Never forget the greatness of lead guitarist Mark Tremonti!!!! He is an absolute legend and shows more of his talent with the band after Creed, Alterbridge!!!!!

I wouldn't say Creed as a band became brunt of everyones jokes, it was the lead singer. He had some dark times and did/said some very off the wall, crazy stuff. He had issues with a long running, misdiagnosed bipolar disorder and was eventually admitted to a psychiatric facility that got him straightened out. He is better now.

I'm a shameless fan of this band. No troubles saying it either. Tremonti on guitar is always a huge pro.. Stapp on vocals... unique. Whatever.... damn good band. "Are you ready" is another strong song, like this one. They put out a killer cover of Alice Cooper's "I'm eighteen" as well.

Don't be, people who hate Creed don't even know that a song like Bullets exists, one of the best alternative metal/hard rock songs of the 2000s.

This was used in the 2000 movie Scream 3. Creed helped produce the soundtrack is the only tie in I know of. In this song, Scott Stapp sings about those who oppress the band with their words and hatred. He seems to be referring to the media and critics who lashed out at Creed, and asks what they would do if faced with a similar situation.
Other Creed dongs I'd recommend - One Last Breathe, My Sacrifice, With Arms Wide Open, Wash Away Those Years, Higher, What's This Life For, Don't Stop Dancing, One, Beautiful, Stand Here With Me

OMG They look so YOUNG! I’ve seen Creed three times and Alter Bridge (members of Creed with a different singer) 7 times. But Alter Bridge doesn’t do any Creed songs. But still, having Mark Tremonti on guitar, Brian Marshall on bass, and Scott “Flip” Phillips on drums in AB, combined with the AMAZING vocal range of Myles Kennedy (who also plays KILLER guitar), they are amazing as well. You should check out Alter Bridge Blackbird, Live from either London or Amsterdam- if you want to see the most amazing dual guitar solo…. Or check out Words Darker Than Their Wings Live at the Royal Albert Hall to see Myles AWESOME vocal range… 🥰🤘🏼🤘🏼

the confusion w the video is that it was included in the SCREAM 3 movie soundtrack - hence why they included the footage and band members in the theme of the video
CREED has an amazing library of songs that you guys should check out.... BULLETS, FACELESS MAN, WASH AWAY THOSE YEARS (DEEP SONG), HIGHER, MY SACRIFICE, WEATHERED among other tracks are all so good !!! Definitely go down that rabbit hole guys !!!

Creed was a damn good band. They have plenty of great songs, but I forgot about this one. This one was a heavy hitter, and is one of my favorites, but I completely forgot about it. I will be jamming out to this for the next few weeks. One Last Breath is another banger from them.

It was the lead singer, not so much their stance on religion. Part of their problem as the years wore on, they would often cancel concerts, mostly due to Stapp's issues. The biggest joke that I can remember was if Creed were coming in concert, will they or won't they cancel the upcoming show. Them canceling shows wasn't so much the norm, but it was regular enough that it was noticeable and it was the running joke on the local rock stations. From what I've read and what Stapp has said in recent interviews, that he's dealt with those issues. Hopefully he continues to live a healthy life, we all have our issues, the important part is to acknowledge your weaknesses and do your best to overcome them.
Good reaction, continue down the rabbit hole of Creed, they have a lot of really good music.

I think the problem for Creed was mostly from lead singer Scott Stapp very publicly going through some mental health and addiction issues.
He seems to have really gotten his life together.

Please Please please check out AlterBridge. They formed after lead singer Scott Stapp left and they added the incredible Myles Kennedy to vocals and changed the bands name. So many good songs. I would recommend Blackbird (FIRE), Before tomorrow comes, Cry of Achilles, In Loving Memory (Guitarist Mark Tremonti wrote this as tribute to his mother passing - Phenomenal!), Fortress, Brand new Start, Ghost of Days gone by, Broken Wings, and Words Darker than their wings (Do the live at Royal Albert Hall - mind blowing!) Love the channel! Enjoy the rabbit hole :)

I don't know if you're opposed to the genre or not, but if you want to react to an "actual" Christian rock band, I would highly recommend "Stryper." They are immensely talented musicians, with a phenomenal lead vocalist named Michael Sweet.
    Songs:
" More than a man", "The Way", "Rockin the world", "Always there for you", "To hell with the Devil", "Honestly" (ballad), and my favorite, "All for one". Which came out in 1990, and the lyrics apply even more today than they did then. 🤘😇

  • @cloudrunner7
    @cloudrunner7 10 месяцев назад

Scott Stapp is an unabashed Christian that had issues in his teens and came back to his faith. The lyrics leave no doubt if you know what you are listening to. My Sacrifice is most definitely all about his relationship with Christ. His band mates always said that they didn't want to be identified as a "Christian" band. Yet a healthy chunk of their audience was Christian. Part of the downfall was about that rift and some of it was about his issues resurfacing and being painted as a hypocrite. So the band broke up and the positive messages in their songs died with it. I loved Creed and still do. I saw them live and they were outstanding. I am a former professional musician and they weren't the flashiest but their music hit home... especially the lyrics. There were alot of "the struggle with suicidal feelings and triumphing over it" type songs. My favorite Creed song depends on the day.
One Last Breath might be a good next step. You'll see what I mean by the lyrics.

They were the biggest thing out there in my days of running around, partying and clubbing, in the late 90's and early 2000's. They had conflicts with each other as a band, and unfortunately split up when they were at the very top and still were climbing. So we got cheated out of so much great music they would have created over the next few years, because of Scott's psychotic behavior that was intensified by drugs. People can make fun of them all they want, but those people werent there to see how fast this group shot to the top, by crankin out amazing songs, one after another. There will never be songs like this again, because these songs were written by Scott, and his song writing skills are second to none.

    • @chrisstone5868

I just don’t think Creed as a band, and Scott as a singer could have been summed up any better. I was looking for the right words to describe what Scott went through with his bipolar disorder. And the drugs that ultimately went with his disorder making him seem like he was crazy. But the way you put it, just summed up all I was thinking, and trying to put into words. There was so much hate for this group. I never understood why!!! Their songs were really well written, and above all performed even better. So I just wanted to say THANK YOU for putting into words what I EXACTLY was thinking. Well done 1980!!!

Yea that's how the music videos go when their linked with a movie. It's often just showing random movie stuff that doesn't always match what the song is about. Solid song though. Human Clay is a solid album. I highly recommend checking out "Are You Ready" from that album and "What's This Life For" from the My Own Prison album.

But their sound his voice kicks ass they can rock they do good ballads just killer all the way around. I'm guessing most of the people that cracked on them were people too concerned about how they appeared if they were listening to creed. I didn't give a fk I listen to who l listen too!
