- Best version of the classic 'I am the Walrus' by far... What a performance!!
Little notice for all the Oasis fans:
Look at the little moment between Liam and Noel at 1:01... amazing!! Gems reaction to it is also very cool.. MADFEEERRRRRRIIITTTTT!!! - Видеоклипы
Liams voice is quite literally perfect for this song.
liam is john. he just picked coke instead of lsd
very similiar voices
@@nwparker94 lmao such a good explanation...omg im dead 💀
You've got that right.
Rod Stewart would suit this song
I beg to differ. His voice is but a fraction of it's talents of 96
Did I just see Liam smile at Noel? I'm honestly speechless!
I think he got the lyrics wrong, that's why he smiled haha
+Savannah Cleary jup...right lyrics go like
Corporation tee shirt stupid bloody Tuesday man
You've been a naughty boy you let your face grow long
He sang kicking Edgar Allan poe in first verse when it's last verse .
That smile is professionally well acting, during stage mistakes xD (PS: check out our pop punk band from Cordoba, ARG!! :)
Liam smiling at all is rare
This cover is incredible. Not many bands can take the genius of The Beatles and pay a decent homage to it while still molding it into their own.
Should hear the version they did in the early 90s. Even better than this imo
I Couldn't agree more. Watched this over and over. I know John would be proud.
Elvis did it so many times it’s not that hard this band is very untalented
And in supersonic they mentioned the yellow submarine and they had Zak Starr at one point
Alpha acegamer you sound like the kind of person who says bts is better at singing than the Beatles
I can only imagine how hard must be to cover a rock classic and still play with your own style. Oasis is one of the few bands who did it with the Beatles. They played the Beatles but they didn't imitate their style.
+Matt Moves They practiced this song a thousand times during their early days in Manchester. They worked really hard at this.
+Mark ONeill Well I have read they did at least an hour of Beatles songs on every rehearsal, GREAT way to sharpen the chops. I have heard them explicitly trying to sound like the Beatles and DAMN , the BEST Beatle cover band ever especially the vocals.
HE NAILS John's VERY difficult phrasing. "In the ro-ho-hoad" Even his standing a the mike was 100% Johns. Could the brothers be..... nah never mind.
+Mark ONeill not hard enough to know the lyrics obviously (0:55).
+Matt Moves That's rubbish. The song is played virtually note for note and though there's a slight difference in accents between Liverpudlians and Mancunians - we're both northerners with flat vowels. There are already huge similarities. Oasis didn't avail themselves of the strings as the Beatles did, because it's a 'live' performance. The guitars were upfront instead. Hardly an innovation. A pretty faithful cover and nothing to get excited about. It's only got a large number of views because the Beatles original has been blocked.
aerialkate
I am not talking about innovation, I am talking about playing something really famous and to keep your identity. They can play really simple stuff but you recognize them when they play because they have a strong personality, when they sing their own songs or covers.
This song is 50 years old but it sounds like it could be wrote today... The Beatles really were ahead of their time...
Its actually today music take so much inspiration from the beatles, that why
Lennon was a master of lyrics, way better than McCartney
Love this cover
This is pretty awful I think Oasis should have listened to the fantastic Spooky Tooth version of the song and then they might have not even bothered to do this song
this is far too rushed and frantic
I thought, that if there were any truth in advertising, then OASIS should have been called THE OBNOXIOUS YOBS!. But having seen this performance ( l am 76 and Beatles vintage), l realise that the Gallaghers did front a GREAT English rockband. Not saying I'm a fan, but it did make me take a second look at their other work. In their own words FUCKING FANBLOODYTASTIC!. Sincerely JA.
Best Beatles cover I ever heard with an unmistakable oasis sound
Nice cat
DrAgOnWTF did you ever hear the Kevin Dave white cover of come together
I can’t decide which one is better , this one or the other one
Totes
Just luv this
This is one of my favourite covers of all time. The Beatles never played this song live and Oasis not only showed us how it would have been, they even gave it their own and unique style. Simply BIBLICAL
"Biblical"---best response here
This song is like perfect for Oasis honestly, it's so damn good.
Liam's " ro-o-o-w" is celestial.
biblical
Oasis at their peak was a force to be reckoned with.
No one would fuck with Liam, or even Noel, to a certain extent, nevermind Oasis as a whole
Matthew Gillenberg so true
I love this era but their peak was 96-97
@@peedro1531 1994-2000, best music
Anyways here’s wonderwall
Liam smiled at Noel at 1:01 something because they both fucked up the lyrics! They said the line about Edgar Allan Poe when it doesn't come until the 3rd verse. kinda funny . Great cover tho.
