Please send Hank to eastern Idaho! I will help pay for the 7 day trip as much as I can. MONDAY: Get a gravel bike from Dave's Bike Shop then test ride it on the Idaho Falls Riverwalk bike path that leads into Gem Lake Bike Park for GMBN sort of fun. TUESDAY: Blacktail Recreational Area is an epic climb to Ririe Reservoir then it is gravel roads to Heise Hot Springs for a soak. WEDNESDAY: 100 km of mostly flat gravel in splendid isolation on the Ashton to Tetonia to Ashton Rail to Trail with epic bridges and views. THURSDAY: Warm River Campground to Island Park to Warm River Campground on the old Yellowstone rail line. FRIDAY: Craters of the Moon National Park and the Clif Bar Factory. SATURDAY: Join Rebecca Rush scouting out trails for Rebecca's Private Idaho gravel bike races. SUNDAY: Pack out your bike in Idaho Falls for the UK and maybe get a shower.
Would be cool for these ultra-distance or climbing challenges (Hank, Si, Conor, Ollie, etc.) if GCN would put a distance graphic at the bottom occasionally so we have an idea what their progress is as the film progresses. Similar to TdF stages showing major terrain features and distance progress.
Yeah def. I would like to see a preview of the course as well at the beginning with the vertical profile, gravel, mud, cobble, tarmac sections laid out. We love seeing Hank suffer, but we really want to when, where and how.
Hank’s challenges are so massive I feel a longer RUclips video (even if I am grateful for it) doesn’t do it justice! Deffo needs an uncut version over on GCN+ 😉
I think Hank has a great personality. He's very positive and optimistic, enjoys himself and the little things which probably helps him to keep going on theese rides. Also he's probably pretty fit and has experience. Mate, you are an absolute beast and made that one look easy to be honest. Very motivational and you are such an exemplar! Cheers!
All I have to say is that hank is a Jedi knight here - the force was with him. Not one flat or mechanical, and an inspired use of food oil for lubrication? And the marvel of just continuous motion except for brief points. Bravo, Hank. Once again the GCN technical staff and filming crew make what was no doubt long and challenging look beautiful and inspirational. The choice of music was great too.
Slogging in rain and mud can really wear you down. He’s right, “always on” the pedals and continuously muscling the front end is both physically and mentally draining. His positivity is the understated key element to his success. Crack on Hank, crack on!
Been watching your epic rides on GCN plus and I think you have become a bit of a legend on the channel, your endurance and willingness to take on some awesome challenges is both impressive and inspiring.
I would love to see the uncut version as I thought Hank was close to a breaking point, in particular when he didn't stop for pub dinner. HUGE respect Hank.
Here's a tip that was shared with me by my friend Danny Chew. He won RAAM twice. He always wore two pairs of bibs on his ultra rides. I adopted this strategy on my 12 hour rides. So much more comfortable.
These type of adventures are my favorite and they are done very well in terms of edit/sound/scenery/etc. Both here and into the mountain bike channel's.
Hank, hat off to you geezer! That was one monster ride…and doing it on your own is amazing! Thanks for taking up the challenge and not giving up in the face of adversity. Inspirational
Way to freakin’ go, Hank! You are a beast. Granted, there were times during this video that I was legitimately concerned for you, especially riding at night through the grass where there didn’t seem to be a trail, and when it looked like you were bonking. I hope GCN gave you a few days off to recover.
Great achievement!!! Well done and that ride looks epic! I cycled a few months back at 70 mile and it was my worse ride ever as I thought I bonked at 20 miles which is not like me but carried on and grinded slowly but eventually reached 70 miles where I felt off and strange so I took a Covid 19 test then seen I was positive so I felt a great sense of happiness that I rode 70 mile with covid. Least I had a excuse for being slow ;) Send Ollie on that ride next ;)
Talk about wetting my appetite. Hank has these rides nailed. Make me want to get out there every time. Ive done the dragon ride, London to paris twice and i see this route as my next challenge. Well done Hank another superb video.
I hope you got a little bonus for this ride mate. You always seem to draw the short straw when it comes to theses monumental challenges. Well done Hank 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Gotta have some inclement weather for an epic ride and when it offers scenes like @3:44, 10:18 and 11:34 it's just so so worth the inconvenience. A mental alleviation when deep in the Pain Cave, or a wry smile and a pause of recollection whilst depleting the contents of a pantry post ride.
Absolutelely love these type of videos from GCN, they are my absolutely favorite. Beautiful UK routes, challenging mission and Hank being... Hank 🤣 It's interesting though to see that even the most experienced riders will time and time again forget (or stubbornly ignore) the basics, keep yourself properly fueled! Lack of hydration and food for the long journey will make even the best stop eventually.
