I don't know why I'm typing this in third person, it's me, Zach. I guess it just sounded professional. Thanks for buying things and thanks for watching my internet video projects. Goodbye see you soon.
Normally I hate talking head shots but somehow I'm able to listen to this man for 14 minutes without getting bored. Subscribed good job
I find his never ending quips to be so annoying they could use this video to torture terrorist at GITMO into telling where the hostages are.
This is why you need to use Resolve! Your issue with matching footage between the 2 cameras is EASILY remedied with some software in Resolve. They have a Color Space Transformation tool that has baked in presets for taking typical Red, Arri, Sony, Panasonic, sRGB, colorspaces, and converting it to the Blackmagic color space you used on your Ursa. Or you could do vice versa. In real time. Such a smoother workflow in the end. Plus node based grading and work inside Fusion is top.
I wish the Pocket cameras were the same body styling as the URSA... Just smaller.
Dude that would be so cool. Much easier to fit on gimbals
@@ZachMayfield btw - would love to have you on my podcast! It's called Top Comment we chat about RUclips.... filmmaking... everything! If you're down let me know and shoot me an email pt@patricktomasso.com :)
@@impatrickt Bro I just realized who you are haha! I watched your XT4 content when that cam got announced, I'll email you cause the podcast sounds dope!
There is one. Their studio action camera. It’s like the BMPCC 4K. Just need to add their monitor.
@@elissitdesign I have one but it's terrible to use. The camera still needs proper controls on camera. It's not what an mini Ursa body should be.
Interestingly you mirror my exact thoughts on the G2. Lovely camera, it's an annoying shape, but the image quality is stunning. One thing I massively appreciate is the fact that it turns on immediately, where as most other cinema cameras take 4 days to boot up.
Dude, first off thanks for watching! I've seen a bunch of your videos and it's cool to see you here. But yeah it's nice to have that quick boot up time. My buddy's Red Dragon takes so freaking long to turn on
mumbo for mayor!
Mumbo! 🙏
JUST LEAVE PREMIERE AND CUT IN DAVINCI
Fr
He does now
looks like a good dream
Fun to watch, well-edited review. Thanks mate
G1 owner here: thanks for the overdue reminder that despite all the hype around the BMPCC cams, that the UMP is on another level. Seriously recommend you get into Resolve and unlock so much potential from BRAW (and ProRes, if you wish). Just having the in-built NR alone makes me incorporate that into how I shoot darker scenes with the UMP. I just feel that if BM were to come up with a proper autofocus that it would eat the FX9 and Canon C500 for breakfast in the corporate, TV and doc-making sector. By the way, I completely agree that 4.6K is a really nice sweet spot in terms of resolution. No need for 6k, imo.
Really appreciate your insight homie! I've been so on the fence about switching the Davinci. The main thing holding me back is the 2 other guys I work with are also all in with premiere so I would also have to convince them to switch haha
Loved your video. Your personality, sense of humor make this such an interesting watch....also the frame of you talking looks gorgeous, doesn't get old. Great stuff overall - looking forward to more. Subscribed!
This is seriously the most entertaining review I've seen. Thank you for your efforts brother. I'm now a fan.
Hands down... One of the best reviews, presentation and personalities I've seen in the Tech space in the RUclipsVerse, lol.. I'm really considering the URSA mini Pro 4.6K G2... Thanks for sharing Zach. SUBBED.
Brooo such kind words, really appreciate it man. If you can work around the premiere issues and the size it's a DREAM dude
okay man I officially love your channel and this helped me learn more about the ursa mini g2 thanks man !!
I’ll definitely suggest learning to edit & grade in Resolve. I left Premiere a couple years back to edit in Resolve and haven’t looked back. I was grading in Resolve long before and it’s far superior to Premiere when it comes to grading. Trust me when I say that once you learn to grade in Resolve you’ll never want to use Premiere for grading. Also when it comes to Blackmagic RAW I would definitely say Resolve works with it better. Not only for editing but also grading. But when it comes to editing it definitely does because it is GPU as opposed to CPU related. Also REDRAW also plays better in Resolve.
You mentioned how much better it probably is to use CFast 2.0 cards, and I can attest to that. I have 4 256GB cards and 2 128 GB cards that all work wonderfully with the camera. It definitely keeps the weight lighter and length smaller using those over the SSD Recorder.
Oh, and matching cameras will be easier when color grading in Resolve. Plain and simple. Don’t bother with Premiere because the color tools are no where near as good.
