I purchased one from him for my deus 2 and not only was it great compared to my other carbon shaft that wasted my money on, but the communication with him and shipping speed was great. That's the design that is needed for a carbon shaft.
I bought a couple of these Michael. I think them a lot. I was told by Detect- Ed that they possibly may make a carbon fiber middle shaft and a longer middle carbon shaft for tall people.
Great tips iffy, I really like the RTV tip. I am happy with my software as is, it's a relic/coin beast, but if its an improvement, I'm there! I just ordered the shaft from Ed, it 67 bucks with shipping, the RTV is 8.49. Thanks iffy !!
@@IffySignals I'm not complaining, just passing info. I got out detecting yesterday a few towns down off the mountain and it was awesome. I still have a foot of snow up here, another big storm Monday night. I knew we would pay for all that good weather in January man. 😄
@@IffySignals Right on Mike, keep after those KG;s. Just a thought, I have never found just one KG at a cellar, somewhere on that home sight are a few more.
I just got the 13x11 set up, you said it was carbon fiber infused? It does feel a bit more rigid than the shaft that came with the 9in, but no visible difference.
@@IffySignals Yes! Its there, out of curiosity I looked on the shaft that came with the 9in coil and it also has CF on it. Is this something they are doing on all shafts or was it recently added to include the smaller coils too? I just got it 2 days ago.
I bought two of these shafts and there is a problem with them. I found that when I fitted them and I was out in the field detecting they always felt loose to the point where when I was setting the detector down to dig the cam lock was coming open and then the shaft and coil were dropping out. I thought it was a problem with the cam lock but no it works properly with the original shaft. So I finally started wondering if the shaft was slightly smaller that the original and checked it with a digital caliper. The original shaft at it's widest point measures 22.57 mm whereas the Detect-ED shaft in the same area measures 22.35 mm. Front to back measurement on the original shaft is 16.46 mm but on the Detect-ED shaft it's 16.07 mm. This has the effect of making the whole set-up feel loose and floppy during use to the point where I have switched back to the original shafts as the Detect-ED shafts just don't feel good at all! The idea is to remove flex in the lower shaft not increase it!
Hey Jedi, i just checked and I don’t see any yet. He does sell on Amazon and Serious Detecting has a bunch of his stuff. Buying from him directly gets here within a few days and is always what i have done.
If he ordered one the other night and it was $58 + $20 shipping it's supposedly on its way I do notice that in the stock shaft they have a better drain hole so sand and water don't collect their inside the shaft so that's my only concern I have not received mine yet so I don't know if I need to do any modification I did buy a simplex lower shaft and cut the original stock shaft off and modified it so it would fit inside the simplex turned out real nice and the drain hole is the same as the stock I think it's longer gaining about 3 to 4 in modification I've used it several times and it's working out pretty nice I'll see what the detective one looks like when I get it
So I'd actually received this shaft today it is a little shorter than the stock one and yet doesn't have that drain on the shaft it has the little hole on the end hopefully it doesn't cause a problem on the beach with sand so I wish it was a little longer but I'll give it a try but the delivery was very good
Thanks for the vid! Looks like quality stuff. Quick question… I need a complete setup to make my WS6 master as a secondary unit. Did you buy all the parts? Where would you recommend I purchase them?
I bought Steves detector rods carbon fiber full shaft so I had that and the WS6 from the full D2 kit, i had to buy the XLs for the main controller and WSAs for the WS6 Master setup.

Agree Dave, he’s a really nice guy. Makes quality stuff

Nice! He did a great job on them.
Looks good I built one from a legend shaft which works great and the added length over a couple inches is real nice can’t wait for the upper shaft!
Yea! Easy workaround 👍
Nice Shafts!!!
Thx Bill

Is the detec Ed shaft same length as the stock Deus ……thanks for sharing
The Detect-Ed is actually about 3/4 of an inch shorter than stock.
I ordered my lower shaft from DE last week.
Nice! Its really nice 👍
Hey Iffy, can you say the silicone you used.
Thanks
Sure Jay, got it from Amazon. Loctite 37460 Black RTV Silicone Adhesive/Sealant Tube - 80 ml
Lighter is better. less stress on the arm. Pretty neat.. Peace
Yea its a really nice quality shaft.
I want a longer complete shaft for my 3 legends... Does detect Ed have anything for that?
He does have a Carbon Fiber shaft for the Legend on his website but i am not sure if its longer than stock.
Thank you for sharing with us.
Thanks Jimmy!

Geez! Did you email Ed? Mine are nice and tight.
@@IffySignals Yep, email sent earlier. I would have expected them to be an exact copy in size to the original, but that wasn't the case.
Does any of Detect-Ed supplies state-side have these in stock or shipping from down under the only option?

Did you know the lower stem for the simplex fits the Deus stem?? Obviously not.
Yes i did, but you need to mod it for it to work, this is much lighter and fits perfectly
Do you know where there's some info regarding this please and also does the Nokta carbon middle stem fit the Deus?
Hi Iffy do the regular wireless headphones not sure if they’re called WS 2 ? Do those work with the Deus 2 ? Thanks
Hey Mark, the new WSA’s and XLs work with the D2. Not any of the D1 headphones

How much longer is the shaft I couldn’t quite see when you had them side-by-side

Where can I get such a barbell?
Detect-ed. i put the link in the description.
In what situations is it worth the cost?
Just a little lighter and no flex. Nothing wrong with the stock setup.
Iffy you have a good XP dealer? I need WS6 shaft mount clip n dealer I've been dealing with has been dragging their feet on getting back to me ?
You try Andy O’Neil? At We Dig? He is on FB as well.
