- Without doubt this is my most anticipated game of all time. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was the catalyst that created this entire channel over 8 years ago!! To be here now with the MEATY section of the FF7 story that is Rebirth. I've done theory after theory, trailer reaction vids for days, speculated on news and held my breath for this game long enough. Its time to dive in and see if Rebirth truly lives up to its early metacritic reviews. This could be the ending stream of all streams for the channel. Potentially. I can't wait to get in and have you guys along for the ride! I'm going to be SLOOOW burn playing this playthrough and enjoying Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth while I'm mid travels. Starting here in Bali and probably get to the ending in Australia. Twins getting married so there may be some chop in the playthrough consistency. May be a tech issue or two lmao. Nah Pez I agree with you 100% on the fanbase, it's fucking weird. All these people who stay in the FF community but year after year hate all the games, it is baffling.
Been a lurker of your content for years now. I'm just glad you became active again on here to play it live while in the middle of your world tour lol. Since everyone else has already streamed it and are releasing theory content, it's nice to see one of the remaining streamers' experiences with Rebirth. It is a gorgeous game that really earned it's price. You're gonna be cooking on high after you reach that ending, my friend.
even though i am a hardcore OG fanboy with a bias against much of the compilation, i have to admit rebirth is 95% amazing. the level of detailing and passion that went into it is just mindblowing. it's a pity they are not getting the sales they deserve, hopefully that will change
...it would be a massive shame for square to not get rewarded when they finally started getting things right again
The way I see it is, its a celebration of FF7 made by people who love it and think its irreplaceable, for people who love it and think its irreplaceable. That's why it sits between remake and sequel. Square is absolutely cooking, they know as creators of art that it isn't possible to satisfy everyone, but they have us on the edge of our seats on this long ass journey of loving the world of FF7 again. No one else could have done it, and for a lot of us FF fans who've been waiting for something special, a sign that Square is on an up, this is absolutely it.
It’s been fun to get to be on a FF ride with you once more, I’m almost sad to see it end! I accidentally started at the same time as you so it was fun to hear your reactions as I was going through the same parts of the game. Thank you for being so genuine with your thoughts and enjoyment Pez.🎉

Yeah about the humor of the game, I was intially annoyed at how often the game would try to be funny and goofy. For comic relief we had: Barret, Red, Yuffie, Rude, Elena, Roche, Kyrie, Johnny, Dio, Cait, Palmer, Cid / Vincent, Chadley and Mia, even Sephiroth, Aerith and Cloud were funny sometimes. (Basically only Tifa was never comedy relief)
At times it can feel like it's too much and it almost breaks immersion, because Remake tried so hard to be down to earth / realistic and now we are in mega goofy territory. But the more the story progressed the more I started appreciating those silly moments. At some point I was just like "yeah I mean the story is pretty whacky and there's all this supernatural stuff, so why not have these silly over the top moments."
pez i 100% agree with you. This game felt like a ps1/ps2 game with the amount of content and enjoyment it throws at us. Feels surreal compared to games released in this generation

As someone who isn't a video game or media critic, and whose #1 game has been the OG FF7 for damn near 30 years, all I can say is...this was a religious experience. It's my new favorite game of all time, and that is EASY to say. I bow down in gratitude that this even exists.
rebirth is 99/100 for me the only complaint I had is no preset build loadout where you can save you materia arrangement, it breaks the immersion everytime you about to do climax battle or climax story you have to go trough you materia again, sometime takes even longer than the fight itself, even just to check if you have that 1 materia you has to have and could be the deferent between doing the battle for 5 hours straight or finished it in 5 minutes, really square every action focused battle should has build save loadout its just common senses

Im glad you'e enjoying it, man I don't know, I'd consider myself a big FF fan. I just couldn't get myself excited with 7 anymore. 16 on the other hand was refreshing and the quality of the writing, cinematics and overall presentation was phenomenal. Gameplay wise it is definitely simpler, but the world was infinitely more interesting to me.

