I have a question my friend. By using Minoxidil, is it possible for vellus hairs to shed and then turn terminal, if I always shave? I have to because of professional reasons.
The Beard Solution brother I used regain liquid for the first time yesterday but I didn't know I had to use the dropper to seal the product with until 8 hours later. when I found out I went and rinsed the tube with water and screwed it on the product. I'm abit worried that the tube which was exposed to the air with traces of minoxidil on it may have contaminated the liquid? I did rinse it with hot water so it should be alright right?
Mate I am 39 and not really had any growth I have been on using minoxidil for 2 months and am having really good results. I have done a lot of what you have suggested and it seems good. Thanks you for the advice and brake down 👍
Update, this has been two months now and my beard on the left hand side is almost fully covered, the right hand side is still a little patchy. but I can tell you this stuff is working really good. Take my age in consideration, I should have had a normal beard by now. Minoxidil really does work if you are my age and have a patchy beard.

What a great vid. I rarely comment on YTer blogs and vids but this was so informative and engaging. You managed to make a 39 min vid an enjoyable watch. Best regards bro
I've been using Minox for 32 days, morning and night, along with using a .5mm derma roller every 3 days, right before bed. On rolling days, I skip the evening Minox application, so I don't allow too much in my bloodstream. From the beginning it has gone smoothly, I have not had any heart palpations, or experienced the worse of the side effects. The only side effect I am experiencing is the puffy/bloated face. My face looks as though I have put on about 20 pounds, although I have not. I'm not concerned with that though, as it'll go away once I stop, and I do not plan to do it for very long, at least not 18 month like some. I don't know if it's genetics, or because I am older, but after this very short time I am already seeing several hundred pale vellus hairs on my cheeks, which are my problem areas, and everywhere else I have applied it, which is great, even though my beard was already thick enough there. Also, I have every single morning, right before my morning minox application. It's not safe to roll with a .5mm more than every 4 days or so (Ask you own doctor, as I did), so I derma plane (Shave) every morning. I find that shaving makes the foam absorb into my skin faster, without wasting any that clings to, and dries in my beard. I did attempt to keep a short beard the first few days, because I wanted to see if any vellus hair grew, but that is not needed. Vellus hairs can take months to grow. I think I just got lucky, because I'm over 40, and I'm also derma rolling. Also, I can afford a strict application routine, and don't have to wash it off to go to work..cause..well..Pandemic year has it's upside I guess. So I sit here, working from home with the Minox on my face 24/7. Back to shaving every day. If any of you think that shaving is going to prevent vellus hairs from growing, it won't. Everything that matters is going on below the surface, so letting the hair grow will not influence the rate of growth. If you want to see if you are getting results, shave once a day for a month or two, then let it go for a few days, so you can see if there has been any change. But then shave again, because it really is easier to apply Minox to a freshly shaven face. I even find it more difficult to apply my night dose with the hair that has grown during the day. This isn't my channel obviously, and I'm not going to create one, then advertise on Adam's, but if you have questions, reply to this message, I'm happy to answer them based on my experience. Also, when you are measuring your dose. It's not half a cap from bottom to top, it's half a cap from bottom to the little line at the top. My first can last 28 days, because I used a bit too much before I noticed the line, but 28 days isn't bad. I purchased the Regoxidine brand of Minox. But there are many companies that make it, so go with your gut.
Very very well research , very well covered and organised and the layout on how it was covered was spot on, this was described better than any other channel or article 👍🧔
Thanks for this video bro, must've been hard to put this altogether just for our sake. Pretty much answered all my future questions. I just have one more question and I'll shut up, so are electric razors really that useless? You said they pull out the hairs, but don't manual razors do that even more since they cut closer? I believe you and all, as I'm definitely switching to a trimmer or manual razor per your advice. But I was just curious as to why the electric razor is useless since I've heard so many people swear by electric ones over manual ones.
I am excited to try this I am a woman but I have been helping my boyfriend grow his beard out and I have been oiling and massaging the beard twice a day and I’ve seen great improvements, it looks a lot fuller and less sparse but it’s still some patches especially on the side he sleeps so I came across videos of this product so I am excited to give it a try! Thank you!
Phenomenal video. Well delivered and super informative. This has given me the confidence to start my minoxidil journey and fix my patchy beard! I think it will turn out nicely too because I already have a fairly full beard, it just hits a point where it grows longer rather than thicker. The attention to detail was great too. I'm thee kind of person who becomes fascinated by something and I want to know everything about it in a scientific way. Thanks bro!
