There are multiple articles on them, highest mileage I've heard about is over 600k still running. There was a reddit ask me anything where a taxi driver said how the escape hybrids were more reliable than the crown vics. It's a bulletproof setup. It's literally one of the most reliable powertrains made in the last few decades. Case in point, crown vics are reliable, but they're also known for having transmission and engine issues once they get up there in mileage. Mostly head gaskets from what I've heard. By comparison, the 2.5 hybrid has been on sale for about 15 years. The biggest "issue" is it can go through a lot of coolant, which isn't even a problem.
Back in early in late 90’s I use to work at a rent-a-car place. They had a few of these Crown V. They were super reliable. They never broke down. Practically all cars always went to the shop after a few miles while the Crown V. Continue with no problem. Such a solid car. When you dove it, you knew you were driving a well made car. Miss those cars.

Actually puts less wear on an engine to be running and idling continuously for the entire day, than it does to stop and restart the engine a bunch of times in the same period, because every time you stop the engine, it heat cycles, and every time you start it, it has to run without oil pressure for a couple of seconds. Heat cycling is what wears engines out, not idle time.

Makes me miss mine. The plastic floors are the best, it always looks clean and smells like a new car if you take care of it. So spacious in the front and fun to drive

My grandfather always had LTDs and Crown Vics while I was growing up. After his passing I obtained his 2001 Crown Vic and I have never seen a video like this that reaffirmed many things that I didn't know were normal with this type of car. Mine only has 70000 miles and still drives like new.
I got my Mom's 2000 Grand Marq after she couldn't drive any more. It's at 148K and, other than a brake job (new rotors), replacing the spark plugs, tires and standard maintenance.... All I've had to do is add gas and drop 'er in gear.
I miss that. However my Grand Marquis has most of that. What my Grand Marquis doesn't have... Spotlight. A non-working speaker. Rubber floor mat. Standby mode (my old P-71 had a little red button allowed me to grab my keys, and leave the car running unattended with the steering wheel and shifter locked. Mine didn't have the foot bulb). The ability to cruise at 80+ MPH and get 27 MPG at the same time. Built in power inverter. I kept the power inverter from my old P-71. I miss all that.

Uuhhh what? 😂 the fuel tank is pushed way far forward for that exact reason. The rear collision rating to get hit and possibly still drive away is 70mph !

Years ago I was an office admin for a specialty construction company. One of the estimators and I went to a client in the "hood (which is where I live)."