Noel started saying the right line but then changed to be in sync with liam
Great cover, great song, great bands recognized by a real great Rock'n'Rolla 😉
Liam sang the wrong line. Noel changed to match him.
Them smiling at each other. Best part
Lmao and the guitarist just went with it lol. Wow that’s a cohesive unit right there. The little smile looked like a “Sorry, but thanks for going along with me.” 😂😂
at 1:01 when liam and noel look at eachother and gem laughs, it's because liam sings the wrong words... he is supposed to sing:
"Corporation tee shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday
Man you been a naughty boy. You let your face grow long"
I noticed that I was thinking that's not how the song goes. I like Oasis but don't try to sing a classic if your not sure of the words
KINGSTONSMUMMY10 oh calm yourself, this was their last song, and he was probably tired, everyone makes mistakes! Don't get your panties in a bunch
Am i the only one who thinks it looks like Liam does it on purpose to fuck with Noel? The smile gives it away for me.
Funny at 0:55 where Liam sings the wrong bit and then turns to Noel and laughs! And then Noel trying hard not to laugh too!
Funny part is one of them, not sure who, fucks it up, but they both end up singing the Poe part. Chemistry. Brilliant
Who else smiled when they both sang together and smiled at each other...
A few other bands, Stones for starters
@@pygmy358 I didn't understand that...
@@pygmy358 what are you on about you?
It's because they got the lyrics wrong and they both knew it...
Mind-blowing. The Beatles were probably really glad they did this such justice. I love this.
If it wasn’t for the Beatles we’d have no oasis 🙂🙂
LittleG1984 If it wasn’t for The Beatles we wouldn’t have a lot of bands
TheGameshark yes that is true 😊
But that was the end of that good wine!
TheGameshark but on the other hand now there’s trash like bts
@@filip76uk17 they aren't the worst right now but nowhere near the Beatles
Liam spent his entire career singing in a microphone too short for him!
When Liam sings , he always put his microphone of this way bc It's his style
Tryggvason Elise 😂
No. It's because he doesn't know anything else to do but squat.
You mean too "tall" for him?
@@elgatocapibara no it's low short duh Billie
i like the part when they smile at each other, you see two brothers in that moment
🎵 Sitting in the english garden waiting for the sun 🎵
capo habla español que no te entiendo porfa
That line could be a reference to Here comes the sun.
Trent Weston they wrote this song when they learned that kids were dissecting their songs in school. They decided to make a song about absolutely nothing at all. So it probably wasn’t
it could be " sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun " ??..not in the English garden boy !!, you are NOT a beatle fan !!
This is my favorite rendition this great Beatles classic. I have viewed this many times and love it each time.
Check this!

1:01 Liam smile to Noel?! Hahahahah nice! I like it
He messed up a lyric that's why lol
I was never an Oasis fan (much too old, I'm now 61!) but I really enjoyed this performance. It's like a head-on collision of Sonic Youth meets The Beatles as dictated by The Gallagher brothers. Cacophony Suite (Sweet)!
Well said sir
+Prasanna J Thank you. I hope that you have a safe and enjoyable holiday. Cheers!
Laurence Hawks Age has nothing to do with whether you're a fan or not. You either dig it or you don't. My mentor taught me to listen without prejudice and it opened a whole new world of music to me.
Amen......Amen...I am 69. Love Oasis, The Jam, Ocean Colour Scene...age has zip to do with enjoying great music...
dennis o'cain : Thank you Dennis! I just discovered a song that really moves me. It's called "A Touching Display" by the band "Wire." If you do happen to take a listen please let me know what you think. The artists you mentioned made me think you might enjoy it. Best Wishes.
That look Liam gives Noel you can just tell they truly loved what they were doing and loved singing that song
noel gllagher. if you see this, please get your bro back. you two guys are perfection. the voice and the talent. let the world see something that its been missing.
Noel is a musical genius and so is Liam.
I ain't really an Oasis fan and I never have been, but I had to click on this cover, when I saw it up, just out of sheer curiosity- (being the huge Beatles fan that I am), and I've gotta say that all-in-all, it ain't bad. o.o
+Cockney Rebel There's better versions of it than this by Oasis, try 95 Earls Court.
