The Mick Taylor years are by far the Stones’ greatest! His guitar playing set them off in an entirely new direction.

@@waynefay8210I loved the Mick Taylor & Jimmy Miller (producer) years. They made such a great & wonderful contribution to the Stones music & mythology. Best times for me. But, 2023, just released a new album & millions of fans worldwide are seeking it out.

@@waynefay8210Of course they were great after Mick Taylor left and they still are. I could definitely name 10 songs but you’ll dismiss them anyway.
They definitely did more after MT left than he did. And he isn’t even on Rambler anyway - Beggars Banquet and Let it Bleed are almost only Keith, and they put out their weakest album with MT at the end of his stint so they had had their peak run of albums even before he left.

    Clapton shmapton!!!
Mick Taylors work with John mayalls blues breakers was beyond compare!
He was just a kid man! With the emotion of a seasoned blues player!
I was seriously taken aback with Micks piano playing in this documentary!
Like contemporary classical blues type stuff! Really hauntingly beautiful blues!
Mick is One hell of an underrated musician!
Considering his short time with the stones, it was some of the best music the stones did in my mind.

Here we go again, someone thinks it's cool to say.....so and so ( insert name of extremely famous and talented musician, in this case Mick Taylor) is underrated. NOBODY'S ever called Mick Taylor underrated ,just go to any stones song and read the comments, all they say is how Mick's the greatest, stones weren't the same without him. He's got millions of fans, saying someone is overrated has got to be the most overused saying ever.

“ Exile on Main Street” elevated the Stones Musicianship into Heaven!
Mick played on my favorite Mayall Lp “ Bare Wires”. Today in his 70’s Mick plays even better! He’s a modest man and deserves all the accolades of one of the Very Best!

Bought Mick’s first solo record when it came out. It was good but I wanted more of what was shown on this vid. He has continued to mature as a vocalist for sure. His talent is undeniable. Wish the Stones had given him song writing credits, as the Doors did as a band. He surely deserved them. Love that he stayed true to his musical path. I’m still trying to cop his riffs but unfortunately, I’m not very talented. Man, the players who went through Mayall’s band were the best of the best. Great doc. His tone just makes me happy. He loves what he does! God bless you Mick and thanks for the music. 😊

The only Stones albums I have all have Mick Taylor on them...He WAS the reason I listened to them. His solos were real jazzy & always the most imaginative, far more so than actually required. I think he was over qualified for the band, same with Charlie Watts. Ron Wood dumbed them down again..LOL ..but I do love Ron's personality & paintings.

Truth be told, MT joined The Rolling Stones at the perfect moment, which is when they stopped being The Beatles wannabes and became something entirely different, a blues touring band with a frontman and a lead guitarist capable of playing extended solos. In a sense they finally became what they always professed to be, a blues band playing great original tunes. MT was the missing element.
