@@PhillyBeatzU Philly, I’ve noticed something, and I want people to spread the tip all over the internet for people who hate gloom hands… if you encounter gloom hands, all you need to do it pull out the master sword, and they vanish. Fun story:
I once beat a Stone Talus for a shrine quest, but right when I defeated it, a Blood Moon triggered. I was then running away frantically from a stone talus with the Shrine Gem-thing.
What a timing 😶
Ohhhhh nooooooo, that would suck so SO BAD!

You should mention in a future video that the cheapest arrows are in the Yiga Clan Hideout. Just found that out, which contradicts Austin John Plays video that says that the cheapest arrows are in towns like Kakariko which are at 4 rupees per arrow instead of Yiga at 3.5 for an arrow. Yiga also has twice the stock.
Wait how can something be 3.5 rupees lol?? Unless that’s just an average you figured out or something

Good advice!
Nah. I thought the same thing ESPECIALLY with OLED, but it’s been tested and it takes an insane amount to actually damage the screen. Wulff Den has been doing a series on it. ruclips.net/video/PaC5RbGAeVo/видео.html
A quick tip for gloom hands: they cannot climb or swim, so if you're not very strong and/or you don't want to fight them, you can simply stay in high place, like a tree, or in a pond/lake/river (it's not necessary for you to swim, you can just stay in a point without moving, so you don't run out of stamina), just make sure they can't catch you, and after a while they will be bored of trying catching you so they will just despawn. It's like if they die because they drop a dark clump but you haven't defeated phantom ganon so they won't drop his weapons. In the video you can see an example of this at min. 7:01. Like it happened next in the video, if you get enough close to them again, they will try again to cacth you and won't despawn immediately
You can also drop a steering stick and hop on it and the hands with stop attacking. Then launch of slow motion arrownthem.
This works everywhere except caves. I reliably always did this but in a cave I waited forever and they just did not despawn and I felt trapped lol 😂
@@Gikarin.Gamemaster it doesn't work also with the gloom hands down in the chasm inside the great deku tree. I suppose it's because the game wants you to fight them

6:52 - To be more precise, the fake blood moon happens when the Gloom Hands notice you, and it corresponds with their music starting up.
True
The blood moon definetly respawns ore deposits, there’s a spot with 2 rare ore that I like to go to on death mountain and it respawns every blood moon.
they respawn individually from blood moons, just like other materials such as plants, I think it's somewhat the same mechanic as in BOTW, where they will respawn if you're far enough away and either sleep trough the night or just spend enough time away from them. granted I didn't specifically test this, but it's how they worked in botw, even shops like beedle used to work like this in botw (now beedle restocks just after resting/sleeping)
I think resources spawn in Blood moon ONLY if you are gone from the area and that Philly's tests are not going to show that properly. Different from monsters/weapons but still tied to the system.
Ah, that makes sense, good for me tho means i can farm them faster lol.
This is one of the Best Blood Moon testing videos. And how to trigger the blood moon with overloading, which is much easier than BOTW

I delayed a blood moon once by just talking to Grandeson and going into build mode. The time still goes on to after 12 am, and yet the moon is never red! On top of that, the blood moon came the night right after that
I don't know about the really deep caves, but smaller caves don't cancel the blood moon. I was in a cave earlier today trying to find a shrine and still got a blood moon inside there nevertheless. I was close to the back end, but it wasn't a particularly big cave, not sure if that factors in.
Im pretty sure cave size doesn't matter, got multiple blood moon during cave dwelling, always happen halfway in a big cave when you wish to cook a big batches of elixirs
from what he was showing it seems more about whether you enter the cave at the right time. Can’t be too close to the BM but not too far away either I’m guessing
I was fighting in a Horrorblin base and they respawned in front of me.
I love your videos they are so useful. you should make a video on what weapons to keep and what enemies to fight and which not to bother with as well as which armors are the best and then at the end of the video rank everything (enemies weapons and armor)
I’ll keep this in mind! Thanks
I didn't realize the game was using the blood moon as a sort memory cache clear, it makes sense though. Glad to find out you can exploit that fact, but they really should have given the player a normal way of triggering it. Waiting around for world bosses to respawn is kinda annoying. Gleoks guts are needed in a fairly high number to max out at least one fashion set, and don't drop most of the time. or for various other farming reasons it would have been nice for the player to have that option to reset without waiting in real time.
When the BotW DLC was announced but before it was released, I speculated that wearing Majora's Mask would trigger a blood moon. Wouldn't that have been cool?
@@MLennholm Ya that could have been cool, but oh well.

