So cool to hear him play up close and unpolished. His fingerstyle work is particularly compelling. I love guitarists who can get so much out of the guitar without a pick.
Just found and thrilled! This is amazing and much appreciated. A guitar hero of mine! One of the tastiest guitarists ever! Respect for the blues masters and rocks with the best!
Mick Taylor's early years with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers showed just how talented the young Brit was. His work with the Stones speaks for itself. It's sad what happened to him after he left the Stones. In a word - alcohol.
Thanks for uploading this one! I saw Mick T in Maine, about 2002. I'd guess the "buddy" is a gal MT spent the night with after a gig in CO. Judging from some cues in the video.
The Stones were never the same after he left , he made that clear on his last album . Saw them live three times and never they played Time Waits For no one . Keith and Ron just can't play that lead guitar near him , also ever bought otjer album
A few years I posted this on my YT page, Mick Taylor band performing "Time Waits For No One" in 1986 I wanna say ruclips.net/video/jFv2EjdmQ7I/видео.html
Former Rolling Stone " Mick Taylor " plays better just siting around than most others ( Keith ) play at there best . Hail ,hail , Mick Taylor ! Tom Daytona Beach , FL . 28, Dec. 2022 .
He left the Stones in 1974 hoping to make a solo career but this didn’t happen. Being a songwriter is not the same thing as being a wonderful guitar player

@@dougfarrell9268 i think what happened was early on the stones got ripped of by their manager like all the other bands so they ripped off taylor... why on earth would they give little mick taylor a Lions Share
I was at his show down in Englewood, he was great. He copped the Exile on Mainstreet sound perfect that night. The place was jumping. All of maybe at most 200 people. I will never forgive Denver metro for not knowing about his show and beating the doors flat.
I always get so surprised when…….it doesn’t sound like on records…….stage but then you have to leave it and sit back and listen……. And then you can hear the lick’s pick’s and riff’s…….. and understand that without bass or some comp sounds and singing……….then one needs James Taylor or you know the other few exceptional players…….from one who been sitting in……..€:-)

Fell into a black hole after he made one of his baddest decisions ever. From the Stones' whirlwind into domesticity , something even Charlie never considered even while he was bored out of his skull most of the time , he got payed ten times as much as Taylor which made it all tolerable.
Such a talent wasted. Wonderful guitar player. During this time, he’s at someone’s house in Colorado noodling and the Stones were touring the world on Voodoo Lounge Tour making millions. He would send messages to them, asking for financial assistance.
It was sad when Brian died, even sadder when Taylor left but neither compare with the disaster of Keith hiring a session muso to turn the Stones into a covers band. Ronnie Wood is an abomination; a competent versatile muso but not in the least creative an awful artist and creepy stage presence. Presumably signed because he wouldn't upstage Keef and would put on weight and ruin the " look"
Mick is one of my all time favorite guitarists. His sense of melody, style and technique is captivating! Love this!
True
So cool to hear him play up close and unpolished. His fingerstyle work is particularly compelling. I love guitarists who can get so much out of the guitar without a pick.
This is fantastic!! So cool to see Mick T in such an intimate setting.
i love Mick T

First time I see and hear Mick Taylor play ing acoustic like this, he is a master, so, so, good!!!
This is like an historical document and should be preserved as such, imho. If only to watch his wrist, fingers
Indeed!
What a treat to experience a glimpse into the process of this shy and humble master. Self deprecating yet self amused, he continues to play
Exceptional guitarist. I love his bluesy-rock sound.
Thank you for this! Mick is one of my all time favorite guitarists. The Stones lost out when he left.
I would say they did well and still selling of stadiums too.
They both lost out
Lasciato the Rolling Stones,ha combinato poi poco, bisogna anche un po' creare
me too.
Well thanks Ed, ran across this a couple day’s before Christmas 2022🎄🎅 and such a nice treat it is.
This has to be one of the greatest things I have ever watched!! Thanks for posting!
Best guitarist stones ever had !
Yup!
Agreed..
Hands Down, the greatest guitar player The Stones ever had!!!

Mick taylor awesome.🎸🎸👌👌

I saw him perform in 1969 and 72 with his backup band, the Rolling somethings😂
Fabulous.
What a gem.
Man He'd be dead if He'd stayed in the Band. ✌🏼and 🎸 Awesome video🙏🏼
I've never seen the full clip thanks for uploading
Thanks, I decided... why not!?
Tape over the baby video to get vidi of Mick Taylor. That's badass!

Mick Taylor making a borrowed acoustic sing like a bird and he says he’s playing terrible!😂
Yep, and repeatedly requesting whoever was videotaping that it be shut it off. Mick being very humble.
yes a little out of tune and maybe a bit sloppy but such a gem. Anything from this guy is worth listening too. love the relaxed setting
Magnifique !!!
Stick around for ‘Hey Joe’ at 13:30 !!!
many years ago I posted JUST that portion, decided to 'liberate' the whole video for posterity sake

What was his 'last album' ?!
One of my favourite guitarists. Gave the Stones class. Woody ensured the Stones stayed together. But, at what cost?
i know Mick doesn't remember but i saw him in 1987 at the club tip toe in bridgeport ct ... he was completely smashed but it was still so cool !!!!
he was fighting his heroin addtion, he got clean a year later

How Tall Was he Back in the Day.?
They Video taped over his son being born with this impromptu Guitar Playing...lol
Wish he’d played more acoustic guitar on Stones songs
Did no one mention the baby?
Ditto I was checking all the comments to see if anyone missed the 'elephant in the room'...
It's the "YOU RECORDED OVER THE BIRTH OF OUR KID FOR WHO!!!??!" lol

Best guitarist the Stones ever had, but IMO they’re a better band with Wood.
best guitarist was keith because he wrote the songs music with his guitar
Mick is highly understood.... If this is
sounds like a dobro, bro!
Mick, Ronnie & Keith, all have very authentic sounding Slide.
About halfway through his Fat stage here, looking like Gary Moore.
Or Steve Irwin

ok with the blues lol but ...go ahead !
Quite sad that post Stones he did so little for the bulk of the next 50 years 😕

Check out his net worth and he doesn't even have a million. He should have gotten more
Ridiculous how do you know he was asking them for money?
Not sure about the asking for money part but yes I was thinking the same about how so very different their fortunes were by 1994...
He was never asking for money
He wouldn’t have been stupid enough to ask Mick or any of the others for money Mick was as tight as a drum 🥁 and everyone knows it 😂
Stoned
He was as amazing with the Stones as we all know....but this is suprisingly dull.
That was pretty average
