The only thing I don't like is the V mount, the lack of an on/off switch and additional D Tap outlets. Having a master switch would be much better at shutdown for all of the accessories (not the camera) and a time saver.
Just what I've been looking for, thanks Scott! I'd been wondering how to quickly switch from handheld with v mount to gimbal with NPF, this looks perfect.
@@silversulu I heard that they're waiting to restock with the second batch of these apparently. Things might be slowed down at the moment because of the holiday in China unfortunately. Sorry for the trouble!
Thanks so much! It has ProRes HQ and ZRaw now, but I'm honestly not sure about many technical details of ZRaw... I tried it once and the workflow was soooo incredibly slow compared to ProRes and I didn't see any drastic benefit. It should get ProRes RAW soon, and that may be a better workflow so I'll give it a shot, but the current ProRes options have kept me very happy :)
Hi! I will be trying to get a light review done soon but also am hoping to put together a full on course for it available for purchase (cheaply) ...as soon as I can haha. For me, it's been just as reliable as Canon, plus the company stands behind it more and updates it farrrr more significantly and frequently. They squeeze every last bit of power out of their cameras whereas Canon seems to limit them severely in an effort to make sure nothing ever goes wrong. That does occasionally cause issues like card write speed errors (although I had issues with the C200 too once or twice) but if you use Z Cam's recommended cards or SSDs you should have no problem. If you don't expose correctly high frame rates can also get fairly ugly and people complain but it's because they're really pushing the max of the camera ... exposed right high ISOs and frame rates are still gorgeous though
Thanks for watching :) And yea for sure. I think the COVID situation may have definitely had some impact on production but they also may not have predicted they'd sell so much. I guess that's a good thing, just hope they can catch up to the demand now!
Hey, unfortunately I don't... it was custom made by James Davis but I'm not sure if he's actually making them any more. I use a FXLion plate now myself
With any significant weight on there it would most likely stress the NP-F mount too much since it's not built for that amount of torque. It might be nice for smaller weight/size v-mounts but at that point a lot of the benefit of the v-mount is kind of lost. With this I could use a huge 290Wh battery if I wanted and no worries (although these compact 150Wh batteries are really hitting the sweet spot for me)
They are! I had pre-ordered mine in August, got it around November I think (official launch was October if my memory is correct). They're popping up ready-to-ship on B&H sometimes lately if you keep your eyes out, but I think if you order from them directly it's around a 1 month wait time. You'd be better to ask them for the specifics on that though
Hey great video. I'ld love to use the Nitze adapter with the hedbox V-mount adaptor with 2 pin lemo for my F6. I'm looking on Amazon and there seems to be a few choices. Which on is the correct one that'll work best for the E2 F6? Link? Thanks!
The Nitze plate should be the same: geni.us/nitzevmountplate You might need a customized hedbox adaptor though. James Davis makes a few versions, and you can contact him on Facebook (he's active in the E2 group) or by email here: gcgfilm@gmail.com He should be able to get you set up or let you know where to get the specific hedbox plate you need. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions :)
hey Scott, Thanks so much for this review. I was looking fo a nice v-mount solution and couldn't find any videos on it! Just one question: Whats the loose cable for that you can see in the last part of the final set up ?
+1000hcI thanks for watching! That’s from the Ansso plate, which has (in my case) a female dc cable for using with the power cable included for the BM5, for example. My power cable for the OSEE is d-tap though so I wasn’t using it
I think we checked into it, and it's just the placement of the screw holes/the width of the battery plates from Bebob which wouldn't line up with the Nitze plate unfortunately.
i cant find any same sized v mount plate for that Bebob batterys at online market :( can you recommend something? i mean exactly same sized, every plates are much higher :(
I'm using the Ansso one customized by James Davis (active in the Z Cam Facebook group), it's about the same height. I think he might be working with FxLion to make a better one that would also be compact but have better options for output etc. If you're in the E2 FB group, you should be able to find a bunch of info about the plate development there.
It's the Bebob V Micro (I typically use the 150Wh version) ...Blueshape Granite Mini are also pretty close to fitting but just a little bit larger. A lot of people use the FXLion Nano batteries too but I haven't tried them myself.

@@orangerecords_studio if that's your style that's fine- but I'm also powering external monitors, wireless transmitters etc, and now those can all be powered from one single battery. Then there are factors like money- on the surface no name NP-F batteries are cheaper, but if you get enough to supply power to the camera, the monitor and the wireless transmitter all for the same amount of time as this single v-mount, I'd spend the same amount or more even buying cheap batteries. But- those cheap batteries don't hold full charge after a while of use (true of all batteries, but cheaper ones seem to die faster).
