I'm so glad you like them! To get red you need to use a lot of food coloring. I only used 2 drops of red to get the pink color you see in the video. You can also mix red paint in the water. Good luck!
I'm going to do this for my wedding. Do you think they will dye red with food coloring? I am so excited that i found this. It's way fancier and prettier than others I have seen. :)
thank you for this easy to follow video. the lanterns are beautiful..just curious what size lanterns do you use? also what size styrofoam ball did you use for the fabric ball? thank you
When I make mine I don't use the Taco method. I put my finger in the middle of the filter, to find the center, then twist the bottom a few times around and glue it onto a small lamp shade, lantern, etc. I'm not saying her way is wrong, I just think the way I learned to do it is less time consuming; you don't have to fluff the filters because when you twist at the bottom that bunches them at the top.
What a beautiful idea. I'm so glad I came across your tutorial. The only thing that bothers me is that you uploaded this video back in 2012 and I just saw it for the first time on Nov 9, 2017. I was living under a rock in case anyone is wondering :(
Puedes comprar papel de china... de esos que ahora se venden para envolver regalos... que son de varios colores o con brillos.. se vería hermoso, no crees?
The fabric ones look very pretty, but I'm concern that the nails might fall out, especially if used in baby/child's room, accidents do happen. Perhaps there's an alternative way to do the fabrics, like the glue gun again or fabric glue..?
Has anyone tried this without using a glue gun? I'm thinking of making them at a hen party but won't have glue guns for everyone to use? What glue could I use instead? (I suppose I could go with the Styrofoam option but would love to do both!!)
This is EXACTLY what I have been searching for to decorate my niece's baby shower! You are awesome!

Hi Jessie, can I ask you what is the size of the coffee filters that you've used. Thank you and keep up the good work. :)
Interesting. I will try that method. Thanks!
About how many coffee filters did you use for the large lantern??? And how many round fabric for the styrofoam???
I got a 20 in. lantern an used 2 packages of filters an it came out huge!😅
Clever idea! Great job and thank you for sharing : ) They look beautifull!

About how many coffee filters do you use per lantern????
thank you for this easy to follow video. the lanterns are beautiful..just curious what size lanterns do you use? also what size styrofoam ball did you use for the fabric ball? thank you
I would puff them beforehand because it takes quite a bit of time depending on how many you glue down.
How much coffee filters do you use for one ball?
Great video! I was wandering if you can advise what would be the easiest and fastest way to cut that much fabric in circles? Thanx a bunch
Can u microwave the coffee filters to harden them also?? And on the foam balls instead of pining them cannu glue them?
Beautiful... Where is the video on how you dye your coffee filters?
Thanks for Sharing! Love this video
Hello ...what size coffee filters are you using and how do you get them so flat mine came out of the oven all wrinkled and not very crispy.

Puedes comprar papel de china... de esos que ahora se venden para envolver regalos... que son de varios colores o con brillos.. se vería hermoso, no crees?
You can use paint or food coloring (mixed with water) to achieve the various colors! : )
Lovely! Thanx for sharing
really cute and easy. Thank you for sharing!
You can actually buy coffee colored filters at the dollar store and Target.
Question: can this also be done with tissue paper?
Great video! Thanks for sharing

What size filter did you use? The small (up to 4 cups) or large (up to 8 cups)? Thank you.
is there anything else to use instead of a chinese lantern and the ball
What can I use instead of Coffee filter? Can I use tissue paper?

I believe I used the 12" size for the two in the video. You can use any size you want though! : )

You can use styrofoam but the chinese lantern is the most cost-effective : )
If you go to jadetime.com they have really cheap ones in different colors
just wow wow
Muy hermoso.
Adoreiiiiii!!!!
Thank you!!
Thanks!!
I have it on my website! : )
Love it
We're do you see how to die them
Amazing
thanks!
very cool~
you could have still used the hot glue for the fabric
no problem : )
so you can't just hot glue the fabric one?
+bhuxtable hot glue usually melts Styrofoam, so that's probably why she didn't use it.
Wow, they are cool ways to make them. I will deff have a try. They look gorgeous =) Subbing =D
very nice
Si es verdad!
wow!
Ya it's a little time consuming haha!