6:21 I think it would have been funny if they replaced the dialogue with dragon noises. xD
Tip: If you want an infinite supply of fire fruit, just revisit In-Isa Shrine (Fuse ability shrine) every blood moon. If you also don't want to waste weapon durability/a weap slot, you can get over the rock wall at the start by stacking all three rocks on top of each other and glueing them together with Ultrahand
I completely forgot about this! There's a couple places I go to on the road to Kariko Village where I can snipe the Aerocuda's carrying Bokoblins that are armed with backpacks of fire fruits. The fall kills the Bokoblins and then I can pick up all the fire fruits along with the monster parts. Well worth the arrows and Keese eyeballs.
Since Ganondorf take Sonia's Secret Stone and the Stone had some of Sonia power within it, maybe that's why he can summon the blood moon over and over again
OH
Nah, in story, it was said that the secret stones do not have any power of their own, but instead buff an aspect of their wielder's power. Like with Zelda, who had light and time powers, it chose to buff her time powers. What they buffed for ganondorf however, we don't really know. but gawd damn did it do it's job.
@@assassinlink0 It's revealed that the kanji that appeared for Ganon was darkness. So it's like he became a darkness sage
@@assassinlink0 probably darkness for Ganon (because Rauru is light), it just a thought since the Stone can only buff one power but Blood Moon recurrence may have something to do with rewind time, that is why my theory is that the Stone itself (not Ganon) still had some of its OG power which is Sonia's time power but Ganon can use it anyway since its in his possseion

The way I learned how the Blood Moon resets all bosses is when I killed my first King Gleeok and before I could loot the drops, it occurred

