💜This is the most impactful, heartbreaking element of DV: the kiddos. I have personal experience, both in childhood and then in marriage with DV. I saw how my kids were affected, and how children in 4 DV shelters were affected. I know that the childhood trauma changed who I would have been. I’m sharing because there’s only one DV shelter in the Houston area that has perfected the formula to truly uplift beat down women and children. This is The Houston Area Women’s Center. (HAWC) They are professional and treat you with dignity. The others, like Star of Hope ESPECIALLY, treat their clients like convicts. But, HAWC needs another facility, as they fill up quickly.
