Your such a joy to watch and enjoy! We all are surprised by our supplies at times! The one thing I love about watercolors is the excitement they bring and I like a little unpredictability or spontaneity in washes. I do not like it when paint rushes across the page uncontrolled and gushes into other elements I want to keep clean. I would give the china some color and the table I see as marble or a cherry wood laminate for the top. Maybe you could match the chairs? I do wonder how you continue to create such lovely videos! Well you are a GEM Correct? Right! Be safe over there and take care.
Geraldine turned out so pretty! I really love her colours :) I've actually been working on my ScrawlrBox painting from August while I was watching you. Did some small flicking motions on that, too, haha! Still have a long way to go to finish my painting, since I don't paint every day. But I'm getting there :)
I have the more fits with hatching. As I color more I find hatching totally throws off my work. Wish I could figure out why. Because of you I have also been working with water more, ie: watercolor crayons, pencils and paints (really budget friendly products). Thank you for giving me the confidence to branch out. 💖😎🍁
Geraldinelooks great! The giraffe was my high school mascot. His name was Gerald. The school colors were brown and yellow. I enjoy watching you use your Derwent Inktense pencils. I have a,set of 12 that I bought years ago when they were a new pencil on the market. Most ppl were not interested in them. I always enjoyed being able to take a wet paintbrush to them years ago. Waterbrush pens hadn't come on the scene yet. I recently dug them out of a box of old art supplies. It's fun to rediscover something you forgot you had. I would like to see you color the tea set a seafoam greenish blueish color if possible. The table would look good being a dark wood with grayish silver surround. That's how I see it, anyway. Btw I'm getting a new set of Inktense pencils, the 72 count set. Also, a set of water brushes too.
She turned out adorable! i think it will look strange if you don't do something with the cups. Mostly because they are looking mighty flat against everything else. You don't have to actually color them though. Might be interesting to collage them or something like that. or use a paper doily on them to give them a sort of 3d look. And I think that table is probably metal and silver mirror. I have seen antique tables like that, where it's metal painted white with a mirrored surface. I am also not a huge fan of Zoos but I do love the San Diego Wild animal park. It' a really neat place and they are very focused on conservation of animals. They have a HUUUGE facility and much room to grow. They also have a delightful program where you can camp overnight near one of the big enclosures and go on a night tour. They also have a giraffe encounter where you can feed the giraffe from a platform. This is where Ivan lived whom I mentioned before. He was on loan for their breeding program, he is back to his original home but has left a pretty indelible mark and a lot of baby giraffes! He was very serious about his job.
Just sent for my copy of this lovely book - a long term project for me as I usually sketch rather than colour so I hope to really improve my techniques. Love this - and also the chatter about your life is great too.
She's beautiful! Ty for your tips with this medium. I've been blending the pencils before I activate them but I'm thinking your way of layering them might yield better results. I'm going to give it a go.😊💙
Have had this book for awhile, have been scared to start in it. I have the inktense too. Now I'm thinking it would be interesting to do the whole book with intense ( after all it is the Ink house). The table to me looks wood with gold filigree around the edge. The back of the chairs to match the blue in Herman's shell. Tea set needs a color to show off the chocolate dripping down, pale blue? Thanks for all your time you give to help us. And your doggies are adorable!
Hi Kathy! 👋🏽👋🏽 I think I am going to do the whole book in Inktense. This might be a nice front-to-back project after Enchanted Forest. Thank you for the suggestions!
Funny I’m the opposite, I tend to make things darker. Where’s Woo? I got this book at Christmas, I’m still too nervous about colouring it in case I ruin it.🤦♀️
Woo was asleep through in the sun room - I tend not to disturb her because she's an old girl now, and being deaf as a post now she couldn't hear the big dogs crunching 😂 I say give it a bash - I bet you'll do a great job! There are lots of pages with smaller areas where you could just try a bit at a time?
I love this series! I'm curious about your remodel (we've been remodeling an older home also). Could you hire a carpenter to build wood cabinets and stain them? I'm curious to know if things are different across the pond, or if you or the designer just really prefer those specific cabinets or pre-built cabinets in general. Here in the US, I know several people who do remodeling and woodworking near me, or we could go buy lumber and build and stain them ourselves if we thought we were skilled enough. lol (Please ignore me if I'm being too nosy. I'm honestly just curious about the differences in daily life in other parts of the world.)
There are many options for things like that. Hiring someone to build a custom kitchen from scratch is a very expensive endeavour here. For a kitchen of our size, you'd be looking at £30 - 40k upwards, and it's money we can't justify - that's heading up to a years salary for a lot of people. (Especially when our sun room roof is like a block of Swiss cheese!) Our pre-built cabinets are generally good quality at a fraction of the price, and the current trend of painted units jives well with that sort of thing. Most people will buy a pre-fab kitchen which can be real timber, just timber doors or full laminate units (usually cheapest) depending on their budget, and most specialist kitchen companies offer a full design service free of charge, which nine times out of ten works better than you could have done yourself. I don't mind questions like this at all, I'm also curious about how things are done in other countries too!
Good afternoon 👋😊 your pup's are so cute and this page is so beautiful thank you for sharing them both stay safe and be careful 🙏🖌️🎨✍️💌
Awww, the doggos are sooo cute!
I Love You Geraldine 🦒 I think you should color in the tea cups ☕ because it will balance out the top of the page. 😍 🖌🖌🖌
Gorgeous! I love everything you do! Happy Artober!

Love your suggestion for the table, and I'm glad you are 'rediscovering' these pencils 😊 (Also love your story about Gerald!) - thanks for sharing!

I'm waiting for a Hobbycraft delivery to be able to start inktober I ordered the intense pencils after watching you using them your dogs are so cute
I think you could touch them with a pale blue, Geraldine is gorgeous.
Yaaa! Thursday! Loved this. Loved this book since I first saw look at it on RUclips. Do you think you will finish book in entirety? Cheers🍹💐
I actually think this may be my next front-to-back project after I finish Enchanted Forest, so yes!

I do use both methods, it depends on what I'm looking for - it does also depend on the paper. Thinner paper I tend to blend them first.
@@TheColourCave thank you😊
Geraldine is gorgeous! I think the teaset needs some color! Love watching you art!

Yes. Yes we do. 😁
