    You saved me lots of money! Thanks! (The replacement piece I bought did not have a small bolt to replace the rivet, so if anyone does do this, make sure you either buy a kit with it, or go to the hardware store and buy one).

    I have replaced rear window mechanisms 3 times on my 02 Liberty. Getting pretty good at
    the routine. The video helps. However, on two of the three the stud would not stay in the clip. I ended up twisting the stud out of the plastic (on one) and through bolting (1/4-20). The other one, watching and waiting to see what happens. The window seems to be under a great deal of stress when following the curve of the new mechanism. Not sure if the curve is correct ? I see several other posts describing the same problem. Be nice if 1a auto would address this problem.

    Apparently the Jeep Liberty is infamous for failing window regulators. Both rear windows on mine started to slide down and wedges weren't working well. Your video helped me to access the innards (like that word?) And hook a bungy cord to bottom of window and door frame as a temp fix. Thanks!!

    I followed this step by step and it was really helpful but the problem I have is the rear window will only go down but when I try to go up it just falls so my question is do you think I just need to replace the window clip or what else could it be because the motor works fine to me

    I have a 2002 liberty. The glass keeps popping out of the clip. I took it apart and I had to bend the post on the glass and it snapped right In. Lasted 2 weeks and now it popped out. Not sure if the post that's attached ti the glass is bad or if the rebuilt kit would work. Any suggestions would be great. Right rear door

      +Joseph Vlock Thanks for watching! At this point I would recommend that you look into replacing the window regulator assembly. We do not have the repair kit for this vehicle anymore, but we do have a selection of regulators. How do I know if I need the Rear Window Regulator Repair Kit?
    I can hear the bracket moving up and down inside the door, but the glass has fallen out of the bracket and off the track.
    8:06 The glass won't stay on that blackpiece in my door.
    Does this sound like something that can be fixed without purchasing a new regulator kit?
    Also, do you guys sell that black adhesive to seal the water shield back on the door frame?
    I'm just afraid that if I start this project, I won't be able to put everything back!
    Thanks.

    • @1AAuto
      @1AAuto  9 лет назад +1

      You may want to remove the door panel to see if the regulator is broke, or if the glass somehow broke free from the window regulator. We currently do not sell the black adhesive for the water shield.

    I have an 06 Jeep Liberty V6 3.7L. The temperature gauge on the dash has been reading as overheating. There is no white smoke and no bubbling from the coolant reservoir. I started noticing problems when the heater stopped working and then about a week later, the temp gauge starting rising. The car was then sucking about a gallon of 50/50 per week. I noticed a leak from the radiator, so I have replaced the radiator, thermostat, water pump, and the sensor for the temperature gauge with all brand-new factory parts. The vehicle temperature gauge still shows as overheating and it will go down when I turn on the heater. The fan works fine. A/C works fine. Heater works fine. The rubber hoses running to and from the radiator both get warm and it feels like coolant is traveling through. Some people told me it is probably a leaky or cracked head gasket, but the oil looks fine, there is no white smoke, and there is no bubbling from the reservoir.
    Do you think it could be a head gasket? Is it maybe just a shorted wire causing the gauge to read hot? Is the vehicle just possessed? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

      You may want to check the coolant level when the vehicle is cold to see if there's plenty in there. Check the fuses and relays to see if they're okay.Also the radiator fan too, to see if the fan motor may be bad. To check the fan let the vehicle get up-to-temperature, and see if the radiator fan kicks off and on, it should also kick on if you have AC and turn it on. Here's a link to the 06 Jeep Liberty parts section on our website. Shipping is free on all orders in the lower 48 states. At frame timestamp 6:48 it shows the tech installing a different regulator than the one he just repaired!
    Why?
    Ciuld it be that he snapped the poly cable guide tube while he was savagely rupping the original reg. out?
    I jave found it best to do this removal in a warmer environment so the ppe is more pluanle and forgiving of tight radius bends. Also theregulator/motor assembly as a whole, is extracted more easily by spinning the unit in a CCW rotation as you first guide the motor subassembly followed by the regulator assembly which will be trailing right behind the motor. This technique increases the radius forced on the ppe tubing. Thereby you reduce the likelihood of snapping the tube at the stess riser point where it connects to the goosneck ppe piece that is rivet/clipped to the metal guide rail.
    Thanks for sharing theoney saving alternative to replacing the entire component.
    Be Safe

    A few observations: You missed routing and re-clipping of the free tube [the bit connected to the motor bracket but not the actual regulator, also called the 'runout tube'].
    I'd recommend lubing the track and...
    ... finally it's always good to test the works before buttoning it all up.

    I did this repair, but now the window won't stay in the bracket. The little clip won't hold the stud in the bracket, and every time you close the door, the window falls all the way down. Such a stupid design from Chrysler. Why wouldn't they have the pin go through the stud and not just around it.

    • @matthewwalker9646
      @matthewwalker9646 9 лет назад +1

      Matthew Walker Got it figured out. The opening for the stud was really tight on the one side. So while the stud was snapping into the clip, it wasn't all the way in the bracket itself. On the drivers side back it went in like it should, but on the passenger side I had to use a c-clamp to get the stud to come into the bracket. Yes, both rear windows on mine had the regulator problem.
