Great interview with a pianist that I did not know … and I love the Brendel stories. I saw him many times in Chicago and the more you learn about him as a person the more we appreciate his art.

What a wonderful conversation. Did she say that she recorded the Henselt piano concerto last year? That's a magnificent concerto. I would love to hear her play it, but I haven't come across the recording.

Thanks so much for this, so glad you enjoyed! She played the Concerto No.1 by Hans Werner Henze. The Henselt you mention is indeed magnificent-would love for her to program that as well!

Disappointed that she ended the great interview with a note of musical snobbery.

Thank you for watching! How so? Of the people we consulted in the drafting room, and in our experience, snobbery was the furthest thing any of us perceived from her as a person and mind. But we are curious about which aspect you are reacting against-with most issues brought up on the series, slightly differing views are shared across our archive. ✨