GCN: Manon's going on an epic ride! Let's get her a full nutritional workup! Also GCN: Hank's going on an epic ride! Have him wait until he's a few hours in before he stops for food! Amazing, Hank!
Respect Hank. That was massive. Love these sorts of videos so keep it up GCN. I agree with the others that said a longer version would be great on GCN+
Hank is a machine! Watching his smooth pedaling after 20+hours of riding is amazing! I'm pedaling squares after 5 hours LOL. Not to mention fighting the weather and subsequent poor trail conditions. Great work, sir.
Ok, GCN - this time I was impressed. Simon and Manon doing SBT is impressive but something I do too. Same with the woman presenter who did Unbound a few years back. Same with the big climb videos. Good viewing, but I’ve ridden many too. But given the weather and trail conditions, Hank did something special with this one. Great work man!!!
Being a local to the Salisbury Plain military firing ranges you could have used the Imber range perimeter path which is always open regardless of flags
Someone please get Hank tested for being Insane! Hank great job on all your adventures and challenges. No matter what your next adventure is, I can't wait to see it. Good Luck
Wow, 'Hank the Tank' - GCN's GOAT. What we now need is a GCN Team Endurance Competition, a 'GCN TEC'. Looking forward to next level chuckles, winces, scenery and inspiration 😊 #YouKnowItMakesSense
Mind boggling. That’s insane, even by Hank standards. Beautiful film work again. I can’t even fathom riding that kind of distance in anything less than, what, two weeks? Hats off, Hank.
Seeing your adventure brought me tears of joy. It looked like so much fun! Biking well into the night seemed a bit overzealous to me though, sleep is important! As long as you are having fun though 😄
What an absolute legend! Hank keeps pushing the boundaries of physical & mental capability... with unmatched humour!! I'm just about to download the Komoot route on my Garmin to follow suit.
Absolutely stunning. What an effort. I love Kansas but this certainly could leave Unbound in the gravel dust if someone got the idea to organize an event on these ridgeways. That's a bucket list adventure even solo.
Did the peddars way this year before then heading across to brancaster, I met the guy who designed the old chalk way route, he was setting his time, we rode together for a bit. my first bike packing experience, loved it. Recommend stopping at local store in village before Holme, stocked with loads of local beer - perfect for the reward on Holme beach.
Super ride Hank! The views of the countryside were stunning. I'm sorry you had to deal with so much bad weather. But adversity and personal challenges makes the difference between a great ride and an epic ride. Thanks for bringing us along on your epic ride.
well done Hank! You are a survivor. oh man, the olive oil trick! And I thought this is something you should never do so you don't look like an amateur, and then you see a pro cyclist in need using it like it was nothing. Made me feel better about what my head was telling me in times of need. Wouldn't be nice to have an episode on lubricants or other stuff you can use when in need if you are on a bike for those times when we aren't sure if we should use something? When I was a kid I used a lot of burnt oil (that horrendous black mass of oil that used to dirt my trousers sigh)
First off well bloody done mate! For me the thing I liked most was the fact you get to see and experience the amazing scenery pretty much the whole way. Being out in the middle of nowhere on an ancient trail coast to coast going through it all looked amazing. I would be happy just to do a section of it!
Where would you like to see us send Hank next?
The Great Divide Trail 😮
Please send Hank to eastern Idaho! I will help pay for the 7 day trip as much as I can. MONDAY: Get a gravel bike from Dave's Bike Shop then test ride it on the Idaho Falls Riverwalk bike path that leads into Gem Lake Bike Park for GMBN sort of fun. Send him everywhere 😂😂😂
Plus in your way riding why you didn’t buy an off road cycling shoes 😆😆make you life easier it’s GCN 💰💰💰💰
Trans Pyrenees, he will almost die and we will love it.
To train with Barry Nobles.
Another video of GCN trying to kill Hank and I am absolutely here for it.
To be fair, he's slightly suicidal himself.
🤣🤣I'm having popcorn watching him absolutely suffer savagely...
I think Hank tries to kill Hank. GCN just gives him the means and opportunity.
@@robyn2791 Exactly.
Hear, hear!
Absolutely! It would add more context to their current effort.
Yeah def. I would like to see a preview of the course as well at the beginning with the vertical profile, gravel, mud, cobble, tarmac sections laid out. We love seeing Hank suffer, but we really want to when, where and how.
"No music, nothing, just me and the open outdoors and this great route." That's how you do it, Hank - well done!
