I will never forget Josh's video of SuperTyphoon Haiyan. That was his best storm chase ever. Enduring the aftermath in Tacloban City was a hardship. This particular Super Typhoon Man-Yi was very violent. I was getting concerned about your safety with all that stuff flying around you. I went through Milton recently and it was not fun but it was nothing like the storm's Josh takes on.
Oh my gosh! Its been so long! Im so glad you're doing alright! Appreciate every video you do! Documenting storms like this is dangerous, but its amazing that you go through these storms to get such great quality videos too! I really do feel so sorry for the people that had to go through this storm🥹🙏❤
Transported me back to what happenned in 2017 with Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. We are still in recovery, I pray for the people there so they can recover fast and stronger. Thank you for the video.
It's a borderline miracle you managed to get back within a month of that Typhoon, the amount of mountain roads that could have been completely wiped out by slides and downed trees was incredible.
What an absolute WPAC Beast. Rare to have the backside be worse, footage reminded me a little of IAN back in the States. Glad you stayed safe and got the goods.👊 What resilient people too, they've really adapted to Typhoons in that part of the world. It seems like they know exactly what to do and how to start the recovery process... And the smile never leaves their faces.
Outstanding presentation of your MAN--YI Chase, Josh! I'm exhausted after "helping" you live through it! Fantastic editing by James Jackson (with a few little tweaks from you, I am sure)! Arman Bacani's driving skills are incredible! I have dozens of comments & questions, but will try to sort through them before I start sending them to you! What an Epic Chase!!! This video proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, You are the BEST!!! 🌀💪🤓😎
Wow, what an epic chase! I really like these long-form videos that document the travel process and the storm itself, it makes it all feel so adventurous. That back eyewall was crazy, definitely some 150 mph+ gusts in there, and yet the locals barely seemed phased. Those people sure are tough and clearly used to these storms. I'm excited to see the videos from your other big chases this year, assuming you plan to post more of them.
Josh - dude - EXCELLENT vid! Very well presented. Glad you were safe, and had "mates" of some sort in that green building, and had come prepared with food & water, etc.. I lived for ~13 years in southern China (Guangzhou and Hong Kong), and went through multiple typhoons. Many only got to T8 or T9, and, especially the T8 typhoons, were a reason to party. Many places - even on the other islands, have bars that stay open for "typhoon parties". Used to have free drinks for T8 & above, though, T8 was my limit to be away from our flat, walking the dog in the eye of the storm. (If you're ever in Hong Kong for a typhoon and want to ride it out "in town" (the ferries, busses, even trains, etc. all shut down for T8), go to Stormy's in Lan Kwai Fung, in Central. Party central, which used to have free drinks if you rode out the typhoon there, T8 & above. Don't know if they still do this, so you'd need to check.) However, for the T9s and especially, the direct full-hit T10s, I actually got scared several times. Once, took refuge in our enclosed central hallway, with all of the doors closed, sat on the floor calming my dog, as the winds not only rattled all windows, but had the cement high-rise swaying alarmingly. Had a friend whose picture window blew in & shattered all over their living room/ lounge. Was damage EVERYWHERE, for the ~5 T9/10s I went through. The debris & ripped-off roofs, the decimated banana plantations, etc., reminded one of just how dangerous those T9 & 10s could be. One time, 20 workers living in bunkhouses in Shenzhen, lost their lives. Other times, multiple people also died throughout the HK territories, and I think a landing airplane was almost pushed by the winds into the ocean. Scary. Respect for this vid, bro. Happy 2025! Oh, and @ ~6:11, those purple skies are likely due to one of the planets, Atu', in our sister solar system, which is the real cause of the very real "climate change". Every 3600 years or so, we rotate into each other, with our larger sister solar system often causing great havok on Earth, our sun, and the other planets in our solar system. For more info, see: 1) "AN UNDERSTANDING OF THE SKIES WITH SAMUEL HOFMAN", for an introduction to the Nibiru System (NOT just one planet - a whole solar system, with a red dwarf star/ sun -- our sun's "binary twin" - MOST stars/ suns are in binary/ trinary 'pairs", with each sun having its own planets/ solar system, all electrically thread-linked). The Nibiru System, in addition to that red dwarf star and its REALLY-HIGH radiation and magnetism, also has 8 mainly MASSIVE planets, their moons, and their associated asteroid/ meteor/ debris fields. The planet Atu' is purple (and as Sam Hofman says, always the SAME purple, around the world and over time), and has a white moon. That white moon apparently brings the storms. Watch the "Understanding" series, to learn about these planets, etc. 2) 'NIBIRU FOLLOWERS ANONYMOUS" - since Sam can't even post on FB anymore, his long-term sub, Rebecca, posts for him. Look for her short, explanatory vids, which are excellent. The UBER-LONG Sat. vids contain good info & pics, but can be a bit of a slog to sit through the off-topic panel chit-chat, etc. Still, you'll learn lots. Cheers, Josh, and again, thank you for this excellent vid. Glad you, the driver (and anyone else with you), and the car - AND the village people, were okay.