Really appreciate this mate. I've been so close to switching to resolve and I have no doubt that it's superior. My issue is that I'm always editing, whether it's client stuff or youtube, so down time isn't a thing for me right now, but I'll get into it soon I'm sure!
@@ZachMayfield I have been a Premiere editor for about 7 years. I switched over to Davinci Resolve for editing about two months ago and man, I wish I had made the jump a long time ago. I changed all of the keyboard settings to match Premiere's and it helped a lot. Didn't take long until I felt at home. If you make the switch you won't want to go back. Peace brotha.
Adam Szarmack im just starting out with resolve, i currently use the free version but i can feel that i made a good decision learning davinci instead of any other software. It has basically all the stuff you might need, everything is so simple, organized, and works very well
Premiere is such a dog, so SLOWWWW, I've wasted so much $$$ on hardware in the last decade trying to speed up Premiere - I'm totally ready to try going full Resolve, thanks for the story!
@@ZachMayfield im telling you switch to resolve. I switched a while ago and editing in there is far superior. When i go back to premiere it doesn't feel the same
One of the most entertaining reviews I've seen. Nice work.
Hey, I have a pocket, and had the same problem with BRAW in Premiere, and Premiere to DaVinci timeline. For me, I went with the BRAW Studio plugin form Autokroma, and so far, I've had zero issue, these 30usd that they ask for the plugin, when you need to get a project done and original BRAW plugin in Premiere is freezing is a true lifesaver.
Interesting! Somebody else said they switched over to pro res and have had no issues so that's another option as well
So would you suggest skipping the original BRAW plugin and go with the Autokroma?
@@bnnett They can release a new version where it would be fixed, but for now, I think Its the only way to work in Premiere with Braw. And after effects also.
So much love for this camera and BM. Also big up this video! New subscriber over here! 🤙🏻 Way to make a camera review funny, engaging, super informative and not at all boring!
Dude, thank you for this review. Been eyeing the Ursa G2 and Canon C200 and trying to decide between the two for run n' gun. This was helpful
Luke Strege dang, it’s cool to see someone deciding between cinema cameras, while I’m deciding between a 720p GoPro from wish, or to go big and get a 1440p GoPro XD
@@jackkeller2118 hah, it takes time for sure. I started with a GoPro, went to the cheapest 4k camera on the market at the time Panasonic G7, to a better mirrorless camera, and now upgrading to a cinema camera. Just continue pushing and you'll get there before you know it!
dude that's great to hear! What are you thinking between the 2?
@@ZachMayfield The main difference I need to decide between is the size. The c200 is about 2lbs lighter than the ursa. The other difference is the autofocus capability of the c200 and the ease of use for doc like work. The big downside of the c200 is the lack of internal recording codecs unlike the robust codec of the ursa.
Omg I was totally joking 😂😂 Though, I am deciding weather I should get the canon eos r5 when it comes out, or that Panasonic lumix gh5s
I've been using the G2 with Premiere for about a month now. No issues whatsoever. I did make sure I downloaded the latest firmware and I'm on a beast machine using windows so maybe there's a difference there. Great review. I really enjoyed watching it!
Dang dude maybe it's a Black Magic / Apple communication thing. So goofy. But thanks for watching man!
Your personality is amazing in front of the camera, that's what actually makes a RUclips channel successful, now youbneed to work on your colorgrading. You really do, I'm subscribed nevertheless
well I appreciate the feedback man, I'm working on it haha!
God damn! My dude! So happy to see that you got this camera. This will be my next purchase, for sure. Friggin' great stuff, as usual. Let's chat soon! I wanna try my LUTs on that beast!
Let me know when you get it man, I wanna see the footage you get!
I’ve used the original ursa mini and mini pro they are fantastic. Only gripe is the size give me that sensor with all the video options in a smaller camera and perfect camera and no the pocket 6/4K does not give you the same image quality. Blackmajic does what Sony and canon at half the price very affordable cameras there amazing. Great video my good sir keep them coming.
your reviews are great Zack, keep the work going baby :3 !!!
Really appreciate it homie!
I got the pocket 6K and the raw footage on Premiere is a nightmare. Super slow and struggling with speed. So that doesn’t happen on DaVinci Resolve. It’s about codecs and software
Love this. Liked and subscribed!
did a few shoots with the URSA mini G-1 and THAT camera was amazing... and they are charging the same price for the G-2... INSANE for the price. hope when this stuff is all over I get to rent this puppy.
