I got 750 Million Bonk airdropped to me in 2022 but traded it a year ago for just 85 SOL.
but what you're describing is that value of the phone is BONK, use it for game NFTs and as collector's item? I thought it was supposed to be a tool to onboard millions of users to web3 so why was the production limited to 20k phones and there aren't any updates on future plans?

Buying the phone just because you want the airdrops doesn't negate that's its a bad phone from a Technical perspective. Also outside of buying Solana just so it can go up in price what is the use case for the token?
but it's actually quite a capable and quality phone, certainly no worse than the Huaweis and Oppos and Xiaomis out there. But the Solana phone is uniquely innovative and has actual real world use case for its network and ecosystem

Basically you're being PAID to get this phone, and not just at initial sale, you're getting future airdrops from companies that are now starting to develop on the solana chain. They could be worthless, or they could take off, just like how Solana and Bonk did, but you're getting them for free anyway to begin with, no payment, no cost. If they take off, you get a windfall. If they don't, you can just delete and forget it or just leave them in your phone. My whole argument is, even if you take away all the crypto stuff from the phone, it's still a fully functional phone (and is not that bad looking either) that is no worse than those Oppos or chinese phones out there , and yet there are lots of people buying those chinese phones that not only has none of the Solana's security features but most likely riddled with chinese spyware and trojans.
All other phones can integrate this too and it would kill this phones opportunity.

Solana saga phone may not be the best phone tech but if you don’t have to pay for it and actually get paid to buy one then it’s hands down the best phone

Again as a phone and all crypto aspects aside, the saga phone is absolutely horrible. Especially at the starting price of $1000. The only way I am in favor of them continuing this phone is if they never charge more than four or $500.

I like Marques, but make no mistake he thinks crypto is a joke. All crypto. So I’ll skip this video because I saw his original scathing review of the Solana phone and doubt he’ll change his stance.
TLDR the phone isn’t as state of the art as an iPhone or latest Galaxy but that’s not the point. It is fir crypto use and M thinks the phones main use case, is pointless.

You have to remember MKBHD reviews phones from around the world. So he doesn’t really understand the added crypto benefits, or crypto as a whole. That being said if you are looking at the saga phone as just a phone, it is a horrible phone for the price. For $400 you can get a phone that is 10 times better.
So I don’t blame him at all. Because he does not understand crypto.
Besides airdrops to a wallet address linked to your phone, what is the crypto benefit? Now your KYC info is connected to your wallet because you bought the phone with a Credit Card and have an active SIM with your personal number attached to it. Congrats.
He also hates crypto and has no intention of using crypto or wallets.
Brownlee has been anti crypto for a while now, maybe the phone wasn't as good as the others but I feel that because it was attached to crypto he had to go out of his way smear it.
MKBHD is a tech youtuber... "TECH" youtuber. He reviews NOT only phones but everything tech. He definitely understands crypto, while Paul seems to only understand only the profiting side of crypto haha. I am investing some of my money on crypto projects that I feel has real world use case and not just some hype and shit - including this Solana phone. It's just a BAD phone, period.
It only makes a sale because of the BONK airdrop which is exactly the reason I and probably MKBHD hates crypto. It seems like the purpose of every incoming crypto project is for the devs and early investors to profit and take easy money from the stupid retail hahaha.

Have we all just lost common sense? This is the same thing as getting a QR code at an event and scanning it to your current phone to receive an airdrop. Except that this Solana wallet is now connected to your KYC data (Credit Card, SIM). Revolutionary.
Its price on eBay has nothing to do with its quality as a smartphone. The only reason for its recent renaissance was purely because of the BONK token giveaway. That doesn’t make the phone any better or worse as a phone. It’s still the same quality phone it was when it was released early this year when it was derided by everyone. Also MKBHD is not an iPhone lover. He might be an appreciator but he’s in the Android camp.

I bought the phone last Friday they gave me a confirmation number but have not shipped it! And I can't get them to respond back. Very frustrating . My receipt shows where the helium cards were made but they just won't ship it or respond back to me😮
