무려 뵈젠도르퍼 임페리얼로 녹음 되어서 그런지 소리나 음색이 매우 탁월하여서 연주가 아주 즐거운 시간이었던것
같습니다. 물론 별개로 연주가 조금 많이 아쉬운감이 없지않아 있습니다만, 그래도 부족한 연주 들어주셔서 감사합니다.
추신으로, 제 곡을 같이 반주해주시느라 고생하신 송우찬 후배님께 감사인사 드립니다 ㅎㅎㅎ
Greetings, everybody! Paganini Variations, again - on December 30th, 2023, Woochan Song and I performed the two-piano rendition of "Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini" (Op. 43) by Rachmaninoff, at Audioguy, Seoul. Since it was recorded on two Bösendorfer Imperial pianos, the room was full of outstanding sound quality and sound color. There were many mistakes, of course, but, thank you everyone for listening to our humble performance, and I'm so grateful to Woochan for accompanying as a second piano performer!

Probably the most fun Rach concerto to play... great job and special mention to the wonderful second pianist whom I wish I could recruit to replace the accompanists we have over here ahaha, absolutely on point accompaniment with a complicated orchestral reduction :)

@@pianista-mediocre I don't know, I've only played Rach 2 in full! To me it's really fun to listen to, and there's a lot of really interesting pianistic techniques in here that you don't find in the earlier concertos. (This rhapsody came after all 4 concertos) There's also an almost jazz-like groove to it at times that's almost exclusive to this piece, and maybe Rach 4 (11:00). And that 18th variation!

This is really splendid! I have loved the work most of my life, and listening to it in this arrangement with the score to follow along was nothing short of a revelation. Specifically, I largely missed some subtle dissonances between the solo and orchestral parts that here were brought to the fore. But more important, the precision of the ensemble playing here was simply amazing, and quite honestly, I'm at a loss as to which pianist I'd consider the better artist on the basis of this performance. Both of you were first-rate and a joy to listen to. Many thanks for sharing this, and best wishes from Washington DC USA.

뵈젠도르퍼를 많이 들어보지 못해서 스타인웨이에 비해 상당히 중음이란 것만 알고 있었고, 리스트같은 사운드에나 어울릴거라 어렴풋이 생각만 하고 있어서 18변주 음색이 괜찮을까 했는데, 꽤 매력 있네요. 라흐마니노프가 듣기는 좋아도 은근히 화음 떡칠에, 10도 이상 화음에 어려운데다, 더군다나 셋잇단음표와 16분음표가 섞이는 등 투 피아노로 조화롭게 맞추기 상당히 힘들 것 같은데, 두 분 다 고생 많으셨습니다. 라흐마니노프 피협 솔로 혹은 투 피아노도 조심스럽게 권해봅...
암튼 녹음이 깔끔하게 잘 따지긴 했는데, 확실히 다이내믹한 공간 음향감은 실황 연주 따라올 수가 없네요ㅎㅎ 작년은 뭔가 개인사가 많아서 라흐마니노프 탄생 150주년 연주회들이 넘쳐나는데도 거의 못 갔었는데, 연말에 연주회에서 귀 호강 잘 했네요. 기사, 시행착오도 좋았습니다.
드디어 올라왔네요! 다시 그 현장으로 돌아간 것 같아요☺️ 영광이었습니다

18변주가 유명하지만 코다에 나오는 금관의 Dies Irae 또한 인상적인 작품이지요...잘 들었어요!
Wonderful performance as always, and the second pianist is really great. The piece is very intricate, seems like a lot of fun to learn all the playfulness with rhythm. Btw, there seems to be missing sheet music at 21:11 - 21:15
