Deontay Wilder spoke to media ahead of his clash with Zhilei Zhang on the Matchroom vs. Queensberry undercard. Deontay talks on working with Eddie Hearn, stating it's strictly business. I've enjoyed Wilder's fights over the years. I do feel this will be his last fight, unfortunately. I wish him well with the acting. He would make a good Bond henchman.

Yeah I kinda feel the same, Wilder looks too content these days, there is no chip on his shoulder, also he hasn't rebuilt his ego and confidence back which takes time via warm up fights. This is a dangerous fight for Wilder, could end badly for him.
Deontay was drugged, fury loaded gloves and Anthony avoided him . Parker fough 4 times in one year and deontay once in 2 years and Dr Usman Shahzad fury's personal steroid doctor was in parkers performance enhancement corner. Both Parker and Zhang are gentlemen boxers of the highest order. There's no shame in being beaten by them, especially under those circumstances.
I know guys in the military who have bodies on their record. It haunts then. They don't boast about it. It has got under their skin and lives inside them. Wilder has no idea of what a body on his record would do to his soul. He's immature and stupid.

It was after that third Fury fight. That's where he said himself he just wasn't the best. As cringe as the excuses after the second fight were, it at least showed that he was still venomous, still hungry. He couldn't accept not being the best. That's a championship mentality. All champions are somewhat delusional. They have to be. They genuinely do not see themselves losing. After that third fight, he lost it. He hasn't lost his physical ability (evident from that Helenius KO), but he was already moving backwards in that fight. Wilder never does that shit unless forced to.

As a combat veteran (Iraq & Afghanistan) who has killed numerous people and have seen even more people die in different ways, I can guarantee that he really doesn't want to kill anyone. He thinks he does, but he'll quickly realize he doesn't if it were to ever happen. Unless they didn't see it coming, most people you kill will die with a frightened look on their faces. In close quarter combat, the images of that are seared into your brain forever, which means many sleepless nights and frequent nightmares that are really just you reliving what you've experienced in your dreams. There's much more to it, but if he really wants even a little bit of that, go for it!

money talks - Wilder is just here for the payday, you can see that he no longer has the killer instinct. Having said that its a great fight, both have big punches and both have massive weaknesses which are strengths for the other fighter i.e. Zhangs conditioning is very suspect and Wilder has very limited boxing skills.

Can't see any way he beats Zhang. Eddie will do his best and give it the big speech, talking about his knockout power etc, but let's be real, Parker didn't just beat Wilder in his last fight, he absolutely schooled him and won every single round. Parker struggled big time against Zhang and got dropped a couple of times, in a fight that could of gone either way.

It should haunt them, boxing isn't bullying because both fighter agree to the rules. Deontay Wilder was cheated. Military bombs indiscriminately and there no honor in shooting a man when he isn't armed.
I know Wilder fans are as detached from reality as he is...but here is something to consider. In the last 30 months Wilder has fought twice. He's shown pretty much nothing in those fights. He's being trained by a man who he himself knocked out and has led him to 3 losses and 1 win.
Zhang over the last 30 months has fought 6 times. Those fights include Hrgovic, Parker and Joyce. He's won 4 of those fights, all by knockout. He knocked Parker down twice in his last fight even though he lost. He knocked Hrgovic down even though he lost that also. He's never been stopped, whereas Wilder's been brutally KO'd twice.
