Great video! I have been trying to solve my "clunk" issue for like 2 years and yes I was bleeding the cartridge correctly. Thanks to this video I made some new teflon sealing bands for the two valves and the clunk is gone!! Paul and The Hell Team are so knowledgeable it's amazing. I can't thank him enough for all the help and assistance he has provided. Great company.
@hellteam thank you very much for this excellent tutorial. I have found the same issue with a broken wave shim washer but was a little confused on how to repair it...
Unfortunately there is no "kits" sold, everything was individual parts. There is a parts breakdown PDF on our site with the part numbers of each individual part. But a lot of them are now obsolete, or not available. We source O Rings from Hydraulic Seals, we cut our own teflon band seals, and tweak our own "bent shim washers" as none of those parts can be purchased any more. You really have to be resourceful when working on these things now. There was a few different forks in that video - a set from 2008 and 2012 from memory.
You can just drain the oil either by tipping it out, or undo the bottom bolt and drain from the bottom of the lower leg, just don’t stroke the inner rod whist there is no oil in the lower leg. It obviously only partially changes the oil as you are only changing what is outside the cartridge.
I’ve had the new seals sitting on the bench waiting for a good video - and this is it! Seals and oil changed with no probs. Thanks Paul.

So the wave shim allows the oil push back through the shim pack as the pressure increases??
Thanks. Is there a rebuild kit or do we order individual parts. What year are those forks in the vid.A

@@TheHellTeamTrials Thanks for the explanation I will check out your site
Is it an all or nothing deal, do I need to do a complete rebuild if I just want to change the oil?