Hank’s challenges are so massive I feel a longer RUclips video (even if I am grateful for it) doesn’t do it justice! Deffo needs an uncut version over on GCN+ 😉
Same, I was unimpressed by the coverage but with compressing 30+ hours into 20mins I guess they had to cut a lot out.
Some people like it uncut ;)
Working with Mark Beaumont had an influence on Hank. He is becoming an ultra endurance machine.
I lived in the UK for 40 years and never realised these kind of routes existed, kudos Hank 👍🏻
You create your own just look at the gps and elevations
There are loads of great routes all around the country!
Cheers!
Hank is becoming synonymous with epic. This really does deserve aGCN+ film.
NOW THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL CYCLING! Not racing against anyone but yourself! I love it Hank! Kudos to you!
Using olive oil on that beautiful Italian bike 😂 It’s almost poetic
I think that one of my favorite things about this channel is that it often shows how beautiful the UK really can be. Also good on ya Hank.
Slogging in rain and mud can really wear you down. He’s right, “always on” the pedals and continuously muscling the front end is both physically and mentally draining.
His positivity is the understated key element to his success. Crack on Hank, crack on!
“It has to be said”, this was a great video. It also adds a human touch seeing the camera crew occasionally. Great stuff Hank and thanks
Been watching your epic rides on GCN plus and I think you have become a bit of a legend on the channel, your endurance and willingness to take on some awesome challenges is both impressive and inspiring.
Hank is an absolute beast. He takes on the most awsome challenges!
I would love to see the uncut version as I thought Hank was close to a breaking point, in particular when he didn't stop for pub dinner. HUGE respect Hank.
Awesome ride Hank. Every time I watch one of your masochistic rides it inspires me to jump on the bike.
Cheers Hank👍
Here's a tip that was shared with me by my friend Danny Chew. He won RAAM twice. He always wore two pairs of bibs on his ultra rides. I adopted this strategy on my 12 hour rides. So much more comfortable.
Ha, that's a trick up my sleeve (well, sort of) when riding in winter.
As an average rider built like a toothpick, I want to try this on a regular ride!
We'll have to test this one out!
I'm, um, bigger. I wonder if 3 bibs is an option....
Hey Ty, no wonder you butt looked a little puffy! Looking forward to riding with you the next time you’re in Cincinnati.
That drone folllow shot at 16:58--Amazing and unexpected!
These type of adventures are my favorite and they are done very well in terms of edit/sound/scenery/etc. Both here and into the mountain bike channel's.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Hank still had energy to go against the PRO racers after this, what a beast! Awesome content!
Liked it after 3 seconds of the video, because I knew this would be truly epic.
This was GREAT, but I'm dying to see an hour+ long epic version of an adventure like this!
what an epic journey.. well done, Hank.. You are truly a legend.
Hank, hat off to you geezer! That was one monster ride…and doing it on your own is amazing! Thanks for taking up the challenge and not giving up in the face of adversity. Inspirational
Glad you enjoyed it Nahum!
Awesome epic Hank and the crew. Hope there will be a long form version on GCN+! It deserves it 😊🏆🚴♂️💪
Way to freakin’ go, Hank! You are a beast. Granted, there were times during this video that I was legitimately concerned for you, especially riding at night through the grass where there didn’t seem to be a trail, and when it looked like you were bonking. I hope GCN gave you a few days off to recover.
Way to go Hank. Unbound Gravel Race here you come!!
Hank is the best. Love watching his crazy adventures!
We absolutely need a longer version! With more thoughts and emotions! It deserves almost full story movie
Talk about wetting my appetite. Hank has these rides nailed. Make me want to get out there every time. Ive done the dragon ride, London to paris twice and i see this route as my next challenge. Well done Hank another superb video.
Hank, that was absolutely amazing. Legendary in fact. Looking forward to seeing what GGN produces next. In fact I think you should do a one hour film.
Those last few shots of Hank on the beach staring at the North Sea are amazing. Great ride!
Wow Hank, that’s next level! Such a phenomenal distance on gravel! 🤩
I hope you got a little bonus for this ride mate. You always seem to draw the short straw when it comes to theses monumental challenges. Well done Hank 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Let's not pretend he wasn't the first one to put his hand up for this challenge! 😂
Gotta have some inclement weather for an epic ride and when it offers scenes like @3:44, 10:18 and 11:34 it's just so so worth the inconvenience.

a classic! what a great video, and I am so happy to have watched. Thanks, Hank! A real inspiration!