Yeah man it's nuts, get your hands on one when Covid ends!
Excellent blacks (and color in general) in your RUclips clips !
Thank you :)
You're so unique in the way you talk. Topic that matters to me, told in a humorous way that makes me want to be your friend. That sounds wild, I know. But you're kind of just personable. Thanks for the honesty and the format, very original content.
Awh well that's what I'm going for! I just really like cameras and I think videos about cameras shouldn't be boring. Thanks for the support friend!
Broo I was debating lastnight about switching from gh5 to this.Crazy you dropped this video
woahhhhh destiny bruh!
Think il stay with my baby.the gh5!
Excellent tutorial and explains in simple language. Thanks(we are going to use for documentary on Natural history in India...)Yash.
I absolutely love my bmpcc4k so ik the mini is amazing
You just need to use Davinci from start to finish with BM cameras, to run their footage flawlessly
Great video, btw! Really looking forward on your channel! Keep it up!
You're totally right, Davinci seems awesome
Thanks for making this video, after a long time out the game, (dv tape era 👴) I’ve been looking to get back in, funny and informative.
Thanks for review. Clips look great!
Yo thank ya man!
thank you thank you for your style and review man. made me laugh a few times which I really appreciate. Love the lingo!
I had that issue with Premiere, then I switched over to Resolve for both my coloring and editing.
You made a great choice, I'm considering switching to resolve just to grade for now
Dude, you're super videogenic. I subscribed. Keep up the good work. You have the charisma. You have the X factor. Please make a comparison video between G2 and Sony FX9 if you can.
Dude thank you much!
Great video well made.
I had the original Ursa V1 but the upgraded one which can shoot 120FPS RAW,nice camera.I loved it, especially the screens all around (except the left side one,was too big) and the sound bars was a dream but...Too large, very large and heavy in fact. After I took the Ursa Mini G2 (same as this one). I really wanted to like it,I swear but I didn't. I found too many problems (not real problems but preferences). Shooting Sony now I'm looking over the full frame FS9. Although there is one small problem... Yes,the price. Is kinda expensive. Well expensive is subjective if you can make the money back. If .
Thanks for sharing that dude. If you don't mind, what are the preference issues you have with the G2? Just curious, thanks for watching!
It took me only 8 months to reply here 🤣. Talking about responsiveness.
Basically my main complain was the EF mount as an eco system, very limited for things I wanted then (adapters, many amazing Sony lenses, mirrorless lenses in general). If you want to go super wide you couldn't, somewhere around 15mm equivalent in 35mm (except if you try the Sigma 8-16 but it's very dark aperture) which brings me in my second issue. The sensor. Tired of calculating equivalent focals and losing the depth of field.
Now. The bomb is coming. Get ready. My FX9 is gone and being replaced with 3 Pocket 6K's which I bought brand new less than £5K.
Why? Because I want to use my Ronin S gimbal,I'm shooting using my monopod attached to my gimbal typically for very long shoots that I need to move alot. That's why I got the 6K's.
So happy. I forgot all my previous preferences.
Can't wait for the next 6K. I hope they will make it a box with no screen like the New Panasonic or similar to the ZCam
So good! I always thought it’s a badass camera.
Yeah dude it's rad!
Great Review!!!
i have work a bit with it on project , is heavy if you rig it up with rails and stuff monitor sucks a bit , easy to use one you find the settings , footage look grate , yes i pain to work with premier and is nice they have a nikon mount option
I appreciate the review man. Looking at this guy for my next cam. Hopefully it’s not obsolete by the time I can afford it.
It's a great camera for sure. Have you looked into the pocket 6K pro? Also a baller cam
@@ZachMayfield I have the pocket 4K. I’m just not into playing this game of catch up. Especially with the “pocket” lines. Good cameras, just done dumping loads of money into rigging these awkward things when I can go with Ursa.
Great review! love it!!!!
Thank you very much!
You’re hilarious. I’ve never laughed so much watching a video before. Not even with Potato Jet. Great work!
Nice review! Do you ever have issues w IR pollution when using the built in ND’s?
IR filter built in, thus no IP pollution
Jim Shum I’ve heard mixed reviews about the internal IR cut. And that it is a very low quality IR filtration.
honestly I haven't noticed issues with that, but I also don't have the best eye for that kind of thing
3rd party OLPF exist for the ursas they fix color shift.
i think the ursa sensor is slightly smaller than s35 and the red sensors are slightly larger than s35
Amazing video!