Thanks ZEVIL
For cooking, note that blood moons don''t increase the value of the meals you cook. If you cook 5 raw meat before and during a blood moon and each end up healing a different amount, they will still sell for the same amount. This is because the game looks only at the value of the parts x how many parts were in the meal. And I've said this elsewhere before, but I will say it here again, that if you need to heal a lot of hearts, you'll be way better off just cooking 1 hearty item at a time for a full heal plus extra hearts. Save meat for cooking then selling.
Blood moons also aren't the only way to guarantee a cooking critical. You can also guarantee it by adding a golden apple to the dish. This is useful if the dish you are cooking doesn't need all 5 ingredient slots, or if you just don't want to wait. However, for certain meals such as sunny meals I pretty much always use blood moons to keep the gloom healing at it's highest.
You don't have to defeat Gloom hands in most situations in order to end the "fake blood moon" If you are somewhere they can't reach, then after a short while they will give up and disappear, usually leaving dark clumps behind. There are some places where this isn't applicable however, such as the labyrinths. If they don't disappear, then you'll either need to fight them (and Phantom Ganon), find a way to elude them, or just teleport away.
Ore work like other resources, they respawn based on RNG while you are somewhere else and you can get them to respawn multiple times per blood moon.
While you can delay a blood moon, you can't do so indefinitely. Eventually the game will force one to prevent a crash. These panic blood moons can occur during normal gameplay but don't seem to be as common as in BOTW from what I have seen. But continuously delaying the normal blood moon will eventually guarantee it.
The blood moon delay was something I accidentally discovered in BOTW and want to try on TOTK and it worked as intended.
Your blood moon deep dive is proper. You earned a new subscriber. …Tom
There is one more mechanic I discovered which is that blood moons can be delayed or increased based on the number of monsters you killed, materials gathered, or number of open chests. When so many monsters are killed, chests opened or materials gathered the blood moon will trigger to respawn fresh enemies, new chests, and fresh materials. Covertly if you avoid enemies keep chest opening and gathering to a minimum the blood will be delayed since you haven't crossed the line for it to spawn.
In my early game I was able to delay my second blood moon until the third dungeon. After that because I wanted better weapons and armor I got the game to trigger a blood moon every 15 to 30 minutes because I went on a monster genocide run. Abusing travel medallions and the sky islands.
Great video
Even tho I know all this stuff I still love to watch these videos for some reason
MANY TIMES, I've had the bloodmoon cutscene play during the day time
Using a golden apple in a FOOD recipe guarantees a critical success. And using gibdo guts in an elixir guarantees a critical success.
Yeah, I've used the blood moon shrine cheese trick since I figured it out in BotW. Helpful if you just want to walk around hyrule in peace or if you need to track which lynels you've killed.
I always go to my favourite ore spots after a blood moon and sure enough they're there....now I do know that some stuff needs a little time...like don't go rushing in at 12 05 pm. I usually go the next in game day and that includes Hyrule Castle. Some things might be set on a different timer as you were saying. BTW I did get to kill and loot the Pirates in that fishing village twice because I went out of range lol...one guy was hiding in a well and I couldn't find him...thought he was on the beach and I went out of range so i had to beat them up again.
8:30 Same applies to shooting thunder-element objects at those water spheres you find around the water temple.
i just need to say that the moon in the thumbnail is so red it's making an optical illusion that looks like fire
As far as I can tell, from having unintentionally stopped Blood Moons multiple times, the cave's ability to stop the blood moon also depends on how deep below sea level it goes.
"You cant progress the blood moon by sleeping"... yes you most certainly can. When you keep spamming rest until morning at 5 am youre not progressing through the day. Its just restarting 5 am at the same day. If you rest until night, and then rest until morning you will progress through that day.
Blood moons are great for getting zonai charges and crystallized charges from the mines! Upgrade that battery!
Damn, ur dyed mystic set is looking nice. I'm privy to the depths set myself
RE whether they happen in caves: bloodmoon happened inside the horriblin alcove in Royal secret passage. I had just wiped them out, blood moon, they all respawned. So did the Stalnox in the earlier section.
Zelda talking during the blood moon is the best part of it
Thank you you sharing how to get the blood moon
Zelda also disappeared for me from the blood moon cutscenes after I did all the glyphs
crit cook time last from 11:30 to 12:10 or 12:15 so you get a bit of extra time post blood moon cutscene

