 for about three years. I continue to be amazed how compliant the bike is off-road, a feel similar to an '80's mtb,.Yet as soon as you ride on-road you're on something more like my Bianchi carbon race bike! The beauty of the manipulation possible with carbon lay up's. I ride primarily off-road with it and take on some pretty technical trails. I once had 17th on KOM for the year on a particularly rocky downhill on the Vielo. Doesn't sound much until you look at what was quicker. All big travel mtb's and there was only a handful of seconds in it. I still love it and rave about it even though the "new bike syndrome" has long gone. My only regret is my version 1 doesn't have that amazing 50mm clearance in 700C.

    The Vielo is a beautiful looking bike Simon, and obviously rides as well as it looks. I would love to explore that direction but will stick to my Ti Tempest, it looks to have a similarly ‘racy’ riding position and can also take a 700c x 50 tyre. I currently have the 43mm Rock and Roads on it for winter gravel riding, some 32mm road tyres on a pair of Roval wheels for road riding, and a pair of Hutchinson Override’s in 700 x 45 for summer gravel mounted on WTB rims. I recently found out that the Rock and Roads are available in 700 x 48 in tubeless ready but currently only in the USA-I have been really impressed with their grip, comfort, and fast rolling on the road in the 43mm size so will get a pair when I visit my daughter in Iowa next year.

    Nice video but I think I'll stick with my Mason Bokeh.
    15k plus in the past year its now a very comfortable ride as well as my go to bike when deciding which bike I own to ride. I guess its a Persian choice - what works for one may not work for another.

    Loving my OnOne Free Ranger (full carbon and SRAM Rival £1400)
    Got 700x45mm tyres and extra set of wheels, cassette, rotors wth 32mm tyres for when I ride mainly road (selling my old Trek Madone).
    Did a Review on my Channel.
    Sonder Bomber bar and shorter stem, swapped 42t for a 38t chainring as cassette is 11-42.
    Great for Argyll and for Dukes Weekender in September 😃

    It’s amazing what they are doing with carbon! With those leaf spring seat stays, the wide 700x50c clearance are a great added bonus with big tires to add to the stability on ruff terrain. I’d be interested to see how it reacts with 650b rims and Mtn bike tires for extreme weather conditions.

    I’ve just come back to this review tonight, really enjoyed it the second time and I too have that bike I go too that’s also made my road bike sort of redundant. I’m running sram force 1 x 11 mechanical and my question is are you sold by the AXS as I’m contemplating upgrading to that in the new year, hoping to make the bike that makes me smile even better?

    • @alwaysanotheradventure
      @alwaysanotheradventure  11 месяцев назад

      If I’m honest, no. The 2x AXS I had on the demo FARA bike I recently to review was very smooth. This 1x sometimes feels like - occasionally - it doesn’t engage smoothly. It’s in the LBS trying to get to the bottom of it. A friend rode it with the same question you have and he ended up up-grading to electronic.

    A Felt Breed 20 is half the price!
    Same for a lauf allroad.
    A sonder camino can be a quarter the price.
    I don't ride enough to warrant the cost and with the bike industry dead set on making bikes obselete as quick as possible there seems no point spending big bucks for me personally.

    This bike would suit my riding perfectly. I've got an Scott Addict Gravel 10 on order which is another fast gravel bike like the Vielo so should I wait for the Scott or swap? The Veilo is considerably more money and I wish there were more build options with gear choice because I've no need for a mullet set-up. I got plenty of time to think they Scott is still months away.

    What’s the actual difference between a £5 k bike.. and a 11kg decathalon triban rc500 sora £650 with gravel tyres …
    does the 5k bike go 10x faster. Does it take 10x longer to get dirty, do parts last 10x longer… is it 90% the weight? What does a super bike get actually you
    I’m considering…. As pricey bike… £1500-£2000… but I’m not sure what it gets me
    Both bikes still have gears. I just did 75k road and off road to box hill…. I was keeping up with some roadies on hills… flats is no issue.… but some blasted past me on very expensive aero bikes up hill.
    EBikes, on a hill.. forget it, they are fast

    • @alwaysanotheradventure
      @alwaysanotheradventure  2 года назад

      You need to ride them to see. They might not be for you. I did a track day with some serious bikes a few years ago - the difference between the nice bikes (which would be fine) and the 10K Heroine bike was astounding. It leapt underneath me. It's so hard to describe, but it's a bit like riding a pony or a race horse.

    • @seanmcfarlane2011
      @seanmcfarlane2011 2 года назад

      Price increases with bikes in relation to clear improvements in the bike itself diminish incrimentally the higher you go. I'm not clever enough to be sure I've got my words correct there but hopefully you know what I mean!! So a 5k bike will never be ten times better than a 500 pound one. But people are willing to pay a surprising amount for relatively small gains. Once you get over the 1500 to 2k range the improvements versus cash are small so and i reckon that's therefore a good range to go for for something good.

      @fisharefriends598 2 года назад

      @@seanmcfarlane2011 more money… diminishing returns…. I’m not a pro… but fitness level on Komoot is at the athletic level.. I think I’d get practical enjoyment at a 105 level… carbon frame, say 9kg…. But I’m wondering if I’d get even more out of a sub 8kg bike…. The cost is a huge diff once you move up from 105 though…
      But do I buy an e bike… a 105 carbon… something even nicer…. I need to try them out