Hey Adam! I'm well on my way on this journey (4 months), but I keep thinking of one thing. Would you, personally, recommend dermarolling once a week, twice a week, or every 5 days, and why (I keep it at light stubble, and use a 192 needle 0,5mm)? Can't seem to find a good answer to this, and I'm really thinking dermarolling is my go-to option alongside the minox to get that sweet underlip growth:D Also thanks for all your videos, you're inspiring!
Thanks for the Info , very extensive as well ! My friend used it and he did grow it . He also told me is been heard it causes heart attacks! I was wtf and stayed away from it ! But then I found you 👍🏽!
For loosing hair on your scalp how did you combat that? Or did you wait it out and see if your hair grew naturally? And if so how long did it take for it to grow back fully? I just started my minoxidil beard journey 3 days ago! So this video is very useful!
Awesome video! Covered all my possible questions, much appreciated!! I am definitely considering starting using minoxidil. However, I am left with one more question. that kind of feeds some of my anxiety: does using minoxidil 'ruin' other potential hairs that would've grown anyway? Put differently, does using minoxidil change or ruin my beard potential or my future beard that I would've grown without using minoxidil? I am very much eager to use it, however, if it makes me grow an 'artificial beard' I'd rather just wait it out.
@@thebeardsolution Thanks for the swift response! It does seem to me then, on then basis of this video, that, there aren't actually any cons of using minoxidil for beard growth (besides of the side effects), are there? After watching your video, I'd say I want to start using minoxidil. However, a gut feeling tells me there is a catch... Would you say there are any reasons not to use minoxidil, besides any preexisting medical conditions?
I would say there are a few drawbacks besides side effects 1. Time: It takes quite some time to complete the journey... between a year or 2 which is quite a long time considering applying 2x per day 2. Cost... in line with point one obviously having to buy up to 2 years worth of product. Other than that not much comes to mind. Other than people will probably try to discourage you etc.
Hi Adam, I wanted to ask you a question. I apply 5% liquid minoxidil twice a day and I always put on a basic skin cream before going to bed in order to avoid dryness. Do you think that the cream could affect the hair growth?
So far after 3 months of consistent derma rolling and applying minox (with L-carnitine L-tartrate) 2x day every 12hrs , my beard is finally taking shape! Lots of transitional hairs on my front, side and neckline where there were 0 hairs before I started my beard journey. I've started using jamaican black castor oil but I'm not sure if it's doing anything yet. Otherwise so far so good. One thing I've noticed is that my eyebrows are also getting thicker, longer, and I've got a little bit of a unibrow going on too. You'll have to pluck and trim them every few weeks or so. Hair in other parts of your body are growing longer also but not a big deal. Anyway, thanks a lot for your help Adam!
If anyone wants I can try this out for about 6months or so and make an update video to see if this works for someone who's halfasian and is not blessed with any sort if viking genes 🤔
I'm an Indian it does work to an extent. The time you see results will vary as he said in this video. I used it for a year or two. My beard is not full its patchy but has gained more than 65% but the hairs in cheek and moustache are thin the chin area is thick as I already had some before using Minoxidil. I didn't use derma rollers by the way. The good thing its permanent. its been more than 3 years without minox.
Very clear and informative video. Great that you explain the science and studies behind your information as well. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to make this video!
Why wait 4 hours? Can you apply beard oil/a bit of moisturiser soon after? I’ve seen another RUclipsr who used liquid minoxidil for a year, and then IMMEDIATELY applied beard oil and DIDN’T wash it off at all. He now has a dope beard. Can someone clear this up for me and back it up with reasoning? Thanks dudes
Because thats how long it takes for the majority of the minoxidil to be absorbed. Applying beard oil or moisturiser after isnt going to stop dryness... which is the only reason to do it. And it MAY inhibit absorption somewhat
Great video and very informative. I am 37 years old and have a patchy beard. My question is am I too old to start using minoxidil? I am overall pretty healthy
I've never experienced any of the side effects of minoxidil ever. I use liquid. Other than growing a beard. Nvm. I don't have unwanted hair growth, but I did get hairier.