About the cave section
I was once exploring a cave for something like 15+ minutes didnt notice that a blood moon was even suppose to happen and when i was in the cave a blood moon occurred when i was still in it
I liked Zelda narrating the blood moon I want her back
real talk its so scary when nobody talks in the bloodmoon cutscene
Caves do not stop the blood moon. They always seem to happen right as I've cleared out a bunch of enemies. Then they all respawn while I'm low on heath and wepons
I’m surprised we can’t get the ox horns as a animal part in-game. 😑
can we see a video showcasing your house? im interested in that design with the kitchen next to the foyer.
I'm sure someone has mentioned this but there's actually 3 blood moon cutscenes. Counting a special one the first time it plays.
As far as enemies, it respawns static spawns. The real mystery is are random spawns infinite? Great footage, I really liked the 2 evil trees 😂😂😂
I think tree respawning has to do with distance, I remember for one of the quests I had to cut a bunch of trees and I went to various spots and I noticed that trees in previous spots I already cut had respawned.
Same
This would be better then the BOTW system. I remember it taking far too long
0:50 so a second IRL is a minute in game. Cool
How to force blood moon ? i didn't know you can do hit with saving/loading with lots of effect. BUT : i've found something : still in a cave with rocks, try to détonate 20 time bombs in same time (or nearly) and you'll get a blood moon. I tried to dig in a gerudo desert cave like this, I had 4 blood moon in 6 minutes.
I'm sure you can do it with other effect, but time bomb do a nice job :D
When the blood moon gets forced because the game gets laggy, its called a Panic Moon. The system panics and tryies to reset everything in the game.
Go to that shrine on satori mountain with all those trees, pull out a 5x shot bow, shoot a bunch of opal arrows in bullet time. Instant blood moon.
2:46 Also saving at the very last second before 12AM prevents the blood moon.
The bloodmoon force also workes just by fireing one 5shot opal and then wait till tve lag passes by, it also triggers a blood moon
I love the blood moon because it’s the perfect opportunity to get gear and recourses to make myself stronger. I think of it as a time to do my chores murdering monsters
I think grass might respawns during blood moons? I was farming wheat by Rito village and a blood moon happened. When the cut scene ended all the grass I just cut was back. Not the must useful, but if you’re farming cooking ingredients it could come in handy.
0:49 There’s a weird glitch in my botw where blood moon spawns quite often. I have the Wii U version, is there any glitches for that game?
Awesome channel!
✊🏻🇸🇪
One time I had a blood moon at 11 am in totk, I was so confused cause it was the middle of the day lol
There is one more blood moon cutscene you missed. The very first one has a different speech.
I managed to accidentally delay a blood moon in a cave in Eldin because I fell into lava right as the cutscene was about to happen
What's going on with the terrain at 11:52 lol
Rendering?
Also, quick question, how does the Mystical Armor work when deducting rupees? Damage value? Strength of Enemy? Flat amount?
I’m trying to do the Moonlit Princess quest. It’s hard to know when they spring up, so I can be over there.
7:05 Really it just prevents recovering from gloom, normally, anywhere outside the depths you recover from gloom at a rate of 1 heart per second without being at specific points (lightroots). But if the sky is red, this "blots" out the light world's recovery.
in BOTW I can skip the blood moon by cooking on the same frame as the cutscene triggers. this will not delay the blood moon the next day as the shrines do. this is much worse and does a partial reset. all enemies, bosses, and weapons don't respawn but some stuff does respawn mostly food items. find out it also takes longer for the blood to trigger because the timer goes to the negatives and takes about 7-8 IRL hours to trigger the next. doing the cooking glitch 2 times in a row takes 2-3 IRL days because of the lack of enemies and bosses to decrease/increase the timer faster. I never tried 3 times of fear of temporarily soft-locking my game for a week because there would be no bosses to kill.
I don't know if the cooking glitch still works in TOTK because I haven't been able to do the glitch yet and see if it has the same effects as BOTW
but seeing that the blood moon is tied to memory management where in BOTW it was not. doing this may force a blood moon I just don't know it will depend on what gets reset doing this glitch
For forcing a blood moon, you dont need to load the save. It just lags out and starts a blood moon automatically.
15:50
How kind of Gannon to resurrect the local fauna.
I think the opal lag thing tricks the game into thinking lots of time passes using lag or something
The game is clearing up memory by doing this
The opal lag trick overloads the game’s memory forcing a panic blood moon which basically acts as a reset
@@PhillyBeatzU Oh thanks for the explanation...
@@bob_3472 it worked exactly the same way in BOTW
Another mistake, constructs don't respawn with the blood moon. They're on their own and respawn by a different mechanism. Makes sense since they don't work for Ganondorf.
if you want to kill gloom hands without fighting gloom ganon, get into a small space