Compared to Remake, the sheer scale of Rebirth, the amount of improvements and the amount of content are mind boggling compared to the relatively short time in development. This game must have had all of the budget and hundreds of people who love this franchise work overtime because it's just unbelievable what they were able to achieve in that time.
I love this game, I love what they did with the story and I only hope the sales pick up in the future, because I want Square-Enix to continue making these things. This is prime Squaresoft stuff, but it doesn't seem profitable so far ;/

I'd say only this. Take your time on the ending. Keep an open mind. And remember EVERYTHING that came before because the ending is dense and deeply connected to the rest of FF7 compilation.
Rebirth is one of the best games I've played and I'm so happy it came into being in my lifetime. FF7 has such a special place in my heart.
The combat is so much fun, both for people like me that prefer things to be easier but it also has the depth for the people that prefer more complex combat. I personally think it's the best combat system in a FF game for a long time.
The characters are so well rounded and realised, and I love all of them.
There is so much charm and love in this game and you can really tell how much the developers love FF7 and it's world.
My only fear is that we all know SE's track record on games and them "not meeting expectations". FF7 Rebirth is one of the best rated FF games in years and one of the best FF games in years imo, but that largely means nothing if people don't buy it. I don't think part 3 is in danger, but I fear that SE will shy away from putting this kind of effort and resources into future FF games, and that would be a real shame.

about Dyne dead scene, they change it because in OG it doesnt makes sense its a plot hole, because Dyne assume died too falling of ledge before when he was with barret, but he turn out to be alive, so they try to close the argument that Dyne can still be surviving the fall the 2nd time, they just try to make sure that Dyne is really dead, so they change how he die, a lot of decisions to change things in remake/rebirth actually to close a plot hole

@@kevninetytwo2348 maybe it was a joke but I remember I poped into one of the rebirth streams and he was saying how Rebrith has made him rethink quitting RUclips because he wasn’t having fun with it anymore or something like that, and that the game was getting him excited again. Idk if it’s true or if it was a joke which is why I said if he does. I know he’s been doing traveling and stuff so maybe he just was thinking about it.
@@justingabriel1765 I don't blame him, I don't say this to insult him but look at his views these days. Look at his views for Remake and then compare it to Rebirth views. He's fallen off hard and it's partly RUclips's fault with its algorithm. Plus, he seems to travel a lot now, so making content is probably harder.

@@justingabriel1765 maybe he should. He barely gets views these days, even FF content gets him a couple thousand. Go back some years he was popping 30-40-50k views. Streams were getting 1-2k. Now hes liucky to get a thousand views and a couple hundred on streams. The months of no uploads dont help the channel too and hes not even last to give thoughts on news, hes months late to the party these days. RUclips is probably just an albatross round his neck or whatever the saying is. He uploads because he has it and feels he should. But Id be shocked if hes uploading this because he wants to. Nobody goes to Malaysia, New Zealand, Spain, States and goes, "I wanna work and upload game lets plays to my youtube for the first content in 4/5/6 months with a dodgy set up and have to stress over the equipement etc" probably just wants to chill and enjoy life abroad but feel he has to play and upload because its FF. Just my views anyway. Who knows, only PEz.

maybe because I am asian, so I understand why they pick caith sith for shinra mansion, if I were in dev team I dont have any other choice, because caith = cat and in asia cat is related to supernatural mansion creepy stuff, I dont know what other time where caith sith is suitable in the game, in cosmoe canyon in the cave of gi no, in gold saucer? he already work in gold saucer it doesnt make sense to make him lead the gold saucer section, so a lot of dev choice is the best choice that they can ever think off at the limited time on developing the game

I Disagree the Cait Sith box throwing crap in FF7 Rebirth was a unnecessary pain in the arse and i didn't like how Square Enix ruined Dynes death in Rebirth. Dyne ending his own life was better in OG
The message of continuing to survive would not be as strong if he ended himself. Dyne's last stand was done better in Rebirth. Barret will live with his guilt. There is no getting off of this train. A little change of how Dyne dies gave Barret massive character development.
hmm... I dont think the new elements they added (zack alive, new word or new timelines, different stamps, etc) collaps the core element of what ff7 are? maybe it collapsing what all of you think what ff7 are but that is you own take of what ff7 are, its just in your mind and its not Nojima or Nomura real takes on what ff7 are? how do you know that from the OG from the very beginning its already are new timeline concepts, that the OG ff7 is actually 1 of countless timeline loop that happened hundreds maybe millions timeloop already? how do you know? fyi all final fantasy series is happening in pararel worlds since ff1, even with gilgamesh going back to ff1 worlds to fight warrior of light, the concepts is there, but people who already decide the "core" of FF7 in their own mind doesnt want to see it, or too blind to see it