It's been a year, I remember Peopito, this super typhoon destroyed my mum's home town Bicol and only 14 fatalities were reported, but luckily, I was on holiday at Bicol before Pepito formed, I was already at Australia when it happened, but I has lucky enough to track this super typhoon through radar.
Have been waiting for this video. Great footage of the storm surge, we dont really get that kind of footage here in the PH. The rain was like being in a power wash, twice. Great video!
This was a very impressive typhoon. I remember you talking about it on twitter, saying things like "It made Helene and Milton feel like tropical storms in comparison" and "It's the strongest storm I've been in since Dorian"... Really puts things in perspective. Your experience with this one reminds me a bit of my experience with Irma with the roof ripping off and you having to find a safe spot in that building on the backside. This one obviously stronger than Irma for me (I was ~15nmi SE or ESE of your location for that storm). It beating out storms like Roslyn and Ian shows this thing really packed a crazy punch, so I'm glad you and your driver got out safe and sound. The widespread devastation caused by the wind afterwards looked like it made your escape quite treacherous, but the people there seemed to really come together afterwards to help let the cars through, which was really cool to see. Glad you finally posted this one, it was truly incredible and I can't wait to see your next video! You're an inspiration to all of us new hurricane chasers and I mean that from the bottom of my heart ❤
Its insane how I was looking back at your channel yesterday for the first time in a year being like "oh they haven't uploaded in a while 🤯" and there you are
That was awesome Josh, glad you got through it unscathed. The trip back was pretty gruelling too. Thanks for sharing the experience. Hopefully we can get a good cyclone in Western Australia this year, though at this point I would give my lefty for a decent thunderstorm.
Wow pretty intense. Do you know what's interesting for me? I live in Cairns, Queensland, which is on the same latitude (only South) and we are surrounded by mountains similar to Aurora. A lot of people here say that Cairns is somehow immune to large cyclones because it's believed that the topography will weaken the winds and lessen the impact of a major cyclone. Category 4's and 5's have hit this coast in the past and yet nobody thinks it can happen in Cairns for the reasons I stated above. Storm surge in a city that is only around 1 to 1.5 metres above high tide level could be another issue. I hope they get back on their feet soon. I imagine it could take a while. Many thanks for posting this. Prayers go out to the affected regions.
Holimoli!!! That back part of the typhoon was insaaaneee!!! Damnnn. Sooo sorry for all the people there 😢 thank you for sharing this and keeping those 2 boys safe. I said it before and say it again. If I have to experience this ever I want to have you close by! You are honest about if things are bad, but also trying your best to keep people save! Damnn that was insaneee
They have been hit so over there with so many typhoons in just one month. Nov & Dec were a terrible time in the Pacific area between typhoons, cyclones & quakes.
Josh you're back I'm so glad I thought something happened to you I wish you did a cover of hurricane Hilary here in Southern California here in los angeles it just brought heavy rain and few rumble of thunder but hardly any wind
We should start calling the backside that comes after the eye the "aftershock", it just sounds so much better. Prayers to the victims. I hope they are having a speedy recovery and doing good right now.
I was expecting you to hop into that plastic covered bike hahaha Do you think the public was warned about the typhoon? I honestly didnt that roof was going to be left standing. Sounds like the chickens made it through. 😂 I cant believe those men were unbolting the power lines like that. So dangerous. Just waiting for the sink hole to swallow you up haha. Another great vid Josh!!!
Yep. Videos coming. You should follow me on Facebook or Twitter if you want the real-time experience. I posted videos constantly during all those chases.
its been a long time this typhoon was really strong it opened our gate in our house we had no electricity for 1 week but our house managed to survive it was signal #4 in isabela

