Hi Barry, another great cruising yarn. Thank you. Obviously your leg prevented you from making it all the way up to the homestead on top of the island but here's another little story which might interest you. I met Andrew Martin, the then leaseholder (who built the beachfront A-Frame for visiting yachties) there, in a visit around 1979. He told me about the 30 foot boat that the previous occupants, the Whites had built from pit-sawn timbers, up there, next to the homestead in 1938. When finished it was completely disassembled and carried down to the beach plank by plank to that lagoon you explored, where it was reassembled and launched. I believe this sturdy vessel, called "Islander", was still operating as a fishing boat out of Cairns in the early 80s.
Barry, I absolutely loved this video! I know you’re thinking about coming back to the UK but it’s not what it was when you left. Leave Shaddy somewhere safe and fly back for a week or 2 to see what I mean. You’re living life out there and you’ll only get frustrated back here. Anyway, don’t bother writing that book coz your superb videos are already out there! 👍😊
R.I.P to a once great nation, now an immigrant hell hole, glad I left it to be honest, I only return to see family and it pains me to see what has happened to the country. Your right in telling Barry to stay away as long as possible
Loved this special episode . Sorry to see your health issues but like you as I age my health has problems but im.older then you. Unfortunately Unfortunately we're on the hard permanently so we really enjoy your episodes. FWCS Fair w...😂⛵️⛵️
Hi Barry. Always an absolute pleasure watching and listening to your adventures. You are our sanity. ( holy crap ) I hear you say. Keep it coming Barry. Stay safe

Looks like paradise! Thank you for sharing your adventures. Also I have lymphedema and wear compression every day to keep it under control. Hope your leg keeps on the mend.
I have visited Middle Percy twice. You could spend hours inspecting the memorabilia in that A frame. On the second occasion I was there we were sailing back to Brisbane from the Whitsundays, we climbed up the hill to the old homestead. We were invited in by the caretaker. That was an amazing experience, it is such an interesting building. The caretaker invited my cousin and I to a BBQ on the beach that night. He had slaughtered a goat in expectation of the owner’s return that evening. We had dinner with the leaseholders and had a wonderful night about five years ago.
Great Vid Barry. I left a "calling card" Firey Helmet in the A frame when we went through in Tondelayo in 2009. I've been through a few more times and the A frame just keeps getting better.Good memories, Thanks for sharing your visit.
Excellent video Barry! Very beautiful scenery. Don't be afraid of the big sail...it's your friend 😂! You will have to get use to sailing it! Stay safe from the east coast of Canada 🇨🇦 🙏
Awesome video! If you get to Airlie Beach, I had one of the finest meals of my life at a fish and chips restaurant. I don't know if it's still there, but it's worth asking around for it. I don't even like fish, but this was so fresh and delicious. It a great little town.
Love watching your travels Barry. You are in my home country. Not quite as I am in Sth Australia. I hope you are keeping a close eye on your health as I notice you are gasping for air a little bit when climbing. Keep safe and enjoying you amazing life.
You wanted to live on Percy. When I visited there in 1986 an older Englishman was living in a house up on the hill. Living a Robinson Crusoe life, of sorts. Yachties visiting daily in season., so not too lonely.
The husbands are out fishing, I'm staying here with the wifes, not called an old sea dog for nothing. You may have seen a plaque by the yacht club for my old mate Brian Anstey who was a regular there. Glad you got to experience the Perceys.
The laid-back leisurely life style in these places is evident in each scene. The crazy world happens and it just doesn't matter at all. And then the reality of what crocodiles eat. Probably nothing about a skinny old sea dog that interest them.
Lived in Oz for over a decade and didn't get as much as a mozzie bite - my late mother, visiting from UK, was bitten by a spider in the first few days. 😂
I like your song, it's really catchy. The most expensive single I've bought, but it's worth it. Guess it makes sense to have your friends dog as your 'girlfriend' when your name is Seadog and you're 'halfway around the world looking for love' :-) Safe sailing!
Interestingly enough, there has been a lot of talk about Captain Matthew Flinders in recent times, as his grave was rediscovered during archaeological digs related to HS2 construction. They reinterred his remains in Lincolnshire.
I could look for hours and hours and hours to these vids. So lovely! I was just wondering in this episode, Barry, Where did you get that tattoo? It looks Polynesian, right?
Thanks for sharing barry, absolutely beautiful scenery. In another life I would love to sail, but I can't swim and I don't like people ha ha. But we did 5 years in a van touring nz, where we stayed, and my sailing mate Barry On mai kai is here now. Music is good, I did some folk stuff when I lived in the uk, now my hobby is ham radio. Take care, come and see us some time, we in dunedin nz, cheers mate. Brian
Get that leg sorted Barry. Things get worse, not better if you don’t get them fixed. It’s as true with human body as it is with a boat.
Absolute joy watch, thanks
The White Shadow is looking awesome Barry! Cheers🍻

Some days, your videos are the only thing I can rely on for a smile, love your work baz 👍👍👍
Brilllllliant Barry - so happy you found that slice of heaven at Percy. Thanks for sharing ⛵️ 👍
Looks like a place you could just anchor awhile and forget about time. 😊😴😎
Great video. In the book exchange is the sign for my old boat "Corsair", a 32ft sloop that the previous owners had sailed up the Ozzie coast.
amazing how wherever you go you always have someone you know around lol

@@CrustyBalls007 So where are you now, making someone else 's country a hell hole?
@@dylancanterbury8042 Truth hurts I guess. Diversity is just division, never worked anywhere ever
At 87 I can only dream. As another old sea. Great. Mike
@@dylancanterbury8042 This made me laugh. Because it’s true!
Bravo 👏 Bravo 👏. Barry.
Stunning natural beauty. Glad you took us along.
Loved the video! The beaches, the shack, the sea, and friends. You are living life to the fullest in adventure. Love it! Thanks for sharing!