Facts
Lynels and Gleeoks have the best materials for weapon fusions in the game
For ne of u progressed enuf to battle them
Definitely plant ur travel medallion where at least one of them are and always go back there after a blood moon for the best weapons u can make💯
Caves dont delay Blood Moons, I got blood mooned in a cave multiple times. But a blood moon can fail to trigger if you save n load
Ore deposits do respawn though because in my game there is this cave I always go to for rare ore deposits and when I mine them they do respawn, so I’m guessing the ore deposits respawning depends on how long you’ve played the game as long as you’re not still in the cave
Something funny that happened to me once is that either it botw or totk I beat a silver and black or red boko and then I skip the time and then a blood moon happens
Man screw the blood moon, as soon as it hits 11:30 pm I head into a shrine or into the deep
I was once chilling on the Light dragon going over Zora's domain (around 10am) and suddenly bloodmoon appearing 😂
That area seems to be in general very prone to activating blood moons - I had one happen in the middle of the day near Mt. Lanayru in BotW.
In BotW, you can cut the trees and collect all the wood and fruits, then save and reload. The trees will be back, but not the fruit. The fruit still needs to refresh by whatever method of going away works in BotW to refresh resources, but hey, infinite wood!
I once shot an arrow super high with the Dusk bow by the lookout in Hyrule Castle and a blood moon came out
Very important note: if you save at 11 : 55 and reload right before the blood moon happens it skips it and the 3 hour timer restarts. if it doesn’t work keep saving and reloading after each reload.
Probably needs to happen like right before 12 I’d guess. Each minute is 1 second IRL so each group of 5 mins in game passes by in 5 secs. So maybe get 11:55 wait 3 secs then do it?
@@wolfiemuse save and reload and keep doing it so you don’t accidentally trigger the blood moon
I did the blood moon glitch and now whenever I teleport to certain areas I get a blood moon constantly back to back like literally 2 seconds after back to back and always have to teleport out to a different location to be able to play normally other then that I can farm anything and everything
I don't know of blood moons respawn Flux constructs. I was fighting one in the skies and a blood moon started creeping around in the sky, so I decided to wait for it to respawn for another round, to my dismay it did not respawn, idk if it glitched or what but I reloaded before the fight, did everything over again and the blood moon still did not respawn the Flux construct
woah thank you for showing me how to force a blood moon! I saw your shorts but I didn’t know where to go.
My bad! Hope this helps
@@PhillyBeatzU it helped a lot thanks
Two questions:
1. Why do you have to AFK in a shrine and not just anywhere in the world?
2. Why is it that I can leave my game on for 6 hours idling without a blood moon, but the moment I rest at a bonfire a blood moon spawns?
I encountered what seems to be a very weird blood moon bug.
For some reason the enemies inside of shrines (the proving ground ones) and the ones near the chest directly east of the of Gutanbac Shrine on the starting sky islands didn't respawn. :(
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Zonai droid guys respawn on their own schedule, not on the blood moon.
How do you keep track of when a blood moon is about to come? Surely you don't stand around a cooking pot just waiting, and as far as I know there's no counter or calendar that tells you how many days have passed since the last one. Are you just remembering?
My game let's me "critical cook" from 11:30 - 12:30 during the blood moon. I get all my cooking done in one session.
I just hate when a blood moon happens after I just killed a camp of monsters... then I either have to kill them all over again, reload and wait, or run.
Honestly I didn’t even notice Zelda was gone from the blood moon cutscene i skip it so fast
So in conclusion:
1) Blood moons occur roughly every 3 irl hours of unpaused gameplay.
2) Critical cooking between 11:30 and midnight.
3) Blood moons respawn weapons (including spike balls), enemies, and animals. All other resources use tick respawn.
4) Blood moons can be delayed by unloading the surface map (via depths or shrines) at midnight.
5) Blood moons can be forced by causing a bunch of lag or otherwise overloading the RAM.
Bonus) cutscene changes once story advances past a certain point.
Yeah, I got the panic blood moon (5) to happen. Usually happens all the time in botw, but I guess I got it to happen here too.
Noted Constant enemies don't respawn during Blood Moon because they are not Ganon minions
Ok. Wait. I am confused on the Cutscene Blood moon. So Zelda disappears after you have done the 4 region quests and finished the quest that deals with Hyrule castle after that?
yes, because of the plot. After you progress that far, "Zelda" will no longer appear in the cutscene because of what happens in that part of the story
yea progress in the story to no longer hear it
@@PhillyBeatzU good to know
Objects like trees, crates, etc. Those will simply respawn when you leave the area & come back or reload a save. They of course have nothing to do with the Blood Moon. Kind of a silly experiment there. It's pretty clear that you're a new player who didn't play the 1st game. I gotta ask why? It was amazing!
