Serbia made its debut in 2007, which makes it one of the youngest countries in the competition - yet one of the oldest. Serbia won on their debut-year, however the Eurovision wasn’t all that new for the Serbians - having competed as Serbia & Montenegro in 2004 and 2005 and as Yugoslavia before the split up.
Serbia is one of the countries that benefits the most from neighbour voting, which shows on their results. They have only missed the final three times, but all three times they barely missed it. However they are rarely in the top 10. They stick to Serbian most of the times. Only between 2015 and 2017 they internally selected English songs.
