Man I love the landscape during this canyon drive. And this Civic look so agressive sporty, pretty nice.
This car is a modern-day legend! Hard to believe this car with room in the back seat for 2 adults and a usable trunk has performance stats on par with a Lamborghini Countach LP400 but all with that Honda reliability and better fuel economy. That is supercar level performance at a working man's price. Well done Honda. Well done. IMHO the Type R is the Lamborghini of hot hatches.

It is so good, I'll probably get an Si instead. It has enough performance and much better fuel economy. Maybe the new one, this version looks too ridiculous for me.

@@dongphuongr Type R is hatch only. No sedan version. The Civic SI comes in sedan but type R is hatchback only. Maybe with the 2022 redesign they'll make the type R a sedan but im sure the type r is gunna stay a hatch and the SI is gunna stay a sedan

i had the first edition 2017. The seats are good if your a 36 waist and 140 lbs...bigger guys need a diet. The front wheel drive is not so good it bumps and shakes off the line, they need an all wheel drive version. If you live in part of the world that snows then forget it... it sucks in the snow, even with winter tires it was rough. it is a nice car for warm weather and track use. I now have a 2020 Genesis G70 3.3 and am a happier dude.
When I get one that piped in sound will be the first to go!

I use to be a tech at Honda and I got to say that I drove my share off the fk8 type r got to say these cars are amazing for what they are Honda did a great job but I recommend if u buying this car to get rid off the 20s and go 18s for u can run a thicker tire.

@windingroad, were the suspension changes noticeable vs. 2019? Does R ride stiffer? Comfort mode rides the same or softer? I would have preferred that Honda did not add the electronic sound enhancement. Great POV by the way.

watched this while driving in my type R. yes this one does sound louder. they listened to all complaints but don't know fake noise is frowned upon in the car community? then again the car community hates wings on production cars even if it adds downforce so i wouldn't listen to the fans for everything either.
Perhaps you shouldn't drive and watch videos at the same time.

Question: Are these subtle upgrades worth getting a 2020 model over a 2019 model?
Yes, but only if you are buying it new and do not already have a 2019. Also, 2019 does not have the Honda Sensing if you are a purist.
If your are buying a new car and do not already own a 2019 model, I'd go for the 2020. As Apollo Andratti pointed out, it has the full sensing array, something I like since I use it as a daily and not so much on track, so the additional comfort is really welcome. The alcantara steering feel might not look like a big upgrade, however I really like the feel of it. Also it is said that (in case of track use) the 2019 had problem with overheating when driven in hot climate. Therefor the air intake is 13% larger with the 2020 model, which should help to mitigate this effect. Allegedly the circumstance, that the 2020 has no holes in the break pads, is said to reduce wearing of those. - However I cannot deny or confirm this.
You should try an Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.0T on these roads.

Lol, it's just the 40k that's why... I can afford it but, don't want too. Having fun in my 2010 Accord V6. Not even close compared but, I can actually pay the loan off within a small amount of time with ease. This car is fire though, it'll be definitely always in the top cars I want

As much of a Honda hater as I am, this is a really nice car.
But. Why does it have that hood scoop? (Actual question). Does it fill any function.
And, the rev lights on the dashboard are just ridiculous in my opinion... Why on earth do they feel that is a feature that needs to be there?
