This game was played on New Year's Day 2008, which was part of the 2007 season. The 2008 season, played 8 months after this game, is where RichRod's 3 years of hell started.
Chad Henne. Still a very serviceable back-up QB, which for practice, team and injury purposes, is truly an important role on the team. Tim Tebow... 48% completion percentage and hasn't thrown a pass since 2012.
Sigh...the last time Michigan was in a bowl game. Will things get any better this year, than the last two? I really have doubts, Rodriguez has effectively destroyed what's good and decent about Michigan football.
Not one single draft eligible player, and there was truly a plethora of first and early round talent in this game, opted out. That wasn't a thing back then. You never gave up on your team on a NY6 bowl. Ohio State just had a bunch of players opt out of the Rose Bowl. Because who cares about the Rose Bowl now !? I miss these days.
@gomichiganrailmst3k i cant believe you said we got destroyed by appy st. we lost by less than a field goal we chocked. we didnt get destroyed! Go Blue
I went to high school and college with Carson, he's a good player but he has temper issues that lead to stupid penalties, that's what hounded him throughout his time at Michigan in my opinion.
Lloyd Carr's last game as a head coach, while it was not good for me to see Florida lose, I'll take exception with Michigan because the Lloyd Carr era was a successful one in my lifetime and the one I remember most, I don't really remember Bo Schembechler because he last coached when I was just a 4 year old. But regardless, I always liked Michigan when Lloyd Carr was the coach, Rich Rod messed things up bad at Michigan.
Not only was this special because it was Coachs last game. But every fucking analyst and coach out there picked FLA and their golden boy to dominate us.
One of my favorites michigan games ever, went to my boys house up at central michigan and partied on new years so was hung over and hurtin bad, and just had the feeling of a michigan flop that day. Then they just came out like the best team in the country. Besides that interception chad was throwin missle's out there. Oh to relive that glorious day.
Yeah. LOL! I did the gator chomp at the TV screen when they zoomed in on Meyer after the game was wrapped up. Braylon Edwards did the gator chomp to the UF fans after we beat them in 2003 too.

I'm pretty sure he was an almost sure NFL QB after the 2006 season.
That was another masterpiece. The odds against me and Michigan Football projected by Vegas and ESPN were 96-4 Florida.
i miss this swagger on defense...in this game they gave up some points but they've got that swagger like no one can touch them

remember this florida team...just came off a national title and won it the year after. And we should have won by more if hart doesnt fumble.
It's too bad Michigan did not play like this for the whole 2007 season.

The Capital One Bowl was the last time Michigan fielded a good team, the next time is the opener against Western Michigan in 2011.

This game alone put Chad Henne into position to be an NFL QB
Lloyd Carr FTW!!
I want to know where that SEC "speed" that im always hearing about was at 2:03...
It was very obvious that Michigan was much too physical for Florida. Same in 2003.
I really miss Lloyd Carr.
They were # 5 going into App State game!
Players claimed they got high before the game!
That was the year prior idiot

I've been to both games against Florida, and both we won :) Hopefully we can increase our record to 2-0 against Meyer this coming season.
I love how the crowd (mainly Gator fans) greets this team... Great game
@Gold21030 Great prediction, the 2011 Wolverines did turn out to be a pretty solid football team.
@mr101AWESOME Yep. He watched the game with Bill Martin.
2:19 Carlos Butler's block is sick!
6:30 Now that's blitzing with a sense of urgency.
9:21 What a catch!
I just wish that we saw this all season
Michigan looked like a new/faster team than they played all year,it was fun to watch.

Braylon Edwards did the gator chomp to the UF fans after we beat them in 2003 too.
If they did... NC anyone?
What a great game for Carr to go out on.
I remember when this bowl game was announced.. I picked UF winning/ covering this one. lol looks like I was wrong
@Dmoney8dos SEC SEC SEC SEC!!!!!
ONLY 65,000?
I copy them myself from my game tapes.
Did he ever get you tickets?
5:45 michigan guy slaps gator haha
