I have started cold showers 4 years ago, and this year 2023 I have started swimming in open water / lakes. I love doing it in JFM and OND. I swim 200 m, stay up to 12 mins in 45 degrees F water ⛄️💪. I love it, because of the calmness in brings in me after the swim. I have not had a cold since winter 2018 …. I feel so much connected to nature now ! I am 61 and leave in Switzerland
i do 47~49 3 min 2-3 times a day oddly on my whoop since i started doing 3min 2 hours before bed give or take my recovery sleep went from avg 23% to 82% ! and HRV up 12
Thanks for this video. I am Indigneous and our people have done spirit baths forever. I starting bathing in the glacier river in Canada in the summer. The glacier river always stays very cold. It's November now and we're still going about 5-6 times per week. I've had inflammation issues for most of my life that have disabled me at times and threatens deformity in my feet, knees and hands. Doctors medications never worked well for me so I do the cold plundges, extreme diet and Indigenous anti-imflammatory medicines. I am obsessed with the river dips which is always accompanied by a walk through our rainforest. Thanks for this video!
Great video. Thanks. I have been at it for 6 months now. This is totally anecdotal- just my experience: 10 minutes, 7 days a week, 38 degrees. Blood pressure dropped nicely, testosterone went way up,my mood better all day, wakes me up way more and quicker than morning coffee ☕️.
Two weeks ago I did my first cold plunge. These videos on YT helped me mentally prepare with the breathing. I stayed in for only 3 minutes, but I honestly didn't know how long I'd make it for. Afterwards I enjoyed float therapy. I can't wait to go again, because initially I thought I wouldn't do it again, now I'm wanting it again.
been doing it for almost a month now, almost every day. Sleeping better, better recovery from workouts ( had backpain and that has subsided), better mood and mindset, confident boost, less stressed.
between 35-40 degrees cause I live in NH and its cold AF out now lol. Go in anyway... don't even think about it. The water is often warmer than outside temp lol
Also, lots of people sick around me and I barely have had a sniffle this winter ( knock on wood). I couple it with regular workouts , yoga 2-3 X a week, and meditation a few times a week.
I'm 61 and dealing with chronic illness. Researching and trying everything that might help me. I have been listening to a number of videos regarding this. The idea of it is difficult for me to be excited about it... it seems like it would be tortuous. But then so is my chronic illness. I guess I should just steel myself to do it...
I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and instead of using heavy medications, I decided to try cold plunging every day. I am stronger mentally and physically since doing my cold plunging in 5 degrees celsius for 3-4 minutes daily. The cold is my medicine.
My cold tank 150 gallon gets as cold as 36 degrees which I do 2 minutes. When temperature rises to 50 degrees I do for 3 minutes . Any temperature above 50 I use my shower averages 60 degrees I do for 3.5 minutes. Benefits include mood / skin / resiliency!
I have been cold plunging for about a year. Temp 45 degrees. I do it for 4 minutes a day. I feel like my memory has gotten much better ( Im in my middle 60's ) I can concentrate more, and feel it has done wonders for inflammation. if it only did that much, it would be worth it. If you do the breath exercises before you enter the water ( wait until you feel normal again after the breathing exercises..wm hoff ) you can tolerate the cold a little better. It doesnt take that long to plunge. and the benefits last all day. Good luck !
Thank you for finally explaining how cold plunges improve your cardio vascular system. It has take me ages to find an explanation of how it works. I do three cold plunges a week at 5 degrees celsius or 41 Fahranheit. I like to stay in for 20 minutes at a time which seems to be a good amout of time for me. I have found lately that even at 20 minutes I don't get codl or shiver which I find really strange. I didn't think my body would adapt to it like that.
Started sea swimming when pools shut due to Covid was suffering with asthma and chronic polymyalgia,I was on steroids and strong anti inflammatory drugs;as sea got colder noticed my symptoms subsiding by the time I got to February with a sea temp of 6-10 degrees swimming 5-10 mins I was drug free and even started racing triathlon again in the spring wasn’t looking for any health benefits but got them anyway😊😊😊
Cold plunge 6-8 min at 38deg usually 4-5 x/ week Lots of orthopedic surgeries and 5 spine surgeries to date.. Addng Cold plunging has been a game changer for decreasing inflammation..
I am hooked on cold plunge! It all started on a Viking Cruise. Those ships have a cold pool right next to the sauna, perfect!! I was apprehensive but tried it and now I am in for the long haul!!!
I like ice cold showers in the winter, but in the summer the water doesn’t get cold enough. I thought about doing the bathtub and adding bags of ice to, I have yet to try it.
@@jjvirginvideosadded more ice and ice pack and lowered temperature to 47-50 F. Slowly increased to 30+ minutes each day. Trying to reduce overall body fat. Thanks JJ.