The storm surge was incredible with that typhoon, it was beyond what I expected

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Josh, could be your finest work so far (for me at least) and you know I have been a fan for a few years. Well done Sir
So pleased to see you again! Great video 😊 We chatted on the app formerly known as twitter, which as a fan made my day 😘

New subs here. From philippines. I just love this kind of content. The natural power of the nature. Keep it coming. ❤️
Wow! What an absolutely intense storm.
The Phillipines looks beautiful and its people seem very nice.
This footage is incredible! I’ve seen lots of your footage, and I was surprised by the strength of this one! It’s the wonder of nature baby

I've been waiting so long for a new video ! Miss you😊
That outdoor open air structure seemed like such a dangerous place to be. Glad you made it to a little “safer” shelter for the backside!
Been waiting awhile to see something from your crazy year of chases thanks for all the risks you take to educate us glad you were safe.
This was a very impressive typhoon.

Ngl, I thought the channel was dead for 1 year but good thing you doing okay
Awesome filming
Finally,a new post
For a Category 4 storm, those winds were very intense. Incredible documentation of the typhoon.
YOU FINALLY DID IT!
Josh finally back
That laugh by your driver at 15:43 is the exact laugh I would expect from a person who is driving you into a Typhoon 😂
🤣
They have been hit so over there with so many typhoons in just one month. Nov & Dec were a terrible time in the Pacific area between typhoons, cyclones & quakes.
Did you do a video on hurricane beryl out of all the landfalls couse if not it's okay but glad you came back

Yikes! That escalated fast! My heart and adrenaline were in overdrive just watching the video from safe, calm, snowy Vermont.
I'm your fan from 2021
bentornato caro...da quanto tempo....sei il numero uno...👍💪
Really great chase!!
Beautiful chase!
Happy new year
Hey Josh i need tell you something about 2024 Atlantic hurricane season why you didn't make video about hurricane like Helene or Milton?
I am making videos about them. But i started with MAN-YI because it was so much more intense and interesting than HELENE or MILTON.
Wow man that is crazy, its like your in a wind tunnel with 100+ mph winds. Did you find out what the top wind gusts were in the eyewall?
Jeez that Backside...WOW 😲😲
I was expecting you to hop into that plastic covered bike hahaha
Do you think the public was warned about the typhoon?
I honestly didnt that roof was going to be left standing. Sounds like the chickens made it through. 😂
I cant believe those men were unbolting the power lines like that. So dangerous. Just waiting for the sink hole to swallow you up haha. Another great vid Josh!!!
Just wandering did you chase Helene Milton or beryl?
Yep. Videos coming. You should follow me on Facebook or Twitter if you want the real-time experience. I posted videos constantly during all those chases.
@@iCyclone ok I will be sure to do that asap
You know when that freakin eyewall is on you with that sudden rush of violent wind.
Cheers josh.

I had a strange feeling you uploaded, the year was very busy, Glad you’re back!
Looks like the Typhoon concentrated all its power on the eastern Eyewall the backside looks like hell 😯
Such crazy destruction. Hopefully these towns have made a decent recovery
The video drought has ended once again! Haha
32:22 You know a storm is insane when its trying to break into the shelter
GOATed chase. I'm just glad this monster barely dodged my place by a margin and didn't receive any effect from it at all.
its been a long time this typhoon was really strong it opened our gate in our house we had no electricity for 1 week but our house managed to survive it was signal #4 in isabela
Signal #2 here in Metro Manila typhoon category of Man-yi (pepito)
First
