- Here's a recap of all the songs that competed for San Marino in Eurovision Song Contest from 2008 to 2024. Please, enjoy!
San Marino has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 14 times, debuting in the 2008 contest, followed by participation from 2011 onward. The nation did not participate in 2009 or 2010, citing financial difficulties. Having failed to qualify in their first four attempts, the nation qualified for the contest's final for the first time in 2014. Valentina Monetta represented San Marino in 2012, 2013 and 2014, making her the first entrant to participate in three consecutive contests since the 1960s. In 2019, Serhat managed to qualify to the final, marking the second appearance of the country in a Eurovision final and achieving their best result to date of 19th place. Following the 2020 contest's cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe, their 2020 candidate Senhit was again selected to represent San Marino in the following contest. She qualified to the final, making it the first time that San Marino made it to two consecutive finals.
Radiotelevisione della Repubblica di San Marino (SMRTV), the national broadcaster of San Marino, has largely chosen to select their entrant internally, though on five occasions they used national finals: 1in360 for 2018, Digital Battle for 2020, and Una voce per San Marino since 2022. Unlike other participating countries, San Marino does not organise a televote due to their use of Italy's phone network, and because the small number of potential televoters would not meet the minimum voting threshold set by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).

OBS: I'll leave the automatic qualifiers as automatic qualifiers even if the country hadn't been my choice to win in the previous year or wasn't high for me in the semi-final format from 2004-2007, since as the entry did not face the semi-finals that year, it would be difficult for me to imagine a situation of these entries in the semi-final

My opinions about the country in eurovision: Another extremely underrated country in eurovision, that i consider the most underrated country participating in the semi-finals together with Latvia, Georgia and Ireland, It's sad that San Marino became a huge meme in the Eurovision community because of so many NQ and dead last places San marino has and also because San Marino has always been considered just a smaller brother of Italy, just like the Vatican, but in my opinion they deserved much more Qualifiers in the contest, and with Megara this year it was no different, I already knew it was going to be NQ because it's San Marino, but I still had hopes of a surprise Qualifier, because i love so much they song, i am a huge fan of rock songs so i love this song and the cartoon background was so cool, San Marino really didn't deserve to be so underrated in the contest and i hope they get better places in the future 🥲.

Megara was one of my favourites this year, very underrated performance in my opinion
nah, the live performance was really bad, her vocals were horrible
I absolutely love the studio version of the song but the live vocals were genuinely horrific, even before the delay in her singing

One big problem is that: San Marino is relying on foreign singers. It's like old Luxembourg that relied on French singers. "11:11" by Megara was eliminated even from pre-selection in Benidorm, but won in UVPSM.
Una Voce Per San Marino is the recipient of many foreign singers who cannot make efforts to be popular in their mother country. Another problem is: Sanmarinese singers cannot beat them.
Only Nicola(Miodio), Valentina, and Anita are real Sanmarinese. San Marino should grow its own singers, and they will get a chance to qualify to the GF.

From my personal point of view I disagree, Stripper and 11:11 are some of my favorite entries from them in only 3 years of UVPSM. Where in all the other years I only liked 3 songs from them in total (2021, 2013, 2008)
Also, after Megara this year I think KEiiNO also expressed interest in participating in UVPSM next year. The concept of "any country is allowed" could really lead them to success one day imo

so many legends. Its so often in my top 20, even top 10 and Vola is my no 1 from 2013 and they should be in the final way more often. I hope they never stop and I hope they will win one day and I will get tickets and be there.

The UVPSM audience wanted the money that they spent for the tickets back, Loredana’s fans hacked San Marino’s Wikipedia page and put “Pazza” as the national anthem, even RAI news wrote an article about that…

2022...idk, maybe performance was a bit over the top etc., but also i don't even know myself (even if i'm not a fan of Stripper, i really thought it might somehow qualify) :/
2023...the song was a bit too polarising for most of the people, especially because of a lil too repetitive construction (e.g. beginning with the chorus), the lyrics (even i think some of the lyrics were weirdly constructed despite the fact that after discovering the other releases they became one of my favourite artists from ESC..what an introduction i guess 🤣) and something was off with vocals for a short part of the song from around second chorus until the end, especially during the very end aka THE WAAAAAAY (and that moment landed in recap!) but that's how it ends when a really good sounding band (fr, check out their other songs because many of them are surprisingly good!) randomly goes to ESC with one of their weaker songs :/ wish they went with Color Shades (their first postESC release), which was also considered to be sent to UVPSM...maybe this would be a borderline Q or if NQ then at least bring them some points if nothing would be messed up (but nonetheless they still deserved some points, i really don't get how the pink android guy from Denmark managed to get some points because he was offkey the whole performance and if it wasn't for vocoder that might've helped him then it would've been really bad for that guy too...)
2024...i guess some problem with the vocals + maybe something technical (it can be seen during the performance Kenzy herself had some problem with ear-in?) :/
@@origo1165 in 2022 there were actual voting scandals in semi 2 in the juries and san marino was involved, that's why i mentioned voting scandals. Stripper was in my qualifiers in 2022, but borderline(and the performance was very over the top and excessive, even if i liked it)
