    Thank you for sharing your story. I just had 10 cm endometrioma removed less than two weeks ago. The recovery from the surgery has been brutal. I have five incisions and had my uterus, fallopian tubes and left ovary removed. My surgeon said my organs were covered with endometriosis and adhesions. Even my intestines, colon, bladder and blood vessels. I couldn't walk the first week. I'm slowly getting better, but anything like coughing, sneezing or laughing is torture. My doctor said that I have to be in recovery for at least 12 weeks with no lifting of anything over 15 lbs. This has been the toughest surgery I've ever had. I'm glad that you are doing better because as you know endometriosis pain is disabling to say the least.

      AstridinGeorgia, Thank you so much for sharing. I just found out I have to have surgery for 2 ovarian cysts and worry that endo has run rampant elsewhere. I sincerely appreciate you sharing this very personal experience . It definitely helps me figure out more questions to ask prior to surgery.
      Ema, thank you so much for sharing this video of your experience and helping bring awareness to endometriosis. I too plan to share my experience with everyone I can. There are so many girls/women who have no idea that their symptoms are not normal and can be related to sooo many other health issues. Hormones are INSANE and are linked to soooo much of our bodies. Words can never fully express my gratitude ….. Just so thankful for the internet in these situations. Thank you to everyone here for sharing. 🙏💖.

I finally after 4 surgeries through my 20s and early 30s had to have a hysterectomy. Just stay on top of your doctor and get it delt with asap. i was diagnosed with endo 4 and lived with it for 20 years. My endometriosis wasn't just in the womb but also all over the intestines and lungs. It will be nice if you mention that endo is an inflammatory illness and we as a girl can easily reduce and even eliminate inflammation in our bodies. I am 4-year endo-free just by following an anti-inflammatory diet. In 2 decades of my suffering, no doctor ever told me that I don't have to suffer and that there is something else on the table than just drugs and surgery. I am the biggest introvert but I made my YT channel so no other girl has to wait 20 years to find out that she can get better!

    Getting my surgery next week. Just like you, I thought this pain was normal. My period started to become super painful when I was about 13 (I'm 22 now). Each period felt worse, I had so much pain in my pelvic/genital area. I would cry and shake in pain. Using the bathroom was agonizing sometimes, even being intimate was terrible. Things started getting unbearable when I was 20, birth control helped for a while but ended up in the ER a few weeks ago with what I thought was my appendix. They did an ultrasound at the ER and found a 7 cm cyst. My GYN suspects endometriosis as well. I really wish I got checked out earlier and knew that all of this wasn't normal. I'm so nervous for my surgery but I know it's for the best. Thanks for posting this video, now I know what to expect :)

    i’ve had an ovarian cyst for five years now. another one grew last year as well. 7.8 cms and 4cm. and recently found out i have pcos. i’m finally getting surgery to get my biggest cyst removed. and i’m so glad that i am. i’m still very young i’m 17 but what worries me most is the pcos. i have gained fifty pounds in the past year. i thought it was just happy relationship weight but it was not. it’s impossible for me to lose weight but i have managed to lose twenty in the past two months. but what has put me into a depressive episode lately is the fact that i may not be able to have kids. i know, still very young but as i am going into college soon to get my bachelors to become a teacher, i realized that i will be around kids but may not be able to have my own. and that hurts a looot to think about. i have no one to talk to this about so i guess i’ll leave it here.

      hi! I am so sorry to hear that, I am not very familiar with pcos, but its really good you're getting that cyst removed. The weight could be due to the cyst because I gained weight as well. I had vague symptoms for a couple of years high temps with no infection source some back pain and lethogy. I had emergency surgery and ended up losing my ovary and fallipon tube which was nacrotic. My incision was from groin to belly button about 30cm long. My wound took 3 months to heal I got an infection and a good 6 months till I felt back to normal. Now I'm preparing all my requirements prior to surgery. Honestly I'm so nervous, can you give me some tips? Thank you and God bless us all endo warriors!

    Thanks so much for posting this, girl! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!

    • @emavuckovic
      @emavuckovic  4 года назад +8

      hi! so basically that part freaked me out and I always thought you slowly fall asleep because that’s how it looks like in the movies but it’s not like that at all! When they give you “happy juice” which is something that relaxes you, you’ll literally feel like youre on a cloud and you won’t comprehend that you’re actually getting surgery. Like when I was on the surgery table I felt amazing and I wasn’t nervous at all anymore. And it’s impossible to be awake during it, the best way I can describe it is blacking out like from fainting. When the doctor put the oxygen mask on, she made me count to three and I was on my second breathe when I was completely out. And the next thing I remember is waking up in the recovery room. You’re going to be unconscious when you are asleep, I think I dreamt a little but I was under it for only an hour. There’s really nothing to worry about, the worst part of the surgery was just getting the IV in. I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any more questions

      @@xcalabur18 Hi! My experience was different. I didn’t get any happy juice. Instead they gave it to me through an IV. As they slowly railed me into the operation room, I began feeling tired. I felt my eyes becoming heavy. Once inside of the operation room, they had me roll onto the operation table, strapped me down and regardless of how hard I tried to convince myself to stay awake I instantly knocked out. I am having the same problem. I had pain about 3-4 weeks ago that luckily hasn’t come back. It really hurt on my right side to the point where I threw up a few times. The first time it lasted like 2 days and the second time it happened it lasted like a week. I could barely even walk. I finally got an ultra sound today and I have a really big cyst in there and have to have surgery ASAP. They may have to take the overy out because the cyst is so big but they’re going to try everything not to. I really don’t want that to happen. I’m kinda nervous for that and how the recovery is going to be cause I’ve never had surgery that I can remember. Really wish I went to the ER when I was in pain for that long though every day I debated and told myself “if this doesn’t go away tomorrow I’ll go” and never did. It seems like they don't do laparoscopy surgery much in America, they seem to always do a cut which is obviously harder and longer to get over. My Daughter had a 6.5 inch cyst on her ovary which was done by Laparocopy. It was causing a torsion, luckily she didn't lose her ovary, no thanks to the A&E here in the uk who kept fobbing her off, nobody knew what it was, yet it's so obvious now, they refused to do an ultrasound which is the exact thing she needed, (saving money at the expense of my Daughters health) we knew it, but the Doctors don't care. Women get treated differently than Men in the Medical world at least over her anyway and probably everywhere else. The attitude of oh it's just period pain, or women put it on worse than it is, or women are used to pain anyway they are built to give birth. If a man went to A&E (ER) with similar pains, they would have scans no problem. Glad everything went well for you in the end

      that is very true and it is a sad reality, they told me its period pain too but I knew something was wrong and had to request a ultrasound. i hope your daughter is okay and thank you!

      @@MilanandCharlotte neither. It’s a dermoid ovarian cyst. One cyst every time shows up in any one of the ovaries at a time. This is the first time i had one this big. I once had torsion so as a precaution my doctors advice surgery each time I get a cyst. Don’t know the reason for repeated cysts😞. I am doing a 180 on my diet though.

      my cuz is a retired RN and says many times the surgeon will pump gas into your abdomen so they can get a good look around for abnormalities and it will take some time for the gas to work its way out. hence the post surg bloating.