I have been an open Water swimmer for years - mainly in the summer and I swim at 18- 19*C every 3 days. However I have extreme histamine issues with a history of going into anaphylaxis when I eat high-histamine foods and I have a hunch I have MCAS. I also have autoimmune disease. So last Autumn I kept on swimming - at first time 17*C then 15*C then 12*C. It did make me high, but my body went into a deep state and I slept for the whole next day. I'm wondering what's going on....?? Since this time I have implemented a low-histamine diet.... which has been miraculous. So perhaps after this, I can reintroduce the cold swimming without my body going into deep state??
Thank you for this video! God bless you! 🙏❤️💯. Happy Easter everyone! 💐 Jesus is Risen! He is coming soon! Accept and believe in Jesus Christ! John 3:16, Revelation 20:15, 1 Corrinthians 15 1-4, Romans 10 9 and 10, Ephesians 2 8 and 9 JESUS LOVES YOU!
My wife got me a cold plunge tank for my birthday. I’m 43 and still playing hockey so yeah, some days after a game are pretty sore. Any recommendations on temp and how long to get started? Thanks for any insight…

I'm a cold water ocean swimmer. NEVER thought I would tolerate it let alone enjoy it. Now I LOVE it.
I healed L4& L5 herniated discs in 16 days 43* water 20 minutes. April 2020 in the ocean I'm hooked. Didn't know the other benefits!!👍👍👍
You were in 43 degree water for 20min 16 days in a row? That's amazing. Can you elaborate more on the process and your injury. Thanks 👍
20 mins total for 16 days? Or 20 mins each plunge?

Incredible progress! Keep me updated, that's awesome! 😄
Wow you can handle 38 degrees for 10 minutes?! That's incredible!
given a little time, you get used to it and then realize you need that kick every day. It gets me going more than a cup of coffee.

38 degrees for 4.5 minutes first thing every morning prior to working out.

It may be the 'inner fire' Wim Hof talks about. I wish I can get there.
Thank you for your reply, this is how I do cold plunges. ruclips.net/video/Tgojuye_QPk/видео.html
I've been doing 47 degrees for 6 minutes for a week. I feel amazing. Better mood. Joints feel better. Sleeping better. Blood pressure down. It's quite amazing!
❤❤❤ Much appreciated the vital information that I never knew off..
I do 54 degeree water 3-4x a week - I found my job as a firefighter has become much easier to deal with and Yes I sleep better
I agree with your temperature range, I’ve seen no proof that plunging in ice water has added benefits. Great job!

42 for 2 mins to 3 every day and wow I feel great my moods better I'm ready to take on anything
I use my bathtub!!! Our water runs pretty cold, especially in Winter. It’s amazing.

That would definitely work. Let me know how it goes when you try it!
I'm loving it , I just started about (1) one month ago and I feel those health benefits....💢💯😍
That's awesome 😍
Cold pod at 52-54 degrees on average for 15 -25 minutes. Feeling mental clarity, feeling increase in energy and alertness for hours after the plunge.
Amazing! So glad to hear it :)

I do 43° for five minutes every morning after meditation.
I also submerge my face in a bowl of ice water every morning while washing my face : 35°.
So many good puns, great thumbnail and great start to the video! How do you do it!!!!?
Help me quit drinking❤
59°F cold showers twice a day every day.
Lost 14 lbs in two weeks.
This is so good
Thank you.
Great video, would this therapy also help internal bleeding?
Saunas are also beneficial for health. It seems a bit odd that both extreme hot and cold are good for you as they are opposites.
Cold plunging is making me more hungry, but I feel really good, relaxed and not stressed anymore
Everyday first thing after waking. 45 degrees for 4 minutes

Every morning 3-7 mins at 37°F
I went into my pool when it was 60 degrees, and my heart stopped for a second or two. Needless to say, at 62, it ain't for me
That temp isnt cold enough. try below 60
I don't drink coffee. My drugs of choice is enjoying a piece of dk.chocolate during my PreDawn Cold plunges.
I like this idea! Going to steal it