THAT LAMP BLOOM THOOOOO *drool
YUMSSSS
Make proxies on DaVinci and edit on Adobe. It works for me.
best review i've seen by far. g2 is on the way and i thank you for breaking it daowwwn.
btw -- 100% can tell you're a fan of callen & d'elia based on your intonations & mannerisms. snice. much love, bruv
Holy crap dude I love those guys! You're a genius hahah, also thanks for watching!
Love the video man, I'm seriously tempted by this for freelance/wildlife docs but damn that boi thicc 😆😆. At the moment thinking get the C70 then at later date get BM as A cam.
Do RAW processing in premiere, export the final project as a master and import the whole project in davinci, rather than moving the timeline. Did that for a short time before making the switch.
deciding between the S1H , the EVA1 or the URSA!
Awesome video. I love this camera. I use it for all my “high budget” commercial work and I would, and probably will, use it to shoot my first feature film. Hot tip. I’ve used the G2 on a the Movi Pro. It is too long to put straight on the gimbal but you can buy counter weights that you attach to the back of the plate so you can shift the camera forward on the gimbal. You obviously have to power the camera from the Movi too. It won’t fit on the gimbal with battery on. Also, yes. C-fast all the way.
Dude great information. I would love to share your work with the people here, feel free to drop some links for us. Also yes to the feature idea, I think this camera can totally fit the "budget" indie space as well as full on feature production. Thanks for commenting man!
@@ZachMayfield ah, thanks for the reply, man! Sure, I'll drop some links. I actually shot a doc for Nat Geo produced by James Cameron on the Ursa (mostly, some of it was FS7). Here's the trailer ruclips.net/video/AgJjzNmcp_M/видео.html
Here's a video I worked on with my old company for Google. This was shot on the Ursa and the Movi pro. I was assistant camera on this. Even the hyper-lapses were Ursa and Movi. vimeo.com/299031431
And this is my own vimeo channel vimeo.com/cianhamilton
The equipment I used in each video is in the description.
I hope I'm not spamming here. Just want to show the Ursa's capabilities. Love your channel by the way, Zach. ✌ needless to say, I'm a new subscriber.
P.S. you'll see on my Vimeo that I shoot a lot of my work on the Sony A6500. Like you, I'm a big believer that you can do some amazing work with a "cheap" camera 😊
Never realized that the BLACKMAGIC URSA MINI PRO 4.6K G2 had both dual CFAST and SD Card slots. Know I actually want this camera.
Yeah man, they held no punches on this beast
Thank you so much for making this dude. It's really hard to find user opinions on the G2. I own a BMPCC 6K, but would love to have the G2 as my A Cam (currently using the EVA-1, but honestly, my BMPCC 6K has a better look to it.)...this has influenced my decision to trade out for a G2. Probably gonna rent one for a weekend. Thanks again!
Well thank you for watching man! Let me know how it goes for ya man
Hey Zach.
Do you prefer buy this camera with some accesory at 900 dollars or an A7s3/fx3 at 2k dollars ? At this time with honesty ^^
Would you recommend this camera for independent narrative feature films? Thanks!
Came for the camera, Stayed for Thomas
He's the kat we all need
This was good content!🤩 Zach is on 🔥
BRO UR THE BEST
Been watching you since the balancing the GH4 on the Zhiyun crane and the Sigma 18-35. Love yah bye xxx
Dude that's so insane!! Thank ya for hanging in there with me dude
Blackmagic vs Z-Cam would be interesting since its the same price point but with full-frame sensors.
the only thing i wish this camera had is great auto focus. then it would literally be the ultimate budget cine cam
Just finished my first project with the g2 and full post production on resolve. Took me a bit longer cause i'm so used to premiere. But it's so worth to switch! Resolve is a lot faster and i think it will even get a lot better in the future.
Great to hear my dude, I'm probably going to start by just grading in resolve and then MAYBE switch completely. I like the idea of not giving adobe a shit ton of money every year haha
Super informative vid! What would you think is a better purchase: getting the pocket 4k or the ursa mini pro 4.6k g1? I hear once you rig up the pocket it comes to around the same price as the ursa so i'm torn! Can't wait to see more content from you!
Honestly I would go with the pocket just because of the ability to fly it on gimbals and the low light performance is far superior if you're doing any sort of run n gun. Hope this helps bruh!
'YOU!"
Wicked review man! Same issue with my Pocket 6k in premiere by the way, plays smooth but so many crashes!