I'm a very good Beatles fan too
Behave with this "not bad" patter, it's fucking great and you know it.
right he captures the grittiness of The Walrus, John put in it.
Cockney Rebel it's one of the best cover versions ever. They literally got their record deal, because of this song. Labels weren't that interested, until they heard them play this
If your going to cover "I am the Walrus", this is how it should be done. Especially the climatic ending, it has to happen that way. Impressed by Oasis here. They got it right. Great live version.
You’re*
The guitars are fantastic in this rendition, I am now an Oasis fan!
I think the dynamic of how much they hate eachother makes their music that much better.
it's funny how people are complaining how they put their oasis twang on this song. If they did a cover when they sand it like the Beatles, they'd still be complaining because it's the same. Get a grip!
1:01 that smile warms my heart, and Gem smiling after.
I hope the brothers patch things up one day.
Cause they missed the lyrics ahahah, i love that part!!! :D
He smiled cos he fucked up the first verse 😂
Noel tuning his guitar down live on stage. Epic..
😮😮😮
Noel and Liam's voices just flowed together perfectly in this cover I don't like covers of songs but this is one of the best iv heard of this classic by the beatles
People shouldn't hate! not enough bands these days pay enough tributes to the giants who's shoulders they stand on, particularly the beatles!! I love Oasis, it's an oasis cover of a beatles song, they're honouring their idols whilst still retaining their own identity and rightly so, amen.

We were studying Shakespeare's 'King Lear' in high school about 1973 when all of a sudden I stood up in class and yelled: "I am the Walrus!" You see, the BBC's performance of Lear actually weaves its way through the Beatles' original and I recognised the sound mix. Everybody thought I was stark raving mad and I nearly got the Cane for disrupting the class!
Oasis NAILED IT
I like both versions of this song, The Beatle's one will always be the original and the best one, I know it, obviously.
But Oasis is just as fantastic as they were, they have nothing to envy. Any band has it's style, we all have different tastes. Noel and Liam are rock genius, as well as The Beatles were, you might like one or the other band but you can't just decide which one is the best.
Music doesn't work like that.
you can believe that but i cant. history will be the judge i guess.
Cheers
Beatles could write a pop song from their own farts, thats something oasis could never compare against
chronaisnormal if I could thumbs up this comment a hundred times I would
Liam Demp no. Oasis is a great band. Yes the Beatles are better. But still. People treat the Beatles like they're fucking genious and absolutely talented. Face the facts. Ringo was no special drummer. George was not a special guitarist. John was at times a great lyricist but at times cheesy. Paul was a decent pianist. It's a fact that the Beatles are the best band. Hands down. But they're not musically amazing before revolver. Just influential.
The Beatles is genius for their time. Don't compare Archimedes with Albert Einstein. Found mathematics or physics theory is great, but you can't compare it with someone who create "numbers". Making beautiful compositions and aransmen is great, but you can't compare it with someone who founded "music". There is no doubt that The Beatles is greatest, most influential, most revolutionary band of ALL TIME.
This is a great version, really suits Liams voice
Really great. I was obsessed with the Beatles for a long time, but now Oasis is my favorite band. I love this cover ✌🏼️
This song is the real origin of Oasis.
Jajajjajaj
No actually it's Rain by the Beatles
CheZstuff8024634 yes my friend
Total yes!!
@@Buccarado Why?
I always thought ShakerMaker reminds me of I am the Walrus. I could sit and watch Oasis covering the Beatles all day long, they just treasure it so much.
This is our last song, it’s by the Bee-illzz
noel's solo omg perfection
Watched this gig a millions times and never gets old.
Wrong lyrics leads to a smile to his brother that only them two understand. They’re a miracle. We’ll never see the like again. Icons of music, fashion and a generation.
I'm a massive Beatles fan and a massive Oasis fan... This version is superb! One of the best covers ever in my opinion...
Also, Liam's not a daft twat... He's a f***** legend
Awesome! I'm just so glad that others besides me love this song. I always did but it seemed like I was alone in my extreme fondness for this Beatles song, my favorite :)
So many great things about this performance... But Noel's powerful harmony and fucking nails solo to finish the song are beyond...my god.
I almost think that i like this version better than the Beatles.. and I absolutely love the Beatles .. good job
This is most likely the way The Beatles would had sounded doing this song live . AMAZING that a band of Oasis stature would close a show with a Beatles song. THAT IS "LOVE" and they NAIL it!
