- Hello, everyone!
This piece is Réminiscences de Don Juan (S. 418) by Franz Liszt - It’s been a while since I played Liszt on this channel - on which I took an academic lesson for exam in the last semester (Fall 2020). This masterpiece is infamous for its technical and musical difficulties, and I had a really hard time learning it. Honestly, I don’t think even this performance is perfect, so I thought I really need to invest a lot of time in order to make it much better.
Crucial Announcement! I’m afraid that, for some time, I might upload less videos than before, because I want to focus more on my college studies in this semester before compulsory military service. Besides, these videos would be comprised of more compositions of mine.

안녕하세요! 오늘은 정말 오랜만에 리스트곡을 가져왔습니다. 이 곡은 저의 작년 2학기 실기곡이였는데, 정말 기교적으로나 음악적으로나 여러모로 모든면에서 힘들었던것 같습니다. 솔직히 지금 이 연주도 걘적으로 상당히 부실한것 같고, 앞으로도 계속 더 나은 연주를 위해 가지고 가야 할것 같습니다.
그리고 하나 중요한 소식이 있습니다. 당분간은 영상업로드가 뜸해질것 같습니다. 이번년도에 군입대를 하는지라 이번 1학기는 제대로 공부하고 가고 싶다는 마음에 조금 더 학업에 몰두하고 싶습니다. 아마 영상업로드를 할땐 자작곡 위주로 올리지 않을까 싶네요:) 아무튼 오늘도 들어주셔서 감사하고 앞으로도 잘 부탁드리며, 지금까지도 계속 들어봐 주신분들께 감사를 표합니다.

Although Reminiscences de Don Juan is known to be difficult I still find Reminiscences de Norma a much more pleasant listen. Amazing job mastering this devil sheet

Personally, I really enjoy his paraphrases on Mozart’s operas, which are this one and his Fantasy Over Themes from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni. They’re all great, though.

Not only can you play this insane piece, but you actually make it look easier than it really is; that's when you know that this is a truly exceptional pianist playing the music. 200% performance, you are a god

This is a very soundly-conceived interpretation of a piece that’s so often reduced to a circus trick. The tempi (and their relationships), sonorities, and rubati all honor the spirit of Mozart. Bravo, and all my best to you!

This piece is awesome! Only the most skilled can play something like this. This alongside Reminiscences de Norma and Große Fantaisie über Spanische Weisen are some of Liszt's most difficult works.
This is one of my favorite recordings of this piece on RUclips! The interpretive and technical skills are both superb! Even though I’m saddened to hear that you will be posting less, I look forward to hearing you play more of your own compositions!

If he wins an international competition he doesnt have to go to military service. Seong Jin Cho escaped the service because he won Hamamatsu in 2011

@@prammar1951 Yes they have to do it. But i dont know for how long. Probably a year.
@@prammar1951 It was 36month but it slowly decreased and became 18month in 2021 for army. If u are handicapped and cant join the army u have to work for social service agent which is 21month. Navy and airforce are different though

So clean and crisp! Love it - way better than a lot of the recordings from professional pianists in my opinion. A lot of people that play this piece play it so messy and muddy. I've learned this, but it's such a long piece that I haven't necessarily had the patience to sit and polish it to be as clean as this. Props!

This compares extremely well to the performance by Okada that is also on RUclips (also with the score) on Kumar’s channel. If you had as good a piano as him I think you might even produce a greater performance. This has got to be damn near the hardest piece in the 19th century repertoire. I certainly think it is the hardest that is really, really worthwhile. It is an emotionally as well as technically brilliant piece, and you did it full justice. Well done!

Oh... My... God! Throughout the whole performance I was like I can't believe my eyes and ears. It was such an exciting performance of such a difficult piece. I wonder how I didn't find it earlier. Anyways, I'm glad to see you play Liszt a bit more, I think it suits you, you can bring out beautiful atmospheres. It's like I see Liszt next to me playing some crazy shit. And omg, your scales... Your scales are really something else, like I can't even believe that they are not speeded up in a software, they are so good, crystal clear, effortless, but I can still hear every note. You really amazed me. I knew you were good, unbelievably good. To be able to witness a performance of this piece from an angle this close... Like I know there is Lang Lang's performance, or Okada's but there is not even footage, so this one just seems more intimate for me. I think this was a valuable 18 minutes of my life and can't wait to replay it many more times. I would like to address you some kind word in Korean as well but it's not my strength so I'm gonna leave out that one. Thanks again, I really appreciate your efforts. I hope you win some grand piano contest in the future.