Fantastic! Started my Journey this week. Started with 1ml on my (beard), but experienced Headaches(Mild) which is not normal to me, and got very nauseous which is also not normal. I then decided to drop the Doze and I think my body is Adjusting to it now. Monday will mark a week of using Liquid Minoxidil. I will continue with current the dosage for another week, and then increase. Very informative video, love your energy! Keep it up! All the way from South Africa, peace out ✌️
@@aswinpreman907 no, no hair loss. Though my hairline is receding, but since using Minoxidil on my beard, my hair on my scalp does seem to look thicker, though I'm not using it on my scalp yet, will start soon. As for beard growth, it's working my beard is starting to connect, where I had patches are starting to fill now, so will definitely be continuing the use until it's full!
Amazing and informative video that introduced me to Minoxidil. I have beard, but mostly thin and the hair appearance is more on the neck area than on the cheeks. I bought a Regaine 5% strength spray, and I haven’t started with it until I get the idea of how to use it correctly. It says on the box that I should use it once a day, and the question is: if I want to apply minoxidil to the cheeks area, should I apply 1/2 ml to each cheek area, or 1ml each? If half, then I apply 3 sprays on each cheek, right? Thanks in advance.
Once I get my doctor's approval i'll be starting. I already have tachycardia issues from poor circulation so I've been hesitant for over a year to try it but i'm tired of waiting for my genetics to kick in. I'm 24 with a shitty goatee and that's IT.
Hey, Thanks for providing clear insight. I have a question, How long does palpitations and tiredness stay after starting minoxidil usage ? Is it only during initial period ?
great video. just want to say i've been taking finesteride for about 5 years now to halt baldness on my crown, and thus far it hasn't noticeably affected my beard growth. if it had i probably would have quit the finesteride and risked going bald in order to keep my beard.
Great informative video Adam good job you seem to know your stuff 👍🏽 got a quick question for you. What happens to the immune system in our bodies like blood pressure , heart , etc after finishing the journey on minox ? Does it affect in the long term ? Sorry two questions thanks in advanced .
You have answered all my questions.. Going to Walmart to get the foam and start my journey.. As u can see I have a goatee.. Need it fo r the sides.. Ty for the informative vid.. Cheers
Very informative vid like usual. I dont know if im the only one who experienced this but I used kirkland liquid for the first 4 months and had amazing progression. By the end of the 4 months I literally had full coverage on the cheeks from nothing and a nice goatee. Then I switched to the rogaine foam....oh man was that a mistake. For the past 2 months ive been on it my progression literally stopped. Right now my cheeks look pretty damn light compared to before so I switched back to the liquid 2 days ago hoping ill get back to the progression I was seeing before. I thought this was something you would like to know being a big minox youtuber. I truly believe the liquid is much better than the foam especially after what I experienced.
+Deathbox well its also quite likely that you hit a slow period. We all get them and shedding which can make our gains look weaker some months. There really is no difference from my experience and there are plenty of people with great gains on the foam. Its far more likely you were just experiencing shedding (which is almost always a good thing) good to hear you are getting results tho bro
I did think of what you said about shedding while not having any new progression on other hairs but i guess i just let the fact that my beard was getting weak get to my head. I guess ill just have to wait it out and see what happens this next month. Thanks for the reply bro I feel a bit more relieved now. Beard on brother!
Hey dude....I just wanted to hit on something that I haven't heard mentioned before. I used minoxidil for a year and one of my dogs kept getting really bad eyes... I didn't relate it to the minoxidil. A year later I started up again twice a day and my new dog started to get the same problem. Licking the face ext. So now I only apply at night as my beard growth was pretty decent on the first year... Perhaps something you could look Into. His eyes are fine since stopping application in the morning
I've searched for answers about Minoxidil and could never find what I was looking for. This video answered all my questions, and put me much more at ease when it came to this new "Beard Journey". Thank you!
Thanks a lot for this video , I have one question I have heard that when applying the foam it is better to have plastic gloves on your hand so tha minoxidil doesn’t get absorbed in hands or the foam dissolve due to heat caused buy hand. What do you say about that Thanks again for the video
Another good video man. Question - if minoxidil doesnt guarantee to turn hairs terminal, isnt there no guarantee the hairs wont fall out? Thanks and keep it up
+Jonbombs hey man. Well yes. If the hair doesnt turn terminal it will fall out so if you are unable to obtain terminal hairs you will likely have to maintain using minox. I suspect that most men unless you have zero sensitivity to DHT will eventually see terminal hairs. Minoxidil is said to cause angiogenisis from what i have read which would lead to new blood vessels structures and over time a stronger hair and more androgens bought to the androgen receptors
Awesome - thanks Adam. Keeping on keeping on and hoping for terminals soon (9 months in and if i wet shave its really clear next to no terminals have come in just loads of transitionals which grow in slower)
Yeah man i feel your pain. I am a year in and ive maybe had a hanful of new terminals. Some transitionals look really close tho so praying they shed soon. Ive recently been experiencing shedding so ive got my fingers crossed lol

This one video answered every question I had, thank you so much man!
