Hello, I have a problem getting conntected to my simovert masterdrive. What should I configure in the drive in order to get connected via Drivemonitor? Do I connect via X103? What is the correct wiring of the communication cable? I have the drive in the laboratory and not in the machine. And finally I would like to change the firmaware fo the drive. What is the correct procedure? I do appreciate your kind help. Peter
You can connect using the Front Panel/ Keypad. For cable and connection check this link engrsajidrehman.net/tutorials/master-drive-parameters also given in video description. If you want to change Firmware just because of connectivity issue then avoid it and follow the correct procedure. To change the Firmware, you have to check the current version e.g. 1.x or 2.x and then you can only upgrade the firmware to the same series like 1.1 to 1.2, etc. but can't 1.x to 2.x also it's not recommended to change firmware unless you must have to change.. I tried making new Application every thing is ok for a while but when i start the control it said PreCharging Fault any idea on this?? Help is greatly Appriciated.

Yes as we can use the same tool for troubleshooting, but this is not strongly recommended as the time when you will try to configure the drive, it will STOP for a while and a major accident or damage could happen. So I suggest never try to parameterize a drive or any device while Running within the process.
Sorry for the late reply. We can't copy 420 to 430. We can note down the difference b/w default or factory setting of the drive and then parameterize the other drive accordingly.

can we use mpi cable for master drive? because i don't have com port in my laptop.
You can use USB to Serial converter for communication link. To use MPI, you have to use additional adopter

Try to run the drive alone first then gradually add the other devices. By this method you will find the fault and reason for that. Hope this will help

How to find drive version?
Select USS upload method and after uploading a parameters from Drive you can check the version of Drive and installed Control Card on it.
