As a guitar teacher myself, I can say with confidence this is an excellent set of exercises and the instructor is outstanding. Clear, concise and accurate. Top notch…👏👏

Great show. My first time with you. I’m an old guy who will never get past “advanced beginner”. Goes to show you that no one is ever to old to pick up a tip or lick. Great stuff 👍

Loved the episode and flat picking exercises. I just joined TAC last week. Today was my first Tuesday Lick Challenge. I was nervous trying this first lick but surprised myself by playing it through, not at full speed, but still felt great to be able to play it at all. Thanks!

I really liked this flat picking lesson. I am always working on improving my flat picking, and I am excited to try these exercises . Thanks.

Billy Strings stretching: I stretch before I start a session AND sort of, during it. My usual audience, average age 88+, has a chair exercise usually after my session. After a “fast” song when they are awake, I take a minute or three to do some stretching and have them do the exercises, including the had stretches. They are less likely to leave, and it rests my voice in the 100 minute to 2 hour sessions.
The jersey: good color, and gets one thinking about Mardi Gras, which is past.
Nice flat picking session, although I think some of this is also in the TAC lessons.

Good show! I liked the flat picking exercises. I haven't been watching the Acoustic Tuesday show in some time, but will try to make it a weekly thing to watch from now on.

    Day 41 of TAC
I still suck but at more things than I did 40 days ago.
Don't mistake my sarcasm for negativity, I'm actually happy with my progress and have a lot of "little wins" and I suck a lot less than I did. I'm still enjoying the program and have a good practice routine established. The coarse is very technique and skill focused instead of song focused and that's fine but it would be cool to learn a few simple songs along the way. Maybe that will come later as I go through the lessons.
I'm still struggling with chord transitions and picking the right strings but it's getting better. I expect the more I practice the better I'll get at it.
I have experience at being persistent in order to develop skills and master techniques in other aspects of my life. I believe that if I apply the same enthusiasm and consistency to learning to play the guitar I will be successful. TAC has given me direction and motivation. I'm having fun and progressing every day.

This is a beautiful message to see, from the outside! Tony is a technique NINJA. There are teachers out there that FOCUS ONLY on songs. I subscribe to a guy that does just finger style guitar songs. But no instructions on anything other than how to play the songs. I will not name drop on someone else’s site unless Tony says OK, and then privately. Because TONY!

@@abates226 I'm looking at the first year as the foundation building stage. I want to learn the basic techniques and get my fingers conditioned to land in the right places. There's so much to learn when you know nothing and it can get overwhelming if you don't narrow it down significantly.
I've poked around some of the YT lessons and did the Fender Tone lessons and learned some stuff. I was looking for something more substantial when I found TAC. I watched the video and Tony's a good salesman but what really got the money out of my pocket was the testimonials. Most of those people were around my age, 50+, and seemed to be finding success with the program. I'm happy with everything so far and the song thing is certainly something I can pick up somewhere else, when I'm ready. Right now I have more on my plate in TAC than I can handle. The 30 Days to Play was a great start and I'm enjoying working on those lessons still. I've been making videos from day 1 up till now and it's wild to see how far I actually come in 40 days. I might post a montage for my 90 day progress review. Should be good for a laugh.
Sorry. I type fast and ramble sometimes. Thanks for replying to my comment though.
      Mike F.

That martin looks nearly identical to an Aria from the 70's that I picked up recently (the Martin has more bling, but it actually has 5 ply binding, and also bound headstock/fingerboard). Full flame maple body, maple neck, and begs the question: why do many players seem to be shy of maple acoustics?
They sound *great* IMO and are actually my preferred body wood for acoustics.

Hey Tony, Check out the Boucher SG-161-GU ME 1045-OMH review on RUclips through Brick House Guitars. The back and sides of this Boucher are torrified as well as the top. Could this be the future of guitars?

They say as you get older, some people become more childlike... Does that mean as we age, learning guitar will be easy like a child and absorb everything put before us? That kid was pretty amazing.

I’m not sure if you mentioned this one in one of your pick reviews (probably you did) but I just got this John Pearse ‘Fast Turtle’ casein pick. I’m sure I got the idea from you. Anyway, it’s its own world. Really the best $11 I’ve spent, well, ever. Ever.

Two broken fcxking hockey sticks, huh? I love the Earth for producing someone that can come up with that reference. I’ve never played hockey. I went to a couple games. Thursday you could get a hot dog and a beer for four bucks. I was used to soccer games where that would be like, thirty. I like hockey people. Thanks, Tony! I started getting crazy trying to flatpick bluegrass stuff a couple years ago. Some progress. You’ve been a Resource. And have lent inspiration.

Tony, great flat-picking lesson. Now, it’s a matter of taking small bites. Non-guitar question: Did you see Linus Ullmark’s goal? Go Bs! Also, the six year old Mozart. I’m 65, been playing for a year. Really?

I love exercises , scales - sad , right? Of course it all eventually springs into music and control. Besides I am an old fart that would be older if not for learning new shit. Since I learned NOTHING when I was young I seem to have found the fountain of youth. Live life and learn when you get older.

What a waste o9f time, not that it is wrong, but the whole thing you could explain in less than a minute, what would it make for beginner way easier to follow it. So you waste time and confuse the peopele ... ts.
