I just ordered one. I talked to Steve for a good half hour. He’s a hell of a nice guy. I can’t wait to get mine. The improvements he’s made are outstanding. I bought the complete rod assembly and an extra lower rod. It’s going to cost me about $350. It’s expensive but if you want a quality American product than you’re going to have to pay for it.
Nice vid on the shaft. I got to test one for Steve when I lived out in OK. Just a great all around guy. The shaft is exceptional. Got 2 lowers myself. Mine is not so shiny anymore, but that is ok. I use it quite often. I only got a half ounce difference between factory and Steves. Steve was able to put weight rearward thus making it more balanced.
That's so shiny and nice, I would be afraid to get it dirty lol. Looks like a great product from a great guy. I just use the detect ed lower shaft. I sure do like those Steve detector rods though! Great camera work. Thank you for sharing!
Nicely done. He sure does great work. I’ll be curious if you end up needing and using the counterweight with the 11 x 13 coil. When using, it indeed can be a bit nose heavy. Also I’m a bit leary of any round shafts. It seems like they often “twist” and my coil is wonky vs the control unit. Curious if you experience this or if his camlocks are tight enough to prevent. Loved the screw in control mount. Thx for sharing!
I have to play around with the counter weight to see how it feels. I’ll probably address that in an early spring video. I did not notice any twisting on my first hunt a few weeks ago. I did a slight modification since then to keep it from twisting with the addition of the tent pole spring. Thanks for watching my friend.
pretty insane that the original shaft is so much lighter then a full carbon shaft . and by adding a Detect Ed lower carbon stem , you have the same rigidity and even lighter .

That's a beautiful looking shaft thanks for sharing.
Looks like a great new shaft!❤
Steve is also working with RcDigs mounts to develop an Rcdigs mount to work, i have one of the prototypes now testing it. It fits great

You guys should check out . The treasure dog of maine...he pulls insane stuff off colonial beaches
Could just be an eye visual trick, but the grip/handle looks thicker on SDR vs the stock D2. Please advise, thanks.