Sideways shoes 😂
Well dang dude, sorry to hear that. Keep wearing those shoes tho baby
The thumbnail shows a nikon lens, did you use this camera with F mount?
Good video..... Edit in Resolve.... there are a bunch of learning resources... film simplified, Black Magic source and many more.....
I love my URSA!
Heck yes duuuuuude
The BMPCCS Look like shoes, he he he, your humor is outstanding...
hahah they're actually rad little cams, just had to keep people on their toes ya know
What I do is I put all my ungraded proxy's un premier in a zzold folder I call the clips clip 1,2,3 etc... then I grade the clips and put them in a graded folder, I name the clips; clip 1, 2, 3 etc and I relink the clips.
Thank you. I also wish it was smaller, Like double and a half smaller. But now canon with their r6... 4k 60 and DPAF, half the price, i think it might be a win. But lets see real life reviews.
I love my nerdy, funny, cool ass youtuber
I will always do my best to keep my ass cool
I think the issue of the project was that you used 2 different codec cameras. BMD has its own software, DaVinci Resolve, which works pretty well with BM Raw, but idk if DaVinci works well with R3D
Yeah that definitely added stress to premiere, but I've had that same issue on a commercial project using only BM footage. I think it's an adobe issue. Davinci is solid with pretty much any codec from what I hear!
really like your footage from your shoots, but what is up the exposure and the color for your interview set up of you talking? The highlights are blown and the blacks are crushed. It's not like you don't know that.
Everything looked fined on the waveform when grading. It's got more of a dramatic highlight bloom look cause I have a 1/4 pro-most on. Or maybe I'm a dumb dumb haha
Sorry, can't 'zip it' - Premier sucks. I ditched it for Resolve and couldn't be happier. Thanks for the video..
hahah you know I'm playing man, I love hearing opinions. And premiere does suck in a lot of ways. I think at some point I'll be on the Davinci train
Long distance has been difficult but we’ll make it
I'm very thankful to have you as my boyfriend
You seem like you are having fun..... so I subscribed.
Well hey thanks! I am having fun haha!
@@ZachMayfield I have never been a Blackmagic "Fanboy" either but always kept any eye on their gear. When the G2 came around, it ticked a lot of boxes for me. Like you I think 4.6k is a good compromise when delivering 4K, it just gives you a bit of wiggle room in the edit for a slow digital zoom or a bit of stabilisation. The RAW codec is amazing and efficient on cards. You don't even have to think about changing frame rate, you just do it and you get the audio as well, which is unlike any other camera I have worked with. I read a lot about the camera being slow to work with for shooting docs but I have found it quicker and more responsive than others like C300, FS7 and EVA1. The camera might seem a little heavier at first sight but the fact I haven't had to rig it out with a load of stuff means it's actually lighter than others rigged for the shoulder. Thanks for your genuine muse over the URSA G2.
Been using it since day one. Only thing I find weird, is the lack of support for this camera. Like there has been ZERO firmware update since it came out A YEAR ago. They just released it and that's it. On the other hand, pockets received lots of upgrades via firmware updates. The G2 is great, but I think it hasn't yet reached its full potential.
Yeah man I agree, seems like it's just not as much of a priority to BM but it's such a beast of a cam.
@Al Well, you are not wrong about that! It's not about the things it doesn't have, but rather about the things it could get. The Pocket 4K and 6K received lots of great new features via firmware updates and I wish it would be the case for the G2. I'd love waking up one day and see they added a bunch of cool new features and improved the sensor performance, the framerates, the color science, etc. (I know it will get native Color Science 5 with a future update and I'm looking forward to it). I got the G2 on june 28th 2019, and so far, it's been a wonderful camera!
Pro Tipp. Use multiple small cfast cards. That way you don‘t loose much of your footage if one card fails.
That seems like the best way to go, thanks for your input!
3 things: do you think that Bc of the pocket 6k, the next Ursa will have 6k as well? Next, I loved the awkward intro! And lastly, subbed. ;)
Expect much awkwardness and cringe from this channel haha. I could possibly see 6K in the next Ursa since most companies are going for 6K and 8K now
@@ZachMayfield In that case I definitely want to hold off until another release is announced.
Hello it's a pocket boi here, I agree and have problems with Premiere and BRAW. Got very annoyed one time and just completely switched to Resolve (apart from editing 360 footage). Sick video though, this will most likely be the next camera I buy in many moons when money happens. Thanks xo
pocket boiiiii whattup! Man I've been close to that point of switching as well. So many people are telling me to switch, I think I might in the next couple years.