Just Hank, the outdoors, no music, his thoughts… and a support vehicle. Epic & luxurious, I’m in!👏🏻👏🏻
GCN: Manon's going on an epic ride! Let's get her a full nutritional workup!
Also GCN: Hank's going on an epic ride! Have him wait until he's a few hours in before he stops for food!
Amazing, Hank!
These are the videos I watch GCN for, not the top 10 lists or anything like that. Just inspirational stuff that shows what can be done on a bike
This is a whole lot of entertainment packed into a 22 min video. Thanks.
More epic ride video with hank , SI and olie please hahaha totally love this kind of content love your channel
There are episodes when GCN is like watching Top Gear on bikes. This is definitely one of those episodes. Well done!

Awesome ride and adventure! Loved it! Hank was the perfect person for this challenge!
Thanks Hank and crew for the ride along....it sounds like he was ill before the ride ? The legend lives on !
Someone please get Hank tested for being Insane! Hank great job on all your adventures and challenges. No matter what your next adventure is, I can't wait to see it. Good Luck
I don't think many CGN guys can pull this off. Well done. He made it look easy.
Beautiful cinematography. Hank truly enjoys giving us these amazing rides.
This was epic... Huge congrats to Hank for this incredible feat...
What an epic ride and experience! Well done,Hank!
Truly epic! And beautiful scenery. Amazing achievement, Hank.
Congratz Hank! i really love watching this kind of video. love every minute of it.
Wow, 'Hank the Tank' - GCN's GOAT.
What we now need is a GCN Team Endurance Competition, a 'GCN TEC'. Looking forward to next level chuckles, winces, scenery and inspiration 😊
#YouKnowItMakesSense
I really enjoyed watching this. Brilliant and inspiring too. Class work:)
Max respect for Hank, would really love to be like him one day. So inspiring.
As always Hank, you smashed it :)
Wow that was nuts Hank, what a legend! Plus the drone aerial footage showed the English countryside at its best. Well done guys!

Amazing video. Amazing ride .Hank , you are the real deal!!!
Always amazing what kind of challenges Hank does, he is a huge inspiration for me!
I'm new here, but Hank, you're the man for taking this on.
Hank us a maniac. My mentor! Great job. Amazing ride. Thanks for sharing.
Epic beyond epicness, well done Hank, what a hero. Have a day off mate.
Chapeau - love this kind of riding. That route has just jumped onto my to do list for next time I'm back in the UK! Nice one Hank
Inspirational! Love Hank's honesty ( and appetite)!
This was TRULY epic. Thanks for sharing.
Congrats Hank. Absolute legend. Killed it.
Insanity, I couldnt ride half that distance in the best conditions! Love de Pinarello😍. Hank is a monster!
Kudos to you Hank, an epic ride and awesome video.
Massive effort. Well done Hank! 👏Hats off to you sir. Fantastic scenery and what a cool bike. 👍🙏
Awesome ride Hank! Incredible scenery. Thanks for your efforts and for sharing.
@Hank much respect.
Even more Kudos.
I salute you.
Loved the ride alot.
Absolutely stunning. What an effort. I love Kansas but this certainly could leave Unbound in the gravel dust if someone got the idea to organize an event on these ridgeways. That's a bucket list adventure even solo.
A massive achievement Hank - plenty of time to ponder on this ride! A great bike and wheelset too. Next time, what about a return trip on a unicycle?
Hank, you are a machine buddy that looked so gruelling and amazing at the same time and you smashed it, well done mate
Absolutely awesome achievement Hank! 🙌
11:42 **Goring-On-Thames. Will excuse a bit of delirium after that epic ride though. Good on ya Hank!
All I got to say was that was EPIC! Awesome job on conquering that!
Hank is a beast - I love his segments 👍
Did the peddars way this year before then heading across to brancaster, I met the guy who designed the old chalk way route, he was setting his time, we rode together for a bit. my first bike packing experience, loved it. Recommend stopping at local store in village before Holme, stocked with loads of local beer - perfect for the reward on Holme beach.
Hank you simply rock it - do you never get cold, just riding in short sleeves all the time :)
.... And the "Best Suffering-Award" goes to ..... our big brother Hank!
Congrats Hank... 👍💪
Super ride Hank! The views of the countryside were stunning. I'm sorry you had to deal with so much bad weather. But adversity and personal challenges makes the difference between a great ride and an epic ride. Thanks for bringing us along on your epic ride.

Hank you legend i love this video well done
Hank would be awesome to ride with !! So so positive !!

Being out in the middle of nowhere on an ancient trail coast to coast going through it all looked amazing. I would be happy just to do a section of it!

You're a beast Hank, well done.
