Wow you make a fabulously fine vamp lady! 👀 i like the diversions like the rosary. Unlocking the locks is the key. Wow i like the black light feature. Wow key inside the food, lol. this is a brilliant DIY escape room.
Making escape room intro videos is pretty much the entire reason I have Snapchat. LOL But those filters sure take away the need to do my makeup in the morning.
Very creative! You definitely enjoy creating escape rooms and have a talent for it. I like your vampire video. Well done, my friend 👍. Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day 😀.
I made my first Ouija board for a different escape game, and I actually shocked myself by how easy it was! I stuffed the frame with soft felt to keep the magnets from coming loose, and then put a foam board backing onto it so people couldn't pull the magnets off. Didn't show that part though.
My birthday is this weekend and am doing this escape room in my house. Wish me luck. I couldn’t find the word lock in time but it’s. Thank you and please do more ❤
Happy birthday!!! I'm so happy that you are using my game to celebrate! I do have lots of other escape DIY videos on my channel, and most likely lots more to come. I'm a little bit addicted to them! ;)
Ha ha - did you notice that halfway through the video, my nails changed. I had to take a break in the middle of filming for my nail appointment. I have lovely spiderweb nails now.
Thank you! I have been getting a lot of requests for escape room videos lately, I guess if we can't travel, then we can have a little at-home adventure! :)
That little Ouija board is one of my favourite props now. It's easy to change the code too, you just peel off the back magnets and re-glue them where you need to!
Thank you for showing how to create a really cool at-home escape room! After watching your videos and a few others on RUclips here, I set about creating an in-home escape room for my girlfriend (and some other friends as well) to test out. My girlfriend tested it out on Valentine's Day, with other friends and also my sister trying it out later. The game was set around a serial killer who had captured you and locked you in his hideout and you had to solve the puzzles in order to escape (not sure if my girlfriend was expecting a serial killer based escape room, probably wouldn't have been her preferred choice of theme! lol). I also used your idea of snapchat filters to create a small introduction video for the game! It definitely got some laughs! I am now currently in the planning stages of creating another escape room, this time for a Halloween Party, where there will be small groups of friends (4-6) taking turns to solve the room (providing there are no covid lockdowns at the time lol). This escape room will be vampire themed (liked your video) but I have taken the liberty of creating different puzzles so as not to directly 'copy' your idea, merely use it as inspiration. I also learned some valuable lessons from my first escape room, basically the serial killer game had too many puzzles, and also was spread out over several rooms, instead of just one or two. So for the Vampire game I am sticking to just the one (large) room, to be fully decorated to look like a vampire's tomb inside a castle, and also limiting the number of puzzles to around 7 or 8 (maybe 9 at most). I also have other ideas for at-home escape rooms now, so hopefully will create at least one or two each year, especially one for Halloween. Thanks for the inspiration! Regards Jason
Hello. Thanks for this video. Exactly what I was looking for. We always put on a little hountet house for the kids in our village and this time we wanted to design it as an escape room. It's perfect and not too long. Thanks for your work and tips! Kind regards from Switzerland!
@@DowntheWrabbitHole My wife Laine and I watched this video early today while eating breakfast. We think you have incredible creativity AND we think this would make an excellent business . What a great opportunity to have time ( currently) AND to have a vision of a company to create escape games. We're excited for you !
Hi, i’m making a 2 year update of me trying to recreate this escape room. So I’m opening a escape room company at my school for a entrepreneurship class and i’m remaking this escape room with couple of tweakes. i’m going to add the cure one from one of your previous one. Just wanted to thank you so much for this video since it really helped me a lot
I love this so much!! If you need any more inspiration, I’ll let you know that I did actually start my own mobile escape room company, and I’ve been running it for three years now. It’s been moderately successful and I was featured on Breakfast Television. If I can do it, so can you! I’m so honoured that my videos are helping you!
@@DowntheWrabbitHoleThat’s amazing. i’ll look it up and play. If you don’t mind, could i talk about my plan if my game and ask if it seems good? my entrepreneurial teacher isn’t really a escape room expert
Honestly, we went out trick-or-treating, people had candies all bagged up, or were using pipes / tubes to distribute, someone even had bags of candy on a clothesline and wheeled them to us. It WAS different but super fun - my kids will probably remember it fondly! :)
I used a Snapchat filter! If you have the Snapchat app, just use the search function and look up “vampire”. There are lots of options! I’m not sure if that particular one is still available but you’ll find one you like! And the fade I did with editing on iMovie. Good luck!
any chance you can send me the pdf of the cypher key? i am working on it for a girl scout halloween party next week. i love what you have put together!!
Thank you so much for this video! We are making an escape room for our school and I had a lot of inspiratioon from this video. It is for older kids so I took some ideas and mold it into our story. I have one question though. For some odd reason the velcro that I glued to the candles keeps coming off I don´t know if its because I used a glue gun or because the velcro I had was a sticker so it had a sticky side. I was wondering ... What kind of glue did you used for this specific project? Thank youuuuuu!
The same thing happened to me too, hot glue doesn’t stick to wax for very long. I ended up using sewing pins to secure the Velcro to the candles. That worked a lot better!
I have a question. I make escape rooms for my mom, but i cant make it very hards becuase she has an amazing brain with stuff like math, but not with escape rooms. So can you make a video for people like her?
