i hope ryu and some other ogs have stuff like that..... cuz his arcade mode story was weak.
Sad to see her backstory so directly. Whenever people say she's like an evil mirror of Chun-Li, I always have to disagree:
Chun Li lost her father in adulthood, already a detective and with a great sense of morals, and thought he was only missing. She only found out Bison killed him later.
Juri, as a kid, was kidnapped, saw her parents get murdered right in front of her, was left for dead and with no one to hold on during all her childhood and teenage years. The fact that she's not straight up chaotic evil, and more like a mercenary who does things for fun is already impressive.
She's not an evil mirror - she's more akin to a showing that even the goodest of kids can become something else entirely if they lose everyone.
just because bad things happen to your life doesnt mean its impressive for someone to not turn evil. killing will always be wrong
Chun li lost her father at 16 so she was still a kid
She killed everyone in a shopping mall to test out her powers in the OVA, she is straight up evil.

For anyone curious: if you refer to Chun-Li as a friend rather than a teacher, Juri gets mad and says something along the lines of “Oh, do you guys say goo goo gaga at your tea parties?”
If you say that you hate Shadaloo, she laughs and says “Man, you should see your face right now!”
Lol, they addressed the joke about Juri and Cammy riding the motorcycle across the ocean in Five.

I’m shocked about Juri and C Viper working with each other. Viper threatened to arrest Juri in sfv but now I guess that was all a facade. However I’m not sure if I believe Juri about Viper liking destruction as well idk..
Looks like she has no idea how dedicated Viper really is to her job. Probably doesn’t know about her daughter either.
Something I noticed about Juri is that she’s not as well-informed or well-connected as she thinks she is. Like when she claims that she pulled strings to get Chun-Li to resign, despite Chun-Li telling you she’s just on sabbatical.

It's possible C. Viper threatening to arrest Juri was after Juri betrayed her.
The fact that C.Viper and Cammy manage to bond in some way with Juri is remarkable a good growing on Juri open up to....welp at least to Assassins like her XD.
The writing definitely improved after SF5. Not that it's anything special, it's serviceable. Dialogue doesn't feel like it was written by some 3 year old kid and the characters actually show personality. I'm hoping MK does the same and gives us a conquest mode.
SF5 players asked, "Wait how did Cammy and Juri get from Brazil to London in the story mode?"
SF6 answers, "By boat, you idiots. Duh."
OMG, looking at the last picture, I realized that this is the only case I've ever seen when Camy's outfit is actually somewhat adequate, since she is on the boat.
Juri being capable of casual conversation with anyone besides Viper is a step up. Also wont lie those two sittting on cash together looking like some baddies does make me ship them a bit still wish they would have made abel there third teammate . I love him and he's so waisted .

Juri was a chun-li counter part with a similar backstory but the opposite personality. She beat Chun li within and inch of her life but was avenged by cammy of wholm she now seems to have a crush on because cammy never preaches to her she's just there for her when she needs someone.
Viper beats cammy but in 4 seemingly lost to chun-li. Seemingly she's view cammy as being not on her level and has more respect for chun-li .
Even though i can get why Ken and Rufus or Zangief and El Fuete didn't get OVA's since they're aren't main story characters (and Rufus also just suck )
I still wish they would have set aside the waifu bias and gave abel a ova were he had and encounter with guile (especially since they were trying to make him the main characters in the same way they did with axel and Luke) . He was the only other new Characters connected to SIN and now Seth is running around but Abel hasn't returned and Manon and Luke seem to be replacing him so I don't see him showing up in 6 . He honestly doesn't need to be a main characters just a foil to guile since sf4 gave most of the more popular sf2 character a foil but they only ever focused on juri and viper and even viper hasn't been playable since mvc3 .

You do a Masters Quests where she tells you to go destroy barrels and when you get back, she changes into her current outfit instead of the outfit 2 one

Well... Juri is lying half of the time. So... We can only take what she saying as half truth, even if she's more honest as you progress her story beats:
" Yeah, I destroy SIN on my own with ma best friend the tripple secret agent Viper or watev' "

Chun Should be 32 since she was 22 during the events of SF2. This game takes place 10 years after that.

Goddamnit let the voice actor speak. This is like the only thing I don't like with Japanese game that has open world. Just a few noises, one or two word, some laughs instead of saying the actual dialogue
Japanese developers don't want to spend all that money having the actors record so much dialogue. And that's not even considering the fact that they'd have to spend money to record for every language that gets a dub.
Companies like Bethesda can afford it because they hire like 3 voice actors to voice a whole world. Companies like Rockstar have oodles of money to throw around. Money that most other developers lack.
I could say the same with Danganronpa series, except the dialogues are fully spoken in Class Trials 🤔

Its less about laziness and more about the limits of what a dev team can do with the amount of money allocated to them. Publishers only care about making more money than they spend so they are no one's friend. If Capcom the publisher thinks that full voice work is wasted money, then Capcom the developer will not get the money required to pay all those voice actors for voicing the whole script.
There's not much that can be done.

in one of her dialogues juri at first tells her true story but soon after she tells that it was a story she invented on spot, you can never know when juri is lying or not. To me what she tells about cammy and c.viper are bullshits out of her lesbian fantasies.
I think the stories are certainly "from her perspective", but they're also going be some grain of truth to it. Broad statements are true, small ones aren't. Cammy and her did steal a boat and sail with a knocked out Decapre after all. C.Viper likely uncovered Juri not being a loyal SIN operative and manipulated/used her to help her investigation- and once that was done she kept tabs on Juri as a CIA Asset and steered her at other companies to help her infiltrate them. What Juri saw as her and Viper looting companies and being freaky together was just CIA manipulation and her being weaponized by the government. Would all make sense.
But both Juri and Cammy escaped from the authorities in sfv. She isn't making stuff up.
I think Juri was telling the truth but says she’s lying so it looks like she doesn’t care. Towards the end she says all the techniques she taught you were bullshit, but that’s clearly a lie since you literally learn them. Once you say you don’t care if they were bogus and they helped you, Juri let’s her guard down slightly and says you should fight her sometime. I think Juri is just lonely and angry, but has no idea how to show her genuine feelings without self-sabotaging to avoid vulnerability.
The Cammy one has the potential to be true actually. When you put it all together, it fits perfectly with SF5's narrative. I'm pretty sure she just can't afford to trust people and is having trouble opening up to them. It's interesting to say the least.
The part about her backstory is absolutely 100% true. It's even told in an official comic

In Juri's arcade ending she has a cat lounging next to her- and they make a specific point to have the cat meow and jump out of frame as if going to greet someone. Only person in-game with that feline magnetism, and interaction with cats, is Cammy. Sooo I'm thinking Cammy and Juri have a 'thing' but not a relationship. It'll probably be Cammy that finally gets Juri to acknowledge herself and reality finally.

@@Lexicon865 That could be true but- in terms of the scene and the story- why have the cat there otherwise? And why draw attention to it with the audio cue specifically? Do other characters have random cat, dog or other animals in their endings? It just- seems oddly specific (re: her Cammy involvement) and like it would have meant extra work for the dev team, when just Juri staring into the sunset utterly alone would have hammered home the message that much more.
