  • The torque limiting screwdriver is a wonderful tool to take low torque fasteners to the proper seating. This rebranded Vortex (with full Vortex warranty) is a winner and just what I needed for all my 10-50 inch pound needs.

I got a Firstinfo one. Looks and works exactly like the Vortex (I presume the Vortex is just branded but the same model) but it costs less and comes with the T-handle

I love mine! I don't install any screws on my firearms without using this tool now. I paid $68 for mine off of ebay.

Been considering the Capri but this one looks very similar like the Handle is the same I think this might be a better option since it’s a lot cheaper.

So you have a ratchet on the table buy you used a torque wrench to loosen the bolt?

Just got mine and used it today seems like it's quality and good to go...

I've used it a ton since getting it. So far, it's wonderful. I ordered some bit sets (hex., torx) that I will dedicate to this tool. Only issue now is all my friends want to borrow it.

      @@lastbesttool oh nice.
I like it that it has 1 inch pound increments as it seemed like I had to use more force with the Vortex vs the Fat wrench that has a line with inch pound scale so you hope you have it were it is suppose to be.
I got me some Harbor freight Pittsburg torx bits that seem to be not cheap quality like some of there other sets and have a quality kobalt set coming that is suppose to be quality unlike some of there other sets all with a lifetime warranty

Does it get stiffer to adjust/turn as you go up in torque setting?

Wheeler’s is around $50. It gives in the same manner when the torque value is reached. They have an electronic one also that retails around $149.

Thanks for the review. Amazon still sells the Vortex torque screwdrivere for $89-ish. BTW, do you use any purple thread loctite on your tiny screws (on your picatinny rail lockdown screws)? I just got a rail for my Henry and it recommended using purple loctite. I did not apply to my scope rings since my rifle is a small 22 mag caliber. Have a fine weekend. 👍🏽🤠 2/4/23

I don't use any color locktite with my pic rail components. I have used it to hold a rail on Ruger MK3 and MK4 target pistols. I'm usually too restless to leave anything well enough alone to locktite it.

Were your break calipers torqued in ft/lbs or in/lbs ?
    Thanks for the review

Imperial and imperial / Schrade never imported knives from Japan.
They were always made in Prov.RI until the factory closed in '88 and production was moved to Ireland ( I think made by Jowika at that point)
And now they're just a name owned by a company who sources them from China.

Never use a torque wrench to loosen fasteners. Same reason you don't use an impact gun to tighten fastens. They are one way tools.

Not true at all. As long as you do not exceed the torque rating you are fine.

I saw several different brands selling this same torque driver. I went with the Vortex hoping it would have the same warranty as their optics. And it does. The prices were all within about $10 of each other.

I just started researching these as and came across the Capri first. Capri has a nicer box but they look like the same tool. Although as of today the Capri was going for $128. Have to see what the vortex is going for.

It’s a POS. Won’t hold bits and does not click when torque is reached. Totally useless,
