Fantastic video. Thank you. I would love to see a video on how your presenters setup their bikes to ensure the constant flow of new bikes are going to work for them. I (and many riders I know) obsess over saddle position, reach...moving things a few mm at a time until things are dialed in. Your presenters are riding new bikes all the time and doing big rides on them where there's no room for error in setup or injuries could result. Thanks for your consideration.

Knewal, I agree, with Si's presentation making me want to jump on a plane and do the ride in a day.
I used to think the same about distance, 20k seemed a long way. But after bouts of injury and ill health I decided the couch wasn't the place to be. Building up over a couple of years, this Southern summer just gone, I completed East West traverses over two major passes in New Zealand's Southern Alps. 290Km in 15hours and 215km in 11hours respectively. Watching Si I could relate to his comments but also given I'm 61 year's old and a quarter of a century older, I also felt a bit smug that I could have paced him. Certainly I didn't complain as much, but then I had nobody to complain to, no camera, no support crew. He caught the highs and lows, and the need to feed beautifully. Kudos!

GCN does a good job with product placement. Not loud enough to turn you off, but in focus enough to please the sponsors. I imagine the revenue from your eyeballs as the product (i.e. the money RUclips pays to GCN for attracting viewers) is a small fraction of the product-placement revenue. I'm guessing that if you "like" the video, GCN gets even more money from RUclips. So if you like the "free" content, be sure to "like" it!

usually a big fan, but have to voice my opinion on this, not sure encouraging folks to head down and go for it are what these routes are all about, keeping them free for access to all users if a bigger challenge than riding it fast, we would all be having a pop if a couple of horse riders came down the track flat out ! surely the appeal of gravel and tracks is not to blast it but apart from that keep up the good content.

uhhh si, random good advice from someone who does multi centuries a few times a year
dont eat garbage, if u need food, then sit and have food, if u are thirsty, drink till you are not thirsty
this is not a time trial or a race, this is a test of fortitude and endurance,
being able to keep a strong pace through out the entire distance is how solid paces and time checks are kept
keep up these kind of videos, i hope they inspire more people to get out there and brave the elements and natural pathing foibles
and realize, this is really biking, this is why we get on a bike, top just go, and keep going
you keep going too, ngl mate

Well done to the GCN presenter non-plus ultra. Si's amazing. He's funny without trying hard to be funny. He's easygoing. He's a hardman on the bike. He's honest and earnest. Damn it, Dan Lloyd, Si needs a raise.

This video is impeccably timed. Went out this morning for a 150+ km ride (which for me is a 6 hour effort and I've never ridden that sort of distance solo).
However my wheel broke after 50k and I had to abandon, will try again in summer when I have the time again.

solid effort si, you seem to power through and just get it done, in good humour whilst being able to communicate all the way to the end

epic ride and great video editing as well. It had a real story with a proper compelling beginning middle and end as well as Simon being one to the best presenters of gcn.

Love the content and the video production. I’ve recently started biking again and planning my first ever 100 miler on my MTB. I’ve decided if I can do this then I will invest into a road bike or a gravel bike. I still haven’t decided. But I do know this Channel is a huge inspiration and has become a central point for my new knowledge

Well done Si, love your content and this is right up there. Just a question… did you find sheer mental exhaustion affecting ability and decision making towards the end of the day?

Si, it would be cool if there was an exchange program for outdoorists from diffeent countries that helps them find boarding and guides for quick and easier travel abroad for hiking, biking, camping, surfing, etc. nice vid

Epic ride Si, congrats!! I was cheering for you at the end. You genuinely put a smile on my face. Good show.

So when should we expect a GGN (Global Gravel Network)? ;) Great work Si, and your fear of cows is still one of the funniest parts of GCN videos!
