- This video is for all my people with less than desirable living spaces...its time to take matters into our own hands! Lets get our DIY on! WE GOT THIS!!

It looks great but those cabinets are not even “ish” they are 100% NOT renter friendly. If you’re willing to buy your landlord new cabinet doors when you leave you should consider buying YOURSELF new doors and just unscrewing the landlord’s doors and saving them in a closet. But those back up when you leave then either take your doors to new place or sell them. That way YOU benefit from the new doors not your landlord after you’re gone.
You took that kitchen from looking abandoned to looking like an episode of HGTV episode! I need more pleaseeeeee!
you did soooo good, I never grew up in the projects, but I grew up in a one room shotgun house, poor doesn't mean you can't make the best of what you have. thank you for your channel. yes we all can make our spaces beautiful.

Enjoyed watching your video. DIY tip, make a template with a piece of painter's tape when adding pulls, hanging pics or anything that requires drilling holes. That makes things a lot easier. Great Job! New Subby!

Your cabinets and countertop look almost exactly like my old ones! I was shocked. My cabinets are walnut per the tags I found still stapled on them and I had laminate butcher block counter tops. Ugh. I’m glad I finally redid mine but now I’m thinking I want to either stain or paint the interior of my cabinets to match the color of my new cabinets doors.

Good job for a first timer. Always start from the top and always paint cabinets and handles are the last step. 😊
Be careful removing old paint because there could be lead so ALWAYS wear a mask and gloves.
Using contact paper is so fun. But know that when you buy it, it comes in various sizes. Done larger and wider than others. The correct size helps your project go so much quicker and easier. Take your time. Be proud and always learn as you go. Its not always going to be perfect and someone is not always going to like your style. But it's your space and it's long as you love it that's all that matters❤

1)Where did you find the wood at to put on the front of cabinets?
2)What color paint did you use ?
3) Where did you get your pulling drawer knobs ?? Especially the large one on the sink?

The wood pieces are from Lowe’s. Paint is just regular white, it comes in a cabinet paint kit from Amazon. All the knobs are also from Amazon. For the large one search for a towel bar. 😊

You did a really good job. Considering all the developments that I visited across the five boroughs and all the apartments that I've seen (a whole lot), as an advocate for all nycha residents I must say that I'm really impressed with the transformation. When I saw your thumbnail I knew instantaneously that your apartment was a nycha apartment. The only concern that I may have is the changing out of the sink, if the hookup is not done properly it will cause your neighbor that lives below you to experience some leaking/water damage issues coming from your apartment. I'm also curious as to what you've done with the original sink? did nycha maintenance take it? which day will if you ask them. Nevertheless good job. Tfs.