I always feel that I’m there with y😅ou
" I wanna live here. " Barry , I lost count, but that may be the 355969556341st time you said that. 😂 Love from Belgium.
Salties have been seen many miles at sea. Bigger risk is the Irukandji jellies. You are in the right season.
Looks like paradise! Thank you for sharing your adventures. Also I have lymphedema and wear compression every day to keep it under control. Hope your leg keeps on the mend.
You're looking and sounding fit Barry !
I need to go to this place, looks like a place i could live also, thanks for sharing

All aboard Captain ! ❤
Been to the Percy on a rescue of a yacht that lost his rudder and ended up On the rocks. Lucky his boat was Steel. So beutiful there
Barry, Barry! Give us shorts videos. Please! I must believe you have some great footage !!?!. I know you have a great sense of humor!
Crocodiles ...but watch out for the "box jellyfish" Very deadly

Thanks for sharing Barry.
Been watching since day 1 Barry. Great stuff I look forward to every post.
Spinnaker. Brave. Good for you!
You’ll be welcome. Most arriving on boats get free food and hotels👍
Great to see you doing good!
Nice cruising ground!
FRIDAY with Seadog!!! What a treat!
Hahahaha!
Enjoyed this. Thank you for posting.
Percy Island is a favorite for sailors. Nice place they've created on the beautiful beach.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow Sailor great episode
You're probably safe from the crocs Barry, they usually pass up tough old pieces of sun dried leather... 😜
Safe travels Barry
Always looking forward to a new episode ❤
New hat, hair cut and blue coat. I was thinking you became a member of the local Yacht Club!! 🙂 But you were missing the gold cufflinks.
😂
Great place to visit Barry always had a good time there.
The laid-back leisurely life style in these places is evident in each scene. The crazy world happens and it just doesn't matter at all. And then the reality of what crocodiles eat. Probably nothing about a skinny old sea dog that interest them.
Well one thing about the camera is you can see if a Croc crops up behind you 😆🤺
So that last anchorage Barry ended up is on the north side of Digby Island.
That sounds like GulfShores, AL sand!
Excellent 👏
Hi Barry nice to see you up that way
Where you heading too in the next months ahead ?
Great as always Barry!
Hero, my hero!!!!
Keep that leg elevated when you can Barry .
Nice place! Makes it all worthwhile, eh? What's it like stepping ashore after so much movement at sea? Stay safe.
Still love you Barry!!😊
Lived in Oz for over a decade and didn't get as much as a mozzie bite - my late mother, visiting from UK, was bitten by a spider in the first few days. 😂
You are right, crocodiles like eating old bodies
That Yacht Club looks like a place where no one checks their email! Jealous!
Hey Barry, you were speaking about crocodiles. At 11:05 look over your right shoulder in the water -- is that a crocodile? It's big, whatever it is.
The sand on Clearwater Beach Florida makes the same sound! 😂😂
Beaches around Gulf Shores Alabama do the same thing....
A drone would be great to see if those islands are an old volcanic caldera
Really cool place!
What a perfectly dreamy place! I would find it very hard to leave there. Hahaha -- "...He'll eat anything off a rock."
I like your song, it's really catchy. The most expensive single I've bought, but it's worth it. Guess it makes sense to have your friends dog as your 'girlfriend' when your name is Seadog and you're 'halfway around the world looking for love' :-) Safe sailing!
Great vid, thanx dude.
Gotta go somehow
Here in Florida we call that Barking Sand.
Interestingly enough, there has been a lot of talk about Captain Matthew Flinders in recent times, as his grave was rediscovered during archaeological digs related to HS2 construction. They reinterred his remains in Lincolnshire.
The Adventures of Captain Ray Penson...on RUclips...just now
Hey...there's OLD SEA DOG's yacht...in GOVE HARBOR
Yup, hope to catch up with Uncle Ray I Indonesia
good show CAPT BARRY !
Singing sands - there’s a beach like that up in Massachusetts US
Barry...you need compression stockings to stop the swelling and prevent DVT. 20-30 mmHG, knee high. Get going on this. F
Visiting the wives as the husbands are fishing...Barry move. LOL
I could look for hours and hours and hours to these vids. So lovely! I was just wondering in this episode, Barry, Where did you get that tattoo? It looks Polynesian, right?
👏👏👏
I would like to know more about the dog and her crew. Do they have a channel or blog? I plan to cruise with my two dogs as crew.
Thank you
Is this sailor a relative of 1 of the owners of Lea & Perrins (sauce makers)?
Thanks for sharing barry, absolutely beautiful scenery.
In another life I would love to sail, but I can't swim and I don't like people ha ha.