LIam REALLY nails John and John, Jesus what a god damn poet !
Oasis in our mind!!!!!!!we are waiting for you!!!!!!!!!come on!!
Brilliant rendition of this extraordinary classic! Well done!
Strawberry Fields Forever, A Day in the Life, I am the Walrus, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Tomorrow Never Knows , Across the Universe - quite a run our boy John Lennon was on.... and so much more....
Remember when band's sent you home inspired? I appreciate this band more and more as time goes by.
Amazing performance!!! Wonderful song!
Simply awesome!! Great vocals, brilliant guitar work by Noel.
God how I love when Liam and Noel smile at each other, singing what undoubtedly got them into music... Great video.
They are smiling because he messed up the words!!!!!
1:01 Liam is amazed at how good the harmony is
No, hes laughing cos he fucked the the lyrics to the first verse and noel didnt.
Lennon would be proud.. Great cover 😍😍🤘🤘
Oasis... Married the divine music of The Beatles with the wild spirit of the Rolling Stones. 💖
Brilliant observation!
And The Sex Pistols attitude.
One of my fave bands covering the greatest band ever. Heaven
Admittedly I’m not a huge fan of oasis, but this is one of my favorite live performances of all time
A perfect song for Liam's vocal range!
Good Lord! Damn boys you smashed that song! Half way thru it I had tears in my eyes.
Wow, John Lennon as father of independent guitar rock. And shows his unreachable quality as intelligent songwriter. John would be proud of you! Master cover!
To be truthful, unless you have an orchestra and the cast of King Lear with you, this is pretty much the best way you can cover I Am The Walrus live. And, while Oasis are no Beatles, their take on this song is completely awesome.
When's the fucking reunion, hurry up and get it on, you know it's happening.
oli19 they fucking hate each over. It's not gonna happen
That was well done! Love it!
Love Liams smile
1:00 :'-(
I know. We'll never get that back unfortunately...
i like watching them argue
First time i've seen one of them two giving such a look at each other, of all the footage i've seen. How about you?
NNNNNNNNNNNNICE came here to type this
I'm crying.
Liam- The best rock frontman alive. - IN MY OPINION
Mercury, Plant>>>>>>>>Liam
Tom Faron yes.
+genial sam mercury?? the drag queen?? what joke
Adam Lebransky He embodies Rock and Roll. In your face, don't care what the crowd thinks, deliberate, and great stance, and killer vocals. IMO.
Adam Lebransky I'll update the post with "to me" or IMO.
Perfect sound. Oasis must return
absolutely outstanding
a great band perform a great song from a great band. SUPER GREAT!
Happy 80th birthday John Lennon. Great tribute song to end the gig on!
Super Great♥
So nice to see Liam in a good place and the brothers smiling. Any time they cover this song I'm amazed.
Is noel trying to make his guitar sound like R2-D2 in the solo.
1:01 the brothers smiling at one another 👍🏻
I feel like weeping when I hear this
and I dont know why
The solo was epic omg
I like it!!
The bass he is using is Ovation Magnum, a pretty rare bass to find in a good condition, superjealous
Yeeeaah! What a great cover! The brothers are inspired here you can tell! Coo coo Keechoo!
Wow... wasn't expecting this. Great band!
I think that's the best COVER version of this song, and it's so nice!
All fucking smiling, miss this
A couple decades after The Beatles break up, the universe blesses us with some fresh new ones.
Fucking love it. The energy and stage presence Liam is incredible considering he just stands there with his hands behind his back
exactly
In my opinion Liam is an amazing frontman for this reason and a lot of things but that is the principal reason Liam's presence is amazing !
great cover
i gotta say, that was pretty fkn awesome
1:00 A Smile !
Woaahh! Did Liam and Noel smile at each other?
I love how much Liam genuinely sounds like John Lennon performing this. He does so more and more singing this as he ages. For that reason in my eyes this is almost as good as Earls Court 95.
John Lennon is the second most number one song writer in history falling only behind Paul. He is, if not the, one of the greatest minds in music history who could produce breath taking songs each day. Look at his journals, each day he wrote songs of incredible caliber
I think it's great and I'm a huge Beatles fan. I think Liam sang great. He sounds a lot like John at points if you ask me. And it is completely plausible that a cover of a Beatles song isn't awful
IF THE SUN DONT COME YOU GET A TAN FROM STANDING IN THE ENGLISH RRRRRAINNNN
2021 and my god I miss these days of Oasis.
Great cover