I have a video where I made an escape room for my kiddos with a Paw Patrol theme. The puzzles were fun but quite easy. You could take that video and adapt it, if you like. :) Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/wpBo-GQ9zto/видео.html
Thank you. This really helps. Also, i love your videos, especially the escape room ones. Beleive it or not, i got many of my ideas based on them. Also i love rabbits! :)
I'm doing fantastic. This is the business I'm building now, making escape games and people pay me to set them up for them. I've been really busy actually!
hello, so this is part 3 of me making escape rooms for my school. I just finished my plan of the game, but i can’t decide if it should be either 45 or 1 hour. could i talk to you about my game plan?
Hi! I'm currently designing a video game themed escape room for my classmates for halloween and your videos have been very inspiring and helpful! But how do you figure out how long a certain escape room will take to solve? I thought I'd give my players 1 hour to complete the room, but honestly I have no idea if they'll able to figure out the puzzles super quick or if it'll take them more than an hour. How do you deal with this?
There’s not really a formula. It’s kind of a gut instinct I have after designing dozens of games and running/hosting hundreds of them and watching people play. Maybe go for about 12 puzzles, varying in difficulty, and see how that goes? You can only truly know after test running your game with a few groups.
I don't currently. I know I bought about four sheets of foam board from the dollar store to make the tombstones, ouija board, and candle holder, those wax candles, a canvas painting frame (for the Ouija board), some little magnets, a UV pen... that's what I can think of from the top of my head. It's all there in the video but I do not have a downloadable list at the moment.
I have the code pages on PDF, and I can send them to you for free, but this video would be your instructions. I didn’t type out a step by step guide or anything. If you want the code pages feel free to send me an email at: downthewrabbithole@gmail.com 😃
We are trick or treating too! Can’t keep me away from that candy! But this is a fun alternative for those who don’t (or play this after the trick or treating is done!)
I just Googled “Ouija Board” and chose a nice clear one without a planchette on the front. Here’s one: www.google.com/search?q=ouija+board&rlz=1CDGOYI_enCA935CA935&hl=en-US&sxsrf=AOaemvLht93jV3zlsrNs0vs_K-nGGOoiVw:1632750742017&source=lnms&tbm=isch#imgrc=SiBv6LxhMneq3M
For the handprint, I just found an image online and printed it. The invisible ink is from a UV light pen. You can get them on Amazon but they are often sold out, so you can try getting them from Scholastic as well. :)
I love this escape room. I am attempting to recreate this for my students. Most likely this has been asked already, but where can I find the cypher key and messages?
i wanna make this escape room! and i am gonna make it. i was bussy with the codes (rebus) i need your help!! the first was three vampires lay her. whats the second??
The second one is: Each vampire bought forty bloodshakes. The decoded message is right around 4:47! 😃 Hope that helps. I’m excited you are going to make this game!
I have a set of black light pens that have UV sensitive ink. Here's a link if you want to grab some for yourself - they work great and haven't dried out on me yet!! :) amzn.to/3pYWF4J
The one I used seems to be no longer available. Here's a couple of other ones currently on offer: lens.snapchat.com/b968e67a8bd440f6bf74c8cad5fc0769 Or: lens.snapchat.com/426960251977474aaf7d9acd5b4009c3
I love this idea and how creative you were I used this video last year for my son's 11th birthday I Incorporated a playful theme but this year he wants an escape room party again but spooky and yet again you are a lifesaver❤
It depends on the age group of people playing. I’d say this one is probably more of a 45-minute one, now that I’m more experienced with room design. But for younger players this may take them an hour. It also depends on how much help you give them too!
@@Sarkeysmusic If I were you, I'd add in one more puzzle. Maybe one about blood types, or counting strings of garlic to make a 4-digit code? Something 'vampire-y'. You could hide garlands of different coloured garlic (just print them out in colour on paper and string them with twine) and hide the garlands around the room or inside locked boxes with the other clues. Then have a slip of paper with the four colors in the proper order so they can figure out the combo. I think with one more puzzle you could plump it up to an hour game. Good luck!

I have a set of black light pens that have UV sensitive ink. Here's a link if you want to grab some for yourself - they work great and haven't dried out on me yet!! :) amzn.to/3pYWF4J
@@DowntheWrabbitHole oh ok thanks
Could you please put the link of the snapchat filter you used? I can't find it anywhere! Thanks!
The one I used seems to be no longer available. Here's a couple of other ones currently on offer: lens.snapchat.com/b968e67a8bd440f6bf74c8cad5fc0769

How dis u create your coffin ⚰️?
I bought it at the Halloween store, and filled it with orange string lights. Easy peasy!
I love this idea and how creative you were I used this video last year for my son's 11th birthday I Incorporated a playful theme but this year he wants an escape room party again but spooky and yet again you are a lifesaver❤
Is 1 hour too long for this escape room?
It depends on the age group of people playing. I’d say this one is probably more of a 45-minute one, now that I’m more experienced with room design. But for younger players this may take them an hour. It also depends on how much help you give them too!
How about 5 12- 16 year olds
@@Sarkeysmusic If I were you, I'd add in one more puzzle. Maybe one about blood types, or counting strings of garlic to make a 4-digit code? Something 'vampire-y'. You could hide garlands of different coloured garlic (just print them out in colour on paper and string them with twine) and hide the garlands around the room or inside locked boxes with the other clues. Then have a slip of paper with the four colors in the proper order so they can figure out the combo. I think with one more puzzle you could plump it up to an hour game. Good luck!
Thank you
She probably deletes all of my comments...lol