+Sbenboss Rotmg no problem buddy! Glad it helped!
The best monoxidil guide.
Yeah man look up the difference between a manual shaver and electric shaver under electron microscope. The difference is pretty staggering
Word, thanks bro. Just saw it, never again. lol
I really appreciate this video and how well you structured it. No wasting my time! Thank you for that.
You Sir! Are awesome!!! The best informative video about minox.
Harpalsinh Chudasama are you from India ?
So informative like always. Lucky to have someone like this putting this knowledge out there for the community.
+Jay Sens thanks brother! Appreciate the support
Lovely content! Keep it up!
+MisterBassBoost thanks bro
Truly one of the most well detailed examples of how to go about minxodil. Thank you for this!
I kept thinking someone would storm in through that door at any given moment
Thanks bro!
And how are the results :D ?
Thanks for the complete explanation. Best video on minoxidil I've seen so far and more than enough to start.
Hey Adam! I'm well on my way on this journey (4 months), but I keep thinking of one thing. Would you, personally, recommend dermarolling once a week, twice a week, or every 5 days, and why (I keep it at light stubble, and use a 192 needle 0,5mm)? Can't seem to find a good answer to this, and I'm really thinking dermarolling is my go-to option alongside the minox to get that sweet underlip growth:D
Also thanks for all your videos, you're inspiring!
Hey man. Personally I would say 1x per week is sufficient.
@@thebeardsolution I'll roll with that then, thank you so much :D
How's the progress mate? Any updates:)
Everything I've heard from professional dermatologists is that they believe derma-rolling is snake oil. It doesn't work.
Well there are studies that disagree with them. Its not sufficient to just appeal to authority without evidence
The shedding? Yeah its just a waiting game it will pass. Its barely going to be noticable to others anyway. Best of luck on your journey
Fantastic vidoe. Honest concise and to the point. Brilliant info of all you need to know about beard growth A-Z!!👍
+Mohammad Amine Oujamaa thanks for the support brother! Beard on man!
Nah. It doesn't affect your natural progression other than potentially speeding it up beard wise
I would say there are a few drawbacks besides side effects
1. Time: It takes quite some time to complete the journey... between a year or 2 which is quite a long time considering applying 2x per day
2. Cost... in line with point one obviously having to buy up to 2 years worth of product.
Other than that not much comes to mind. Other than people will probably try to discourage you etc.
Great stuff dude keep up the good work😎🤗
Hi Adam, I wanted to ask you a question. I apply 5% liquid minoxidil twice a day and I always put on a basic skin cream before going to bed in order to avoid dryness. Do you think that the cream could affect the hair growth?
Switch to foam if it worries you. As long as you wash your face well enough before applying minoxidil, couldn't see how it would hurt.
@@MrDarthbader I already bought 6 liquid minoxidil bottles😅
Great video, best one I’ve seen on this learnt a lot! thanks :)
Hey! can you use minoxidil for beard growth if you already use it on ur scalp?? Wouldn’t that be too much minoxidil in your system? Please advise!!
I'd like to know that also.
Hi Adam.
126 dislikes???Did I see the same video? I think this was the best explained Minoxidil Video on RUclips.
Thanks
Did your scalp start to shed and was it very noticeable?
How often do you derma roll
@@Domthedon33look it up
Great video so far Adam, ten minutes in I'm going to watch it in stages, but terrific so far cheers.
Excellent, excellent, excellent video wow! Really good work, thank you .
Please do so I would enjoy seeing the video.hope it not to late to ask.lol
Did you do it?
@@HR-eb4vs did you loose some in this 3 years not using the product ?
@@samuelesquivel6202 no it's the same when I was using it.
Very clear and informative video. Great that you explain the science and studies behind your information as well. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to make this video!
+yunashiina +yunashiina no problem bro you are welcome!
