It's a very beautiful watch, I was really impressed with my Hamilton that I have and that was just an entry level quartz. Definitely a great value watchmaker with tonnes of history and legacy
Looks really cool and the dimensions are awesome. I also like the spring bars hidden in the wire lugs. My Panerai Radomir I use to own had to have the wire lugs removed with a screw driver. This is much easier.
Conflgrats! Can't go wrong with a Hammy. I have several I picked up over the years. Hamilton is known for very stiff straps that don't wear well. Replace the strap with a Colareb and your good to go. I don't get it..everyone says the same thing about the straps, but they have been that way for over 25 years since I bought my first Hammy. It must be a conscious brand decision. "Let's do a great job on everything but the strap." They do a great job of design and aside from the strap, their fit and finish are always excellent. They use eta movements, so they are mechanically sound. The watch is always at least an 8 of 10. The strap is a 3 of 10.

If the accuracy is within an acceptable range, I say, Keep the watch. After all, it is nice looking; Sears well; and, it is the only Hamilton in your collection. Keep it until a better Hamilton comes along. By the way, my first watch was a Hamilton that I received as a birthday present in the early 1950s.
Hamilton makes a lot of different styles of watches, and this certainly different. It’s not my cup of tea, but I was surprised by how thin it is. If that’s a style that you are into, the I have no doubt it will be an excellent watch that you’ll love to wear. Good work on trying something different!
