Hi, I am changing the PCV valve on my Civic (EX-2006), and watching some videos on how to do it, I believe that all mentioned a washer on the PCV valve. In addition, is that 18ft.lbs or 33ft.lbs when replacing it? Thank you for the video and explanations, they were really good
Thanks for the video; I changed mine today. There is a crush washer (at 05:44 looks like you might have left it on the engine block). its the same size as the washer for the oil drain bolt. the service manual says the torque spec is 32 ft-lb, but there are sooo many instances of people cracking the pcv valve before getting to 32 ft-lb. I just did mine hand tight. If i see any oil accumulating around my valve, ill just tighten it a tad more. 18 ft-lb should also be ok.
It's possible. I'd give it a double check but this car git side swiped and wrapped around a tree. My daughter walked away with minor bumps and bruises, gotta love these cars!
@Scotty Hobbies man I got a question for you I’m currently in college for ase certification I have an 01 Chevy Silverado 1500 4l60e it’s having intermittent shifting issues right at 50 mph I took it to trans shop they said mechanically it was fine but have a short some where I found the short ground strap was frayed and touching hot wire on camshaft positioning sensor ( I replaced ground strap sensor and connector) no more shorts in the truck ( also transmission is a rebuilt don’t even have 1000 miles on it but still having issues with it shifting at that speed intermittently ) I just need help been chasing wires for a good minute

Never heard anyone say to
Change them that frequently
It's a cheap, fast, and easy. I'd rather be safe than sorry. 👍🏻

Are you sure it's 18 ft-lbs and not 32 ft-lbs?