Hi, is it works for eyebrow grow?
townnet very much so even if you apply only on beard location
Dope video champ, very informative and clear
Why wait 4 hours? Can you apply beard oil/a bit of moisturiser soon after? I’ve seen another RUclipsr who used liquid minoxidil for a year, and then IMMEDIATELY applied beard oil and DIDN’T wash it off at all. He now has a dope beard. Can someone clear this up for me and back it up with reasoning? Thanks dudes
Because thats how long it takes for the majority of the minoxidil to be absorbed. Applying beard oil or moisturiser after isnt going to stop dryness... which is the only reason to do it. And it MAY inhibit absorption somewhat
thanks for the quick reply even on an old video, appreciate it bud@@thebeardsolution
Excellent! Can't wait to start my beard journey after 52 years. 😎
I used this and ended up growing hair on my fingertips..hahahaha just kidding. Great video thanks for posting.
Great video and very informative. I am 37 years old and have a patchy beard. My question is am I too old to start using minoxidil? I am overall pretty healthy
Not at all. John one of our Admins at The Minox Beard Spot started in his 50s and saw great results
I've never experienced any of the side effects of minoxidil ever. I use liquid. Other than growing a beard.
Nvm. I don't have unwanted hair growth, but I did get hairier.
Joose Skeptik did it fill in your patches tho?
A great update, well put together and informative. Cheers!!
+JGR thanks man!
Awesome video mate, exactly what I was looking for
Keep it up!
All the way from South Africa, peace out ✌️
Bro did u experience any hair loss?
Man you are the best!! Thank you for this wonderful explanation and the work you have put into it!
Best Video out there. No nonsense Period
I actually watched the whole video. Very informative 👍🏾
Once I get my doctor's approval i'll be starting. I already have tachycardia issues from poor circulation so I've been hesitant for over a year to try it but i'm tired of waiting for my genetics to kick in. I'm 24 with a shitty goatee and that's IT.
Thank you for this video! Very informative and well presented.
Incredible video. Very informative. And a big plus one for eyez in the intro
You got a beard now?
Very informative video, professionally done. love this vid bruh.
+Tysun Yihan thanks brother! Appreciate the kind words!
Great video, and excellent detail. Kudos!!😎
Yo dude this video is very helpful so I really appreciate you took the time to teach us.
Thank you so much for this all inclusive guide. so much value added and info learned!
+Alexander Brown appreciate the support! Glad the video helped!!
Hey, Thanks for providing clear insight. I have a question,
How long does palpitations and tiredness stay after starting minoxidil usage ? Is it only during initial period ?
great video. just want to say i've been taking finesteride for about 5 years now to halt baldness on my crown, and thus far it hasn't noticeably affected my beard growth. if it had i probably would have quit the finesteride and risked going bald in order to keep my beard.
Good to know man👍. That should put others at ease who are using Finastride and Minox. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment
Great informative video Adam good job you seem to know your stuff 👍🏽 got a quick question for you. What happens to the immune system in our bodies like blood pressure , heart , etc after finishing the journey on minox ? Does it affect in the long term ? Sorry two questions thanks in advanced .
+L'Fox hey man shouldnt be any long term repercussions
You have answered all my questions.. Going to Walmart to get the foam and start my journey.. As u can see I have a goatee.. Need it fo r the sides.. Ty for the informative vid.. Cheers
How are the results
Sway tha Gawd How did it go man? I’m thinking of starting
Excellent. A very well compiled video!
Is the information in this video still fully up to date? or has anything changed or been discovered since then?
It makes sense as i noticed quite number of bald men have thicker facial hair.
Just bought mine minoxidil today, thanks for the tips
Hey dude....I just wanted to hit on something that I haven't heard mentioned before. I used minoxidil for a year and one of my dogs kept getting really bad eyes... I didn't relate it to the minoxidil.
A year later I started up again twice a day and my new dog started to get the same problem. Licking the face ext. So now I only apply at night as my beard growth was pretty decent on the first year... Perhaps something you could look Into. His eyes are fine since stopping application in the morning
Awsome video mate! btw.. Do you consume biotin together during minox phase?
+Hafiz Idayanti thanks man. Nah i dont personally use biotin. Unless you are deficient its kind of pointless. And most people aren't
What do you say about that
Thanks again for the video
Very educational. Great! I think that you covered the Minoxidil world. Thank you.
+Juan Cuauhnáhuac no problem buddy