@@ZachMayfield What I did was edit personal projects or simple projects (ones that just requred cutting and no fx or anything) in Resolve to get the hang of it. Then slowly transition when I felt comfortable. Now its like 90% resolve and 10% premiere. Could just be a slow transition, hope it helps! :)
Hey Zach! I'm a G2 and P4K shooter. Really like this video. I've switched to an all pro res workflow because you can XML between Adobe and Davinchi. No idea why, just BM Raw cant go between.
Ohhhhh dude thanks for mentioning this! Are you still digging the image quality with pro res?
Zach Mayfield Ya dude! I sent you a DM on insta. I can give you some more info there. It’s under the same name as here
Ursa Mini or Sony PXW-FS5M2 4K XDCAM Super 35mm?
What are your thoughts?
Are you going to get the Ursa Mini Pro 12k? Cause I’m about to preorder it in a couple of weeks.
I had the same issue with DaVinci Resolve too!! I’m currently working with Final Cut Pro X until I can upgrade my computer.
Dang dude, you mean the time code being off?
I didn’t have a time code issue but I wasn’t getting the same image. Always a different color or look than the original footage when I put it in resolve. I tried fixing the setting, but I was told if that doesn’t work then it’s my computer.
Dude!
You're hilarious!!
: D
hi thank you bye
There’s an issue with the BRAW plugin for premiere. When you export an XML the timecode gets all messed up. After you import your XML into Resolve go to the clip attributes for each clip and manually input the the correct starting timecode for those clips. It’s a pain, but worth it to be able to edit in Premiere and grade in Resolve.
Gotchya, sounds like soooo much work just to edit haha
Not you, Alexa. The REAL Alexa.
Haha!
Great review! I had also had an SSD fail after a shoot day and had to use only B-Cam footage. Have no idea why. Other than that amazing experience!
Damn that's so crazy. Go with CFAST people!
Get a better ssd. Don't cheap out on ssd.
I heard some people saying they had some problems with their BM ursa cameras, like dying randomly while shooting or having problems with the built in monitor .....my question is, how long you've had it and have u had any problems with this camera? thank you.
I addressed my issues in the video. Absolutely no physical performance problems. I've had it for 6-8 months I believe.
nice review, love the look of the camera
Just careful with comparisons, you compared footage from a camera nearly 1/3rd the price shot outdoor in harsh broad daylight to this camera indoor with soft background window diffusion and a lantern softbox ... come on :D
PS: you're editing in Premiere on a Mac. You want to playback smoothly, build a PC or use Final Cut.
Please tells us about your glass.
DUDE! I had the same issue with the Ursa footage not lining up with a timecode error in resolve! I tried to transcode all the footage but then lost the raw codec ofc. The workaround was using the EDL function to go out of prem and then in to resolve. I think the EDL file doesn't use the timecode data but rather it uses clip names and the actual in and out points. So I was able to after weeks of trying to get it working Grade the music video.
a work around for you which I hear many people do is export a pro res of your project and grade in DaVinci. That way you know your edit will be correct with all your transitions etc, keep its quality and better still davinci has a auto cut option, so you wouldn't even have to chop up each of your clips to grade
doooooooooood I had no idea about the auto cut option, that's so rad
@@ZachMayfield haha yeah blew my mind. Game changer.
Okay, I was so set on the URSA Mini right up until you explained the Permiere Pro issues, can you elaborate on this? Is it absolutely essential to use Resolve?
Well it's strange because it's not easily predictable. Sometimes the BM raw settings will just freeze up or be completely grayed out in premiere. It's not totally unusable, but if you starting mixing codecs from other cameras and your edit gets complicated, it'll be pretty annoying. Davinci seems like the best way to go. Sorry this probably doesn't help much haha
You bring it on a wedding?.... Like how? That is amazing.
Yeah man, the wedding was a really cool handheld artistic vibe. I used peak design's removable strap and it was actually not bad to hold throughout the day
Actually this is a video camera, not cinema camera (the image processing is different in the cinema cameras systems, like RED, ARRI, Panavision or the SONY CINE ALTA)
k
upgrade to resolve, even better now with the proxy generator
I’ve had the issue with Braw before. it Preimier doesn’t read the time code of footage shot into 23.97 but does is 24fps. it’s only in braw not pro res. but if you switch your frame rate your time code should work for an XML.
interesting, thanks for sharing that dude!
